  • Great version! If it wasn't for the (pop) up stupid comments it would have been a perfect video.

  • look at that grey hair audience

  • does ANYONE know the name of the very last chord he plays? its amazing

  • @bmatsnig they are two of my favourite guitar players, comparing them is ridiculous, and wrong.

  • theres a much better recording of this on my channel

  • @melness1 I think you're spamming. (:o)

  • Hello Everybody Im Andy Timmons and I teach God how to play guitar

  • i cant find any body to do a good step by step tutorial of this song. Someone that can play this should do one.

  • die kack gitarrenlehrer schleichwerbung stört und ist peinlich. Traurig, wenn jemand versucht mit dem Namen eines bekannten Gitarristen Geld zu machen.

  • I love Andy Timmons but the sound quality of this video sounds like SHIT and is not the best version you bag of dicks

  • I have to stop myself from tearing up to this guys music, No lie, This is what god listens to up there,

  • and justin bieber is more famous than this guy? what has the world come to?

  • Blues Master and a Remarkable Guitar Virtouso......Notes he plays .....very soulful....

  • Every time I test out a new set of headphones this is the first tune in my list. Off of the CD of course rather than youtube but still...

I saw him perform this live in Dallas at a guitar show before the album came out and it was pretty magical. I'd never heard anything quite like it.

  • Andy RULES

  • God Andy is amazing!!!!! Him, Satriani, Vai, and Malmsteen just blow me away.......

  • Yet another variation of the song to learn. Happy day.

  • Andy needs more respect! He is magnificent.

  • hate fuckin comments on the video

  • for the first time when i read " best version " it's realy the best one !

  • the tone the tone the tone the tone.... :D

  • he is the best:D

  • andrewbevguitarist does a really clean cover of this lovely number

  • Andy is an amazing Musician and after that a fantastic guitarist, just like JS...

  • well.... say no more and play.... thats what it is.....

  • id kill to see this guy live.

actually a G3 with Satriani Timmons and Paul Gilbert would be amazing

  • He just make about 98% of famous artists' signature tones out there downright obsolete.

  • andy timmons is a beast. his control and tone are magnificent

  • (0:40) How doues he make the guitar sounds in that way ?

  • @GABOSTONES Natural harmonics

  • @GABOSTONES EVH used to use that a lot. What you do is you tap the fret that's 12 frets above the note you want to become a harmonic. Say you wanted the B at the second fret on the A string to sound like a harmonic, so you would press down on the B with your left hand and with the right hand tap the 14th fret on the A string.

  • Sem dúvidas é uma das melhores!

  • this guy is fantastic.

  • Perfeito, amo esta canção, grande Andy, incrível Electric!

  • I think Timmons's lack of "fame" is showing how much passion he has for music. If he wanted to, he could go out any day and try to be a mainstream artists...but he strives to give us the best he possibly can by staying true to himself and his style. Thus, I don't think it's so bad that he's underrated...we're just extremely lucky to have come across such a wonderful guitar player :)

  • Andy was in "Danger Danger". He played on the Tracks "naughty Naughty" and "bang Bang". Andy has had his stance with mainstream. However I agree with you that I don't think he cares to be a mainstream artist at this point in his life. I think he is comfortable being a songwriter/performer on his own terms.

  • I bet, than if I had chance like him to be in mainstream, I couldn't be so strong to resist or not go into mainstream. As you said, we're extremely lucky to find so amazing guitar player.

  • Greatness .

  • I fucking hate it how great musicians like Andy Timmons are underrated.

Joe Satriani deserves much more than what he is getting right now as well..

  • Satriani is not underrated....But my goodness, it's a crime how underrated Andy is. He is easily the most diverse and one of the best guitarists post Satriani/Vai

  • They're fairly unknown for a reason. They play music, not horseshit radio crap.

