I'll be honest, I thought the actors (specifically Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber who played Sabretooth, and Ryan Reynolds, etc.) acted very well. My biggest problem was really the uninspired script, which didn't take much inspiration from the comics. Good film nonetheless, but a little bit of a disappointment.

Oh wire work, yeah that's terrible stunt direction right there. It's shit tons better than CG and you know actually takes an amount of talent from the stunt team and the cinematographer, it's not just simple 'we'll fill in the stuff later' bs like with CG. If you're gonna complain about the use of practical effects like wire work get out of reviewing films guys, especially when the CG in this film is downright terrible.

The bulk of the movie was the last fight scene with DP. Again,,,,just more action. Im guessing i loved it since i dont read the comics or watched the cartoons until i was like 7 or 8, so i guess i was just expecting a great movie and that is what i got...
Bullshit, this movie was way better than 2.5 stars, great story, great pacing, exciting the whole way through, the fight scenes could have been more memorable but the last one is just awesome.
4/5 easy, great film, will be BUYING it on dvd when it comes out, for the awesome film and all the extras.
This movie really let me down! I'm a big fan and looked forward to seeing it, going back to last summer. What it it boils down to is this is a "ok" movie thats all. When I think of how rich Wolverine's story line is via comics and cartoons, they missed the boat. Hugh still does a wonderfull job, but the writing and directing sucks the fat one!
I gave the movie 3 outta 5 personally. I am a comic geek myself, but after almost 10 years of comic book movies my expectations are understandably low now. Bottom line is this. I you go expecting to see 100% commitment then you WILL be dissapointed. My only real problem was with some of the CGI and action sequences.

Yeah, this movie was definitely a missed opportunity. If done right, it could've gained the recognition that Dark Knght gained. Wolverine is an amazing character and most people who will go see this movie are either comic geeks like myself, or people who only know the X-Men from the movies. They tried packing in too much of his story into a not even 2 hour long movie. They should've done an adaptation of the Wolverine: Origins comic. Would've been way better that way to start with.
Then they could've moved on to doing a sequel od him getting the adamantium, and go into his past about being on Team X. Many of the characters weren't even done correctly in this. Agent Zero for one wasn't Agent Zero to begin with. He was Maverick in the beginning on Team X and became Agent Zero later and he wasn't Asian either. He was German.

That's the best way to describe it: an action packed missed opportunity. Casting choices that made no sense, classic characters that were beyond short changed and my favorite - no one really looks like the character they're playing. The Blob is a classic X-Men villian and he gets one scene and looks like Fat Bastard. As far as Sabretooth, Deadpool and Gambit...I didn't see anyone in this movie that resembled them. Obviously the filmmakers don't read comics.
Yes, I found it funny how so many people do not notice how messed up the time line was! The Gambit thing especially. But also, how about how there were 09 models of military hummers. When Hummer was only founded in 1992! Yet all the later parts of the film are in the early-mid 80s!

Deadpool isn't going to appear in a mask soon after his non-finished surgery with all that mergining going on his body parts. Get over it! Ryan Reynolds was awesome as Deadpool.. and the fight between Victor & Jimmy against Wade was a really good fighting scene.

I thought making dead pool made an excellent person to play as the guy they transformed because I think his swordsman skills and his agility ties in with it and if it wasn't for those skills then wat would he do.

It was a pretty decent flick, but a lot of people either went in with heightened expectations and a very limited suspension of disbelief. The special effects were the most disappointing thing about the movie though.
What I don't get is that they say they will remove his memories by shooting him in the head so I think 'ok I guess it will fuck up his brain and then it will heal' and then they do it and the bullets are in his forehead...then they heal up...so he forgets everything when the bullets didn't even touch his brain. Basically the plot is riddled with so many holes that it is sinking to the bottom of an ocean of shit.

Wade wilson isn't deadpool, after wade wilson gets deformed by having wolverine's power integrated into him, he is turned into deadpool. It deforms his body and twists his mind. Weapon XI is before he is deadpool, but after he is wade wilson. What people are mad at is how all of those extra powers were thrown into him and the fact that he is unable to talk. If deadpool has anything, it's a loud mouth.
I agree,But in one of the 'secret' endings(after credits) deadpool (or weapon 11) grabs his head (and i guess the fall ripped his mouth open) and says 'ssshhh'.

Bullshit, this movie was way better than 2.5 stars, great story, great pacing, exciting the whole way through, the fight scenes could have been more memorable but the last one is just awesome.
4/5 easy, great film, will be BUYING it on dvd when it comes out, for the awesome film and all the extras.

This movie really let me down! I'm a big fan and looked forward to seeing it, going back to last summer. What it it boils down to is this is a "ok" movie thats all. When I think of how rich Wolverine's story line is via comics and cartoons, they missed the boat. Hugh still does a wonderfull job, but the writing and directing sucks the fat one!

