Not only was this a great contribution to the output of that year but the overdriven overtones Pete got on this track predate Hendrix's debut album of May 67. Hard to believe but I bought both at the time and my memory would have sworn Jimi was first - but no. Such a great band and Pete is up there with the best writers.
Astonishing guitar playing from Townshend. It sounds easy enough but try playing it and getting it to chug as good as this. Fabulous feedback control at 1:39 too.
@wiraturboWKQ Hey, I like this song and if it is like The Hollies that is a compliment; I love both The Who and The Hollies. I think it is a great song with nice guitar licks and a nice early song of theirs.