  • @whoahesgood: couldnt have said it better

  • @whoahesgood couldnt agree more

  • I'm completely approving with you.But sadely, there is not a lot of people that are listening to that kind of music,or those that will try won't understand that the musician is playing for real lol. Most of people think that THIS is actualy NOT music. This is why they are underrated,on my opinion.

  • @whoahesgood it's because andy, JS and a lot of other musicians make music that they like first and foremost, what will sell well is probably the last thing they think of when making a song. Sadly alot of other 'musicians' nowadays have it the other way around, selling comes first integrity and longevity is further down the list, that's why you hear alot of one hit wonders on the radio. Just my thoughts though ;)

  • @whoahesgood the guy got 15 grammy nominations and no wins.

  • @austin33309 your comment made me cry!!

  • @whoahesgood You should just be happy with what you like lol. I much prefer Jimi Hendrix to any of them. We all have different tastes.

  • @whoahesgood Hey! You can thank the rest 19/20 drone heads who listen to nothing but what theyre told is good. Justin bieber is in the picture this time AS FUNKING WELL!

  • @whoahesgood you're right regarding andy timmons, he's a great underrated guitarist, but satriani is acclaimed since 80's

  • @whoahesgood timmons is amazing

  • @whoahesgood I don't know, see all the awesome gear those two are playing I'm thinking they are both doing pretty well actually.

  • @whoahesgood yeah man. all the assholes are famous, but the talents aren't...

  • @whoahesgood people like jusitn "barbier"... singing "baby, baby baby....uh"

  • @whoahesgood real true bro..just bec. it has no lyrics doesnt mean its not worth listening to!

  • @whoahesgood Jimi Hendrix is another very underrated guitarist. Very few people seem to have heard of him.

  • @lewars1912 more like most overrated all time

  • @ChangGang There's not much chance of your comment ever becoming overrated, lol.

  • Though douchebag Mayer is a more popular muscian,Andy will just own his ass.

  • wow he plays with so much emotion

  • Which is more than can be said from the crowd...

And I agree that is very underrated!!

But maybe that's a good thing, if he was 'normalrated' he may get personality issues :p

  • How the FUCK did the name of Mayer even make it onto this page...

  • probly because this style is very mayer/hendrix-ish besides the fact that timmons kicks mayers ass

  • Andy Timmons, and John Mayer shouldnt even be used in the same sentence. Timmons blows him out of the water in every single aspect of guitar playing.

  • Anyway, come back to Kurashiki again!!

  • Its a nice clinic... Dont expect people to rise up and start a moshpit

  • one of the best guitar player

  • excellent composition

  • Amazing song and tone

    Amazing performance

...Croud... looks like the local nursing home had a break-out and they all wound up front row at the Andy Timmons show...

    Da fuq?

  • Hee Hee that gave me a good chuckle

  • lmfao

you are quite fuqing right :P

  • @JordanPemberton ..hell yes, all the original rockers are in their 60s' now!

  • @JordanPemberton R O F L!! That was funny

  • Just...perfect !!!

  • Such a good song

  • Its like Vai, Hendrix and Eric Johnson had a love child. a voodoo child perhaps =] amazing tone as well.

  • the guy who makes the text balloons deserves pain

  • for sure! de desreve slow pain... hmmm.. i would tie him to a chair in an isolated room when drops of water falls on the center of his skull. one drop every 15 sec...

    (:

  • haaaaaaaa.... amazing mind!! you right .. even better....

  • somehow the rythm in this song doesn't seem completely accurate , probably just me, guitar is perfect

  • ok, mayer is no where near on the level of timmons, but to be quite honest mayer is, to me, a great player. I think that for his music, and his voice, his guitar work is wonderful, and I would see him live anyday. for the record, I'm a huge metal head, soulful shred-head (timmons, vai, satch, etc ), savage garden fan, and well yeah. I'm not biased. great song here by the way.

  • this sounds immense through my speakers so god knows how brilliant this sounded in person..

  • Timmons is amazing! Though, I must say John Mayer could give this guy a run for his money any day! Check out some of his blues stuff, the guy blows my mind!

