  • @ 4.01 .............THE KING OF THE RIM Vintage James crawford .... I remeber when he did that dunk i rewound and paused it SO many times , i stretched the blank vhs that mum had recorded it on for me , she got so pissed at me ...... But DAMN it was worth it !!!

  • Ah the good old days!!! Primetime 830pm TV coverage on weekends for those who couldnt get a ticket! Great players, Hard, uncomplicated basketball (see Marty Clarke smash Pinder setting a pick 4:37).

JC's trademark dunks....huge but the one on Pat Reidy 4:03 huge!

  • anyone got any vids from the 2000 nbl finals??? id really appreciate it

oh yeah and cats 5 time champs!!!! suck on that sixers and tigers

  • The Perth Wildcats Golden era...Almost unbeatable.

Ent Cent just to be packed to the rafters and the atmosphere was magic evry homegame. Perth couldnt get enough of The Wildcats in the 90's.

Still got a blockmounted Emu Gold poster featuring Ricky,James and Mike.Good memories...!!!

  • This was the Wildcats golden era. The Black Pearl was coach and we had JC, Tiny Pinder and Ricky Grace in our starting five. Probably the best three imports to ever play on the same team. I was only a kid but I remember the PEC would be rockin' for Wildcats' home games. Our major sponsor was also Emu Export! lol

  • 4:02 nasty.

  • yep, you dont see that in the nbl anymore

  • Anyone remember what the cheerleaders were called in the early '90s? I had a huge crush on them as a kid and they're still like wow when I saw a glimpse of footage of them now. Classy women. They used to broadcast clips of them, if anyone has any please upload. :(

And those days with the Wildcats were magic. Granted, they're no NBA but the talent in the NBA is beyond dreamers. The NBL is down to earth basketball, something people could aspire to, and something fans of the sport should support.

  • they were the town & country dancers

  • JC was my favourtie player from when he had a stint at the Cannons when I was a kid growing up in Canberra. That dunk at 4:00 was some nasty shit.

  • Awesome video.

  • Tiny Pinder led the NBL in scoring for 6 years. He also played for the charlotte hornettes in 1988, leading the team in assists and rebounds

  • Neither of those things is true. He did lead the NBL in both scoring and rebounding in 1985 though, when he played for the Sydney Supersonics and was named in the All-NBL First Team.

He was drafted to the NBA in the 5th round in 1979 but never played.

  • yep..b4 he went to prison

  • then he came back 4 Illawarra. He also was a former Harlem Globetrotter too.

  • More like North Carolina State Uni not Charlotte Hornets. And more like 1978 not 1988. It doesn't look like he stood a foot onto an NBA court.

  • Great vid,Thanks for the 'ol memories flashing back!! Luv ya "Watto",what a legend!! For us lucky enough who lived and experienced those days,we all surely agree back then the wildcats were huger than the eagles, and it was an era yet to be relived,if ever!! Note haha the emu export advertising in the lane, how times have changed!! Long live the good ol days of perth basketball :)

  • Man those were the good days, remmember when we used to pack out the Ent. Centre...what happened to basketball in OZ?

  • loved the old school snakepit. my team plays there in two weeks. not as many people will be tere though

  • what teams have u coached?

    u-12 girls dont count.

  • NBL games on free-to-air TV.. those were the days lol

  • great video mate !!!! all them guys are legends !!!! can't believe that was almost 20yrs ago!!!! jc , grace my all time hero's!!!!! would kill for a signed jersey!!!!!

  • Ricky Grace = wildcats legend

  • Awesome vid. Thanks for the upload!

  • JC @ 4:00... reminiscent of CHOCOLATE THUNDER

  • that is a sweet finish.

  • Easy to see why the Cats dominated the 90s, even old TT could get up!

  • Awesome. JC was unstoppable.

  • Love the old-school NBL highlights! Got any more?

  • Not yet, but I will be trying to collect some more over the coming months & upload any good ones to YouTube.

  • Thanks. I would appreciate it if you included elements of the Channel 7/Channel Ten coverage, such as graphics and theme music, as well as game highlights.

  • ricky grace you leg3nd
