  • I like the claves

  • ???????///

  • .............

  • Brian Eno is really a great artist - very weird and hypnotising music.

  • This song reminds me of what a bad trip feels like.

  • Holy shit, TREES!!!!!!!!!!!

    RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My tree has just eat my fucking dog!!!

  • Sounds like good music for a suspenseful movie

  • Totally weird - but a great track. It seems to evoke a south american jungle experience. There are many other similarly strange - but great tracks on the album.

  • What if I tell you people, that this song is from 1975? Hmm? Well?

You genius Brian, you was way in front of the others.

  • at seven years old igot lost in a forest.the sun went down so fast and i did nt know which way was home.this is pretty good soundtrack to that.love it!

  • @MrFireballxl500 i like your story. :)

  • Brian Eno is amazing

  • The trees, they be whispering and whispering, knowing when doom strikes....OH GOD DO THEY KNOW!!!!!!

  • Eno paints an evocative picture with music, "In Dark Trees" never thought it to be scary.

  • inevitability and acceptance

I've never listened to this with any sense of foreboding

take it as a lesson about desire

  • im buying this album

  • i dont know why but this video scared the shit out of me

  • The comments seem to reflect the music to me, it's kind of like an anxious piece of music, like people paranoid and getting very primal/defensive about their views, anything and everything is an attack against you. Reflects the music very well, actually.

  • yeaie.±♪

  • spooky and beautiful

  • Been chasing this piece of music ever since Adam Curtis used it in one of his documentaries

  • Het is opzich wel interessant hoe een paradoxale metafoor tot stand komt binnen een op het eerste gezicht voor de hand liggend idee.

  • The Best Of British.

  • What a brilliant idee, this video.

  • Looks like Plastikman

  • that's actually kind of frightening!

  • Tripping

  • siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh LAAAAAAAAME

  • Reminds me of x files episode detour, one of the best episodes of the show.

  • That's freaking me out man, totally

  • i don't know how to describe it but that second guitar phrasing is so melancholy it makes me sad

  • just like in vosburg

  • Thumbs up if Daft Punk's Electroma sent you here

  • @Mr29andMrs29 Lol no thumbs up. Ouch

  • @MalachiteR I guess they missed out on the best Musical movie ever :(...

  • you wouldn't want to have this on in the ipod on the way to the dentist.... it has a definite menace about it

  • the dark light of the trees protects us from the darkness

  • scary masterpiece!

  • There's so much pain and longing in this tune. Ahhhh, it's just achingly beautiful......

  • Cant sleep, trees will eat me.

  • scary tress

  • Amazing how modern Brian Eno's music still sounds years & years after it's original released date.

Not to many composers of this generation have this timeless quality.

  • @picchaz THATS WHY HES the BRIAN ENO

  • This is what i call AMBIENT !

  • Love the video to the music. Excellent.

  • This somewhat reminds me of Half-Life 2.

  • @AmebicSchizophrenia

F.E.A.R seems to have borrwed some of his style as well.

  • love it

  • sounds like something youd hear in blair witch project

  • great depiction of the song . Haunting Music!!!

  • British Journalist, Adam Curtis very appropriately utilized this track in one of his documentaries "The Power of Nightmares: Rise of the Politicians of Fear". At times it plays during some of the most gruesome (post-violence) scenes in the film. For this reason, this track brings up really dark associations.

  • @wakeupfist I knew I'd heard this song before in a movie... been bugging the S*&! out of me... good ear!!

  • Love this.

  • Interesting music.

  • Great!

  • trip hop

  • this one creepy tune, like it

  • gr8t olde skool eno...n trippy kewl vid also

  • it feels like a run away train to ur death

  • @ leafar

you ever try: My life in the busg of ghosts (from David Byrne & Brian Eno)?

  • once I asked our minister if reincarnation could be true, and he said he didn't know. He said he once saw a little whirlwind moving along, and when it came to a haystack it took on a body of whirling hay, and when it crossed the road it took on a body of dust, and if it had come to a pond it would have been a waterspout

  • Атмосферное видео!!!

  • dont miss the Brighton Festival as he features this year.....

  • leafar1986 ...

try vangelis ( jon and vangelis

vangelis wrote the soundtrack to the film bladerunner etc

  • Could someone recommend me more music like this, i'm really liking it, but unfortunately i don't know much about this kind of music, it's great! Thanks

  • Brian Eno spans several different genre's, however, you may find solace in the sounds of Glenn Branca, Boards of Canada, Throbbing Gristle, Pan Sonic and David Bowie's "Low" and "Lodger" albums...just to name a few. These are recommendations based upon the mood of "In Dark Trees". And Angelo Badalementi and Philip Glass, sorry. Good Listening. For a start.

  • @leafar1986 try out 'Aphex Twin (ambient works)' or some 'Future Sound Of London'.

  • where was this filmed?

  • THIS IS THE POINTBREAK....hi from Italy

  • This is a state of mind.

  • this music...really freaks me out..

  • If this freaks you out then you've heard nothing yet lol try this out... Kammarheit - "A Shadow Among Shadows" ... sounds like someone walking round inside your head

  • i can' t find it...could you send me a link?

  • yeah man sure... It is GOD damn hard to find tell ya what add my msn address and I'll send you it... I don't think a stream of the track even exists on the internet lol, check your inbox on here

  • He's on myspace.

Search in myspace music theres a few songs there.

  • This song's awesome! I like the footage you chose to go with it...I assume you shot it too?

  • just smoked weed this song is so spooky

  • sometimes i go on youtube just to read the comments that people have to say.

    hahaha. pretty fun

  • I do that all the time!!!

  • WTF!! every time i pic a song the music isn't aloud!!