    This song however, amazing!!!

  • i don't think so....

    John Mayer have his tone

    Timmons have his tone too~~

  • John Mayer can NOT give Timmons any competition. Mayer always sounds like he is trying too hard. Timmons plays effortlessly. Timmons is a master on the level of Satrianni. Mayer? Give me a break.

  • Well, I suppose it is a matter of oppinion and of course the style of play. I have listened to Timmons, and Mayer and I must say Mayer has some serious skill. I am not trying to discredit Timmons, I just feel that as far as guitar mastery is concerned they are both at extremely high levels. Mayer doesn't get much credit because of his early pop stuff, listen to some of his lesser known recordings and it may change your mind...which you should keep open...

  • I have listened to Mayer's playing. Sounds like a singer-songwriter who plays guitar too. Mayer is simply boring and uninspired, when he's not copping someone else's blue licks. He certainly is not bad, it just that he's not great. Saw Mayer live with Clapton also on the bill. Mayer's an amateur compared to Timmons and Clapton.

  • Mayer's good, but wimpy. Maybe you are really John Mayer using the name Dkearns17?

  • john mayer is a great player, and i love his playing. own all his albums and many many bootlegs. with that said, mayer isnt really in the same level as timmons. he is a great blues player, and cant really do anything else. he is great though, just not on the same level as timmons.

  • what I like about john is that he is a pretty good multitasker.

sing and play the way he does is hard.

  • john mayer fucking blows i hope he gets hit by a truck.

  • Comment removed

  • i agree, he's a great player in many aspects, id say hes a better acoustic player than andy maybe. but he can do some mean solos

  • both has great talent,

but andy advance in technical such as his speed, note selection which more advance in terms of complexity.

but really both of them has really great passion and feeling on music.

  • I agree, they are just great, but I prefer Timmons as a guitar player, I think he has more feeling and he composes better...

Anyway, I love how Mayer sings... Mayer is better as a singer and Timmons as a guitar player.

    Anyway, I prefer Timmons.

  • Timmons is also an excellent excellent singer as well, & has many great vocal songs. Just listen to "Orange Swirl" or The Pawn Kings. The guitar playing, well just say that John Mayers is good, but it's not even in the same dimension as Timmons!

  • Are you fucking serious? do some fucking research before you say such a thing.. I'll give you a break this time.. you probably don't know much about playing guitar. Just don't say that to someone who's knows something about guitar.

  • Glory!!

  • yes he does :)

but he didn't write the song...think about it

  • absolutly!

    5* for your excellant comment

  • he plays it no where near as well

  • MUSIC

  • reminds me of master jimmy!! incredible!!

  • master who...

  • Damn.. I love this song.. very cool

  • I've never heard of this guy until now. Can't understand how that happened..he's amazing

  • Awesome!

  • Andy Timmons is simply incredible. I guess if i could, I'd pick up his signature guitar. It can sound pretty strat-like, but a little fatter, has more punch and i think those singe coil size humbuckers have a really nice tone to them. Kinda like a single coil, but more round highs in a way. Maybe you know what i mean =)

  • he uses alot of effects here, i have those very pick-ups on my guitar and trust me they dont play a very nice clean tone, the notes sound very blunt and not really defined if you get me, as if your constantly playing on the neck pick-up when infact your playing on the bridge pick-up. with distortion and mild gain which this guy uses though, they make absolutely incredible tones and amazing melodies

  • they're rail pickups

  • great song,

  • it sounds so strat-like, even though he has humbuckers in single coil format. does he have a coil tap in his guitar?

  • In fact there is only one humbucker , in the bridge position . Middle and neck pickups are hum-cancelling single coils .

All Dimarzios , custom one on the bridge , and in middle and neck is Cruiser .

  • Actually, they are all humbuckers. The smaller ones are just spaced for single coil slots, but they are Cruisers.

