Very good vid here guys:-) I have a polo GTI 6n2, was wondering if it was basically the same idea as the jetta? Any answers would be appreciated, thanks :-D
@kulivtec The headlights on your vehicle would be mounted differently. We currently do not have a video that shows this particular repair on this vehicle.
@lew389 We currently do not have an auto repair video on that particular model. You should be able to access the back of the headlights through the engine compartment without having to remove the bumper cover.
I have a quick question (that I haven't yet gotten an answer to from anywhere else) since this video has to do with removing the bumper: Is the rub strip section on the bumper held on by clips? And is it easy to pop out?
I need to put a new rub strip on my car and it'd be a golden piece of help if I knew how it all works, before I end up taking off my front bumper to survey it
Thank you for taking the time to make this video, it was a huge help. I am sure I would have figured it out on my own but watching this video made it a breeze. Thank again!
This was a really great source of info. The small metal cap on the headlight reflector had detached itself on my English VW Bora (same as the Jetta). Thanks to your instructions I was able to get the headlight out of the car and re-attach the metal cap.
Made and easy job even easier. Helps to know where all the clips, bolts and screws are located. After watching this job took less than 30 minutes! Much Thanks!!
Thanks for the video, fantastic, i replaced my sons damaged headlight with no problem saved me loads of hassle. Exactly the same as his english vw Bora
Thanks for this video. If you just want to replace the bulb but keep the same headlight, do you have to go through the same procedure (ie bumper removal)? It looks like you'd have to remove the battery at minimum.
Nice vid thanks, Could have done a better job when putting the grill back in though. That seems like the trickiest part and I could of used a zoom in on that. Otherwise great stuff.
@Punabenz The passat should be similar. If you come to a point where it is not working, don't force it. Take a step back and look from a different angle to see if you are missing something.

On a mark4 golf is it necessary to remove the bumber and the whole headlight to change just the bulbs? Thanks!

Is mounting on a golf 4, 2003 a lot different from this?
mbb3 2 months ago
@mbb3 There should be three bolts that need to be removed in order to replace them.

@thetwopointslow Usually things like that are held it with tabs or clips. It shouldn't be to difficult to remove.

Dude... I have to take half of my car appart to change a light bulb!?

is it similar to 2002 Passat TDi ??? thanks
TheFL370 4 months ago
@TheFL370 The Passat's headlight design is different from the Jetta. The mounting locations more than likely will be different.
