Ok this video is old. This will only enable vista standard which sometimes is hidden if windows thinks your computer can't run it. I REALLY suggest getting windows 7 premium which is around £70 here in the uk, I'm unsure about other currency.

Microsoft is evil. Or at least their main, software department is. This just proves it. What money are they losing by not having a "Force Aero on" option on their Home Premium and Ultimate editions of Vista? You can use their mice and keyboards if you want to, but stay away from their software like the plague. I wouldn't dare use Vista as my main OS, but unfortuantely, as a hobbyist software developer I need to test my software on a Windows installation.

THERE IS A VERY EASY WAY OF DOING THAT: 1. right click on desktop 2. click personalize 3. click window color and appearance 4. click open classic appearance properties for more color options 5. choose WINDOWS VISTA STANDARD 6. after that click effects 7. and disable clear type or change it

before you go to command prompt, right click and press "run as administrator", put your pass in and press continue. then do the net stop uxsms, then net start uxsms, and you should get vista aero (not glass)

EASIEST WAY:

Right click on your desktop, go to "Personalize." Click onto Change Windows color and appearance(Something like that) then select "Windows Vista Standard." This way is WAY quicker! And, this video shows NO glass like how it should really look like.