  • If by humbucker you mean they're noise-cancelling, then yes. But i'm quite sure it's not a "humbucker" pickup. They're definately cruisers, and cruisers are definately single coils, unless you managed to place to single coils next to each other, and take up the room of one.

Not really possible is it? =P

  • No, they definitely are humbuckers spaced like single coils. Check out dimarzio's website. Besides, they have two coils, so how can they possibly be single coils?

  • lol. anything is possible. look at steve morse's guitar. he has a humbucker alongside a single coil in the bridge position. that's like, a tri-bucker. aha. but yes, they are "humbucking" single coils. the two metal bars and the hum-canceling make it sound like a humbucker, but it has a single coil wrapped around the pickup. hence the name "humbucking" single coil pickups.

  • you can always place them one above the other.

  • Exactly. Or even still side by side. They are just "thinner" than normal pickups, so two coils take up the space of a normal single coil. There are plenty of humbucking pickups that are single coil sized.

Even see a Duncan Hot Rail or Scorcher? Same deal. I believe the guys from Iron Maiden use them. They play Strats, which single coil slots, but the pickups are most definately humbuckers.

  • Actually that's very possible and in fact exactly what a Cruiser is...

  • I'm gonna be totally honest. I know literally every piece of equipment Andy uses. I am a student of a guy who is working with Andy himself. Andy is truly amazing. He has a great taste for tone, style and melody. He has the most amazing feel and goes beyond the norm of every other guitarist that I've ever heard. I can't wait to see him perform again at the Dallas guitar show. Andy rules.

  • Sto ancora a piange.. sentite come suona questo.. non ho parole

  • Soprattutto nel solo improvvisato..

  • Timmons is other level no practice

  • He actually started designing his sound with hughes & kettner in 1993'ish but yeah eventually switched rigs

  • how to get such a sound out of a guitar?

  • A good pickup and a great amplifier...

  • its the mesa's

  • practice

  • a tip would be nice..

  • :) it's actually that simple; practice

if you REALLY want to be REALLY good, you'll find the time to practice, be it running scales up and down the neck or just jamming to your favorite songs, anything helps, just as long as you spend time playing guitar with an intent to play sthing better than you ever did. And then better than that etc. Of course, you won't sound like Andy with a unplayable guitar and a dreadful amp, but no piece of equipment can make a lousy guitarist sound great. Practice.

  • thanks dude.

  • It really is much more than practice however. There are players that can play a ton of scales and chords but can't put it all together in a meaningful, musical way.

It's very important to aim for perfect practice instead of aimless practice.

I'm speaking from experience here. It's very easy to think you are practicing when you are actually just going over what you've already mastered and are not really improving. You're just "practicing".

At a point you stop practicing and make music.

  • Very true. I've learned MUCH more by just playing around with other musicians than I have by just sitting in a room and "practicing."

Improvisation, with good sense (else it becomes wankery), is an excellent learning tool.

  • lol, u gotta say some good guitar wankery can be a laugh though, and with improv 'battles' so to speak you can end up coming out with some scarily good solo's which u wouldn't be able to whiles playin tamely

  • He uses the Dimarzio Cruiser, BB Xotic Preamp and Mesa Lonestar. Rig from heaven :)

  • Mesa Boogie has a video of Andy and his rig, and he explains everything he uses, including settings...actually kinda cool

  • he also uses a stilleto amp

  • Practicing is great, but won't get you this sound alone.

He has some high quality pickups and amplifier , not to mention all the electronic transmission devices between.

There's a video on this site where he explains everything about his rig.

  • thanks

  • de quien es el tema original??...who's made the original song?

  • de andy timmons

  • the first time to see Andy. Superb!!!

Somehow his behaving reminds me of Eric Johnson.

  • Super Kool... andy timmons rocks.....

  • Andy has been around for 20 years- he has doen touring session work for a bunch of artists and is hardly a "new" guitar king.

  • take out new and its still like I said;

    bam...bing

  • that harmonic stuff he does is nuts.

  • whats this at a senior center
