i listened. sorry i don't agree. reri is a coloratura soprano who spent most of her time in opera. barbra is not an opera singer although her voice is quite amazing.. the two voices are completely different. while i think reri has a great voice i still think barbra's version is better and for me it's because it seems to have more humanity. there is a richness/warmth in barbra's voice that few female singers have. i don't get that from listening to reri's version.

I admire her range, her vocal strength and technique but for me I personally don't hear warmth and emotion. I grew up in a house with a mom who adored Streisand and she always raved about her too. None of the pathos that marked Garland voice is present in Streisand's FOR ME. I do hear warmth in Reri's version too, I also hear it in Hudson's voice. Personal choice I guess :)

Impressive and gloriously sung. However I would suggest to learn how to give more refinement to her singing, more pathos and meaning to the words. Singing "piano" would be appreciated too in certain passages. She sings everything with too much strength and she may over-use her precious voice in the long run. I hope not, cuz it's an amazing voice and a terrific Lady. Best wishes to her.

Just because a singer demonstrates powerful dynamics doesn't mean that they are screaming. Projecting from your diaphragm is always going to produce much force and vibrance while everyone's voice is going to produce different timbres when they evoke that kind of power. I sincerely wish non-vocalist would educate themselves a little before being extremely critical of others, especially Jennifer.
