The 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 proves through simple arithmetic, in which a little child can understand, of the exact year Christ would be anointed for ministry and the exact year of His crucifixion 3 1/2 years later. The commandment of Artaxerxes (Ezra 7) was given in 457 B.C. to restore Jerusalem and the temple. 69 weeks later (483 years) in the year 27 A.D. Christ was baptized. The last 7 years (70th week) then began leading to 31 A.D. the year Jesus died.

If time began around 4000 BC (according to the bible) then what about all the million year old bones (Homo Erectus and all the earlier one than that? We know that theses bones are scientific fact!!!!!

I've read the Bible many times

over a 40-year career of pastoring and teaching the Bible.

The prophecies are vague and unfulfilled,

and many of the events in the book simply never happened

(such as Herod's "massacre of the innocents").

According to your book of myth,

Jesus is king of the earth TODAY.

And, frankly, I'm not too impressed with the results.

The prophecies are unfulfilled? The massacre of the innocents is not disproven, it is just not proved. Jesus is obviously not the king of the earth today, but that is one way of reading into the "end times" I am a futurist, and believe the events are still to come. I am sorry that you got burnt out with teaching the Bible. I will pray for you.

Let's say that it is not mentioned in any of the histories of that time, though they tell us what kind of cup Herod drank wine from. "Jesus is obviously not the king of the earth today" Correct. Yet Jesus predicted ""Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom." Matthew 16:28 And that didn't happen either.

You can be as "futurist" as you like, but with no past victories or fulfillments to base that on, it's a pretty shaky edifice. Jesus said that his disciples would be known by their love, and THAT has certainly not happened. He prayed that his followers would be "one, even as you and I are one" yet today there are over 40 THOUSAND denominations! I did not get burned out, BTW. You are just making yet another uninformed assumption. I woke up, my eyes were opened.

Notice that the first god does NOT have a capital first letter, and is followed by Christ and God WITH a capital first letter. I am sorry that you wasted 40 years not understanding the Word of God. @VicJones01 Vic, you are arguing from ignorance. Both of the "god" words here are the Greek word "theos." The Greek language has no capital letters. This "G" was added by the KJV editorial staff and does not reflect the original text. I note that you have carefully avoided each of the facts I offered, preferring instead to give me an irrelevant and erroneous sermon. Typical, but not honest nor useful. The lack of Christian unity debunks Jesus, prayer, and Christianity.
