Your son is very cute, and reminds me soooo much of my own. He is 4, but it is hard to find a video that is Max. He will be into lights, and point out what the lights do, or a fan, and reinact this for us. I can see him doing this too, how old is Noah?
@Maxmama77 Noah is now 11 years old. This was back a few years.....so he was much younger. Noah always points his video cameras up to lightbulbs before filming and tells me that the light makes his batteries last longer when recording. The WEIRD thing is....before he exposes it to the light it might show 5 minutes recording time...and after it shows like 11 minutes! SO not sure what happens or how that works but it does add minutes to his battery life!
back then he did yes. He was obsessed with videotapes and putting them in to rewind them. I think he liked the sound it made also. He no longer cares about this anymore.
I am a single father of a 4 year old autistic child who is my entire life. Well, today I let an employee w/ a bad attitude go and following that, this person said the most insulting (and disgusting) thing I have ever heard. This sicko pointed reference to "my stupid autistic daughter!"
Going to see who would like this person's contact info so perhaps she can hear from other parents and those who are affected by with autism how they feel about comments such as this?
my son pretends too in different ways. depends on the tv show or cartoon he's watching. like when he's watching thomas and friends, he pretends he's a train too and copy the trains' expression on tv. when he's watching about ducks, then he pretends to be a duck. he doesn't talk much yet he's 3 yrs and 9mos as of today. thanks for sharing your video.
Doesn't look very autistic at all. He is interacting, eye contact, talking. I would say ADD, which is part of the autistic sprectrum, but not true autism. Your son is your videos, is very beautiful, intelligent, and your a very lucky Mum. xxxxxxxx
thanks...but he does have autism. He was diagnosed with infantile autism back in 2005....along with sensory integration disorder and generalized anxiety disorder....speech language delay and hypotonia, hyperflexible joints. I don't think I was trying to tie in his behavior here with autism in any way..other than at this time in his life he was obsessed with videotapes and rewinding them...
I wish my son spoke. I think the problem is and this includes me, if one sees a child not as bad as their own they start to suggest it is not as bad. Obviously you have tried very hard with your son and I hope he continues to improve. My son is severely autistic and it is hard really to know where to start. : ) Best wishes and thanks for your messages.
Well...believe it or not Noah also did not talk until he was between 4 and 5 years of age....and then it was not all that much and very very hard to understand. We taught him some basic sign language for awhile and that helped. However....even with his huge lacks starting out Noah has probably always been considered by most to be more high functioning. I run into problems now at the schools...because many don't see much difference at all now except his behaviors. That can be good and bad.
That was rude herelam0000. Don't you think there is enough snobbery? Autism is a spectrum.
I hope you don't think only your son has autism and anyone else who has children on the spectrum aren't autistic because they eventually learned how to talk.
oh.....and his eye contact was a work in progress...still is to some degree....but he is so MUCH BETTER than he used to be. MOST NOW would no longer recognize the child he was before....he has improved so much! THANKS for the comments by the way!

Wow, he is so insightful! I don't know a lot of kids that would be that - aware - of how a tape works. Awesome!
