When it comes to Fans and Athmosphere, ill take Scotland any time, any day, any draw. FANTASTIC.Proud and descent people. They even got their personal real time James Bond to sing the anthem.Guy with the grey hair, what a hero.
The Tartan Army have won awards from UEFA for their combination of vocal support, friendly nature and charity work. The Tartan Army have been awarded a Fair Play prize by the Belgian Olympic Committee. and were named as the best supporters during the 1992 European Championship. The fans were also presented with a trophy for non-violence in sport and were voted by journalists to be the best supporters for their sense of fair play and sporting spirit at the 1998 World Cup in France.
I KNEW you were going to bring up Celtic and Rangers.
Only a percentage of Old Firm fans follow Scotland, and those are the peaceful and intelligent members of the Old Firm fanbase, the rest follow England and Ireland.
How many Ireland matches have you seen? Notice the amount of Celtic strips in the crowd.
Also, watch a Rangers game and listen to "God save the Queen" or "Rule Britannia"
The Tartan Army are peaceful and fun-loving and we have the trophies to prove it.
please indicate where i mentioned celtic or rangers - but seeing as you have, yes, a fine example - also I think you'll find aberdeen dundee and dundee utd, not to mention hearts and hibs have very active hooligan followings - so all these conveniently "dissapear" when scotland are playing do they?!!! the scots aint whiter than white mate and nor are the irish, seeing as you mention the amount of celtic fans they seem to attract (like a bucket of SHIT attracting flies!).
I thought we were talking about SCOTLAND. Why are you bringing clubs into this? Hooligans and troublemakers do not follow Scotland, and even if they did, they would get rooted out and kicked into touch by the rest of the Scotland fans.
Do you really want to mention club football? How about Millwall and West Ham last year? How about a steward dying when Aston Villa were playing QPR
Regardless. I'm taking about internationals here. No hooligans follow Scotland, can you say the sam about england?
@cheltcanary look up tartan army paris march and tell me honestly if that was england fans, would they be rioting or not?? and b honest and think about ur track record
...and if scotland made it there a nu,mber of scotland fans WOULDNT also be on trial??? How many scots got arrested in amsterdam during the qualifiers?? Think you'll find it was around a dozen or so. At least no cross bars will be broken now you lot aint going! Dis i EVER suggest we'll WIN the thing?? Nope! Nethertheless we'll enjoy the sunshine whilst you lot wank over Michelle McManus's latest flop!
How many did we take to Amsterdam? 20/30 thousand? And a "dozen" were arrested? Oh golly! You're absolutely correct, we ARE nothing bit a bunch of troublesome thugs who go to football matches to indulge in violence... No, wait, that's you. ;)
You are correct, once again, we AREN'T going. What a smart person you are! :)
We aren't going because the SFA went for that wet noodle Burley instead of a real manager.
You aren't stirring anyone up, mate. But keep it up, you're funny. :)
oh ffs!!! in portugal we took 120,000 and there were the same preportional arrests as poer scotland in holland!!! Actually, 20 or so arrests in portugal were by drunken holiday makers in the algarve who had NO match tickets and wouldnt have gone to support england anyway, yet they bolster the stats. In Germany 2006 we took some 50-60 thousand - again the same kind of percentage were involved in trouble - if scotland was bigger or had more support then the percentage of arrests would be similar.
Euro 2000, the England team was threatened with expulsion from the tournament, due to the poor behaviour of the fans. Who are you going to to blame for that? FIFA? The police?
Like it or not you have a catalogue of hooliganism following England. There's tv footage and paper coverage.
Scotland would have similar arrests if we were bigger? Nonsense. I've followed Scotland home and abroad for more than a decade and I've never witnessed one piece of violence. And a "dozen or so" isn't a number.
thats great!!! look forward to hearing you all sing in June, as we board the plane to south africa and you sad wankers get stuck into your buckfast and deep fried mars bars!

... the point is that scotland dont have better fans, just less, and qualify for less so are given less opportunity to go anywhere or do anything!

Simply brilliant.
The fans were singing for the entire match, even when we conceded it didn't seem to dampen our spirits.

Firstly, buckfast? Yeah, it's time to stop with the generalizations as they are fairly ever accurace.
Deep fried mars bars? Yummy! ;)
Sure, you'll board the plane to south africa and I'm guessing a number of you will be on trial when the finals finish.
Oh, oh, don't forget about to boo Hargreaves, Ashley cole and Lampard. :p
Besides, I don't know why you're gloating, mate. You think you'll win the world cup? You need a world class keeper/
Have a lovely day. :)