  • Give people democracy and free expression and all they do is abuse each other!! It's like Lord of the Flies on Youtube comments. Play nicely children.

  • @neshirl Part of free expression is the freedom to criticize.

  • @Vaeocyn shes talking about abuse. motherfucker.

  • @neshirl Seconded. There is a dark side to free will. It lies in the nature of choice. Not every choice is a wise one.

  • @neshirl

Its one of the worst things about (popular) internet communities like this one. No one can be held accountable for what they say. Discussions would be very different if the people in them had to see eye to eye

  • yes but what would be the point? in real life you waouldnt actually get angry if someone said i dont like brian eno or i want to fuck your child thats what online trolls are for!

  • @neshirl

Your year old comment is condescending.

  • @epiksonik this person has a point tho. people have a strong urge to belittle other people's thoughts.

  • @tharbk01

his/her point is made invalid when he/she becomes what he/she is criticizing.

    I'm no one's child.

  • Such a great album-

  • Insert well constructed and complicated paragraph with big words in the aim of making self look smart thus validating pointless argument here.

  • You're spot on, boob!

  • @YouBoob85 god i cant stand people like that

  • @YouBoob85

Hehe, I see what you did there.

  • @YouBoob85 Insert belligerent and opinionated slur unfounded in any real meditated thought here.

  • damn

  • Reminiscent of Jeff Waynes war of the worlds. Powerful music, not for those of a closed mind.

  • Irena,

Some people are in a profound sense of wonder over their existence and environment (in a broader sense). Some are less artistic and live in a world defined by pop culture.

You are just the later. It is not your fault but it is your problem.

  • Comment removed

  • Irena,

What is wrong with pretensions? Just because pretensions look pale under the light of a harsh reality does not mean we should negate it. That is one of the perks of a comfortable life. Next, you will be attacking idealism. Why not?

If I missed the mark, tell me why you hate this piece so much.

  • Don't embellish pretention with that verbose banality. I won't attack idealism actually, because idealism is very different from pretention. You have this idea of a perfect world, which is fine but the issue here is that you believe it to be an actuality, which it isn't. You live in this imaginery world where on the exterior, things are a mess, but in your head it's perfect because you have the music of Brian Eno to savour. Wake up from this bizarre illusion before it's too late, schizo!

  • What do you think the purpose of music is and what makes you think I am not socially and politically aware?

Maybe the reality is you need an illusion before it is too late for you.

  • Hahaha! I'm embarrassed for you. You are a clown.

  • My last comment was directed at Irena (who else)

  • id like see your definition of reality. science could also probably tell you that the one you imagine is as good as the 3d one we unfortunately have to collectively share. There is no tragedy or illegitimacy in willing the imagination to be true for you, and this ephermeral state would be saner than rubbish that serves as culture nowadays. People freebasing Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and advertising are the real mass monsters letting the earth go to shit .....

  • Good point, I'm not arguing. That's fair enough. Now, suck my cheesy helmet.

  • Oh god ive read about people like you ! let me guess your a deeply profound artist who is just too dam deep and sensitive for us dumb asses, we just dont get it were just trapped in the shallow material world of greasy capitalism for FUCKS SAKE IVE HEARD IT TOO MANY TIMES NOW i bet our a religious fucking freak too going on about how shallow the world isbecause it doesnt except some "deep and meaningful" theory that has NO EVIDENCE IN REALITY WHATSOEVER, yes your so deep for believing such crap

  • It's almost threatening to the ears; this is pure alien magic.

  • timeless music, better than most of todays crap

  • I feel so scared, like someone could just come behind and rip my head of

  • I wanted to, but I couldn't open your backdoor, is there an extra lock on that one or something?

I'm sitting in your garden right now with my laptop.

  • Nooo *faints*

  • hearbreakingly beautiful

  • One of the greatest instrumentals of all time

  • AGREED.

  • youtube should add a replay function, even if its just for this song!

  • Comment removed

  • right on

  • This type of music allows my imagination to run wild! GREAT!

  • Eno makes me think of science. cool stuff.

  • addictive

  • thanks guys........and know back to the song !

  • I didn't see any UFO's.

  • global consideration!!!

  • un alma inquieta en un mundo explosivo. calma despues de la tormenta.

    un genio unico.

  • eerie

  • ...misticamente inquietante...

  • thank you Eno for providing the thinkers music to think to.

    thanks for not being egotistic.

  • cool

  • I didn't realize this until now but this song was the soundtrack for the documentary "the Power of Nightmares." I suggest you all see it!

  • and you can see Eno in the third big tree on the left!

  • god damn!

  • unreal footage.

  • The video suits so nicely.

  • This is where YouTube is such an interesting meeting place. People communicating and expressing themselves in unexpected ways.

  • I think lariojaboquense said "A quiet place in an explosive world. Calm after torment - a unique genius"

  • i wasnt responding to him

  • Then again, it also a place where those with very little to offer attempt to reclaim an ounce of power that they otherwise never feel in life outside of the internet. These are the people that should be pitied, poor little albatr0n (for instance), possibly (though highly unlikely) one day you too will be capable of intelligent thought and expression. Now off to your rap and boobie videos, this is a video for grown-ups.

  • now your trying to sound smart. pathetic

  • A fine contributor to society you are, young man, BRAVO!

Do you have anymore clichéd internet tough-guy hackneyed sayings left in your canon besides "shut the fuck up" or are we left to marvel at your previous work?

  • oh my god... :l

  • lmfao...

  • @TheListeningChamber I feel like a voyeur reading sometimes...and I agree. But imho most predictably outrage and trolling....people.

  • wow this is like going to hypnotize me

  • perfect
