This is Thai, but both instruments are related, but different. The original one is not Chinese though. It comes from Central Asia if I am not wrong. Google and you will find an aswer.
@ShoppingBargains Maybe I should say it's a hillbilly instrument from the Ozark mountains in America since we play them here? lol There is a version of it in almost every country and like someone said it comes from the old Persian central Asia.