I gave the movie 3 outta 5 personally. I am a comic geek myself, but after almost 10 years of comic book movies my expectations are understandably low now. Bottom line is this. I you go expecting to see 100% commitment then you WILL be dissapointed. My only real problem was with some of the CGI and action sequences.

Yeah, this movie was definitely a missed opportunity. If done right, it could've gained the recognition that Dark Knght gained. Wolverine is an amazing character and most people who will go see this movie are either comic geeks like myself, or people who only know the X-Men from the movies. They tried packing in too much of his story into a not even 2 hour long movie. They should've done an adaptation of the Wolverine: Origins comic. Would've been way better that way to start with.

Then they could've moved on to doing a sequel od him getting the adamantium, and go into his past about being on Team X. Many of the characters weren't even done correctly in this. Agent Zero for one wasn't Agent Zero to begin with. He was Maverick in the beginning on Team X and became Agent Zero later and he wasn't Asian either. He was German.

That's the best way to describe it: an action packed missed opportunity. Casting choices that made no sense, classic characters that were beyond short changed and my favorite - no one really looks like the character they're playing. The Blob is a classic X-Men villian and he gets one scene and looks like Fat Bastard. As far as Sabretooth, Deadpool and Gambit...I didn't see anyone in this movie that resembled them. Obviously the filmmakers don't read comics.

Yes, I found it funny how so many people do not notice how messed up the time line was! The Gambit thing especially. But also, how about how there were 09 models of military hummers. When Hummer was only founded in 1992! Yet all the later parts of the film are in the early-mid 80s!

at least wires are better than cgi, i thought the fight scenes were believable and honestly Leiv Schriber did a great job with the role, i can imagine his script didnt give him much to work with. ryan reynolds was a great deadpool but he was never a pretty boy and they just fucked his character up at the end, which was the biggest dissapointment. the blob was terrible and they skipped alot but it was a decent adaption. but damn, xavier just looked like play-doh at the end...

Why can't we go by the comics!? Anyone who doesn't know about the comics cannot be disappointed because IT IS STILL AN ACTION PACKED FILM. PLUS! Then if they do choose to go into comic books (That is the point of these movies.) they are not CONFUSED because of some fake story line from the movies. It makes no sense.

there's two kinds of people in this world. people who like the authentic original comics or those that have never read the comics (or don't read anything for that matter) and prefer "action movies." watchmen was a great comic masterpiece who focused on things that actually make you think. the x men comic books had political and philosophical themes on race at a crucial time in racial politics. action movies today are just out for a quick buck. nice reviews guys.

Deadpool isn't going to appear in a mask soon after his non-finished surgery with all that mergining going on his body parts. Get over it! Ryan Reynolds was awesome as Deadpool.. and the fight between Victor & Jimmy against Wade was a really good fighting scene.
Part of it is true about these guys talking about the wires.. this movie would have been good without em.

i totally disagree i thought the action was good and victor runs on all fours coz dats how a wolf pounces i do agree with the random mutants thrown in when ever possible tho but most of them had a reason being there. i wish they would have made it a 18+ tho i no its probilly not gd for muny but it needed blood and gore and the hole diamond girl thing makes me laugh.

I'm glad that gambit played as big a role as he did. I'm hoping for a gambit origins movie to expand on the character more overall I thought it was an excellent movie, I enjoyed it more than X men 2 and 3 and I reckon it was at least equal to if not better than the first X men movie

What I don't get is that they say they will remove his memories by shooting him in the head so I think 'ok I guess it will fuck up his brain and then it will heal' and then they do it and the bullets are in his forehead...then they heal up...so he forgets everything when the bullets didn't even touch his brain. Basically the plot is riddled with so many holes that it is sinking to the bottom of an ocean of shit.

Wade wilson isn't deadpool, after wade wilson gets deformed by having wolverine's power integrated into him, he is turned into deadpool. It deforms his body and twists his mind. Weapon XI is before he is deadpool, but after he is wade wilson. What people are mad at is how all of those extra powers were thrown into him and the fact that he is unable to talk. If deadpool has anything, it's a loud mouth.

Now I'm much as a big x-men/ wolverine fan then anybody. I didn't hate this movie it just they messed up deadpool. They made him look like baraka from mortal kombat. If they would of made him just like the comic. This movie could of been EPIC. Rotten Tomato, gave it a 37... out of 100.. The dark knight got like a 94. Ign seem to agree with the the general public. It just wasnt that good....

Weapon XI, Deadpool, and Wade are all the same character...they're trying to spin it as he looses all those "extra" powers when he gets his head cut off...Like he heals over them or something...I'm guessing it's their attempt at making fans somewhat happy with the character's portrayal in the film...
