I made it about 2 hours early every game and could get any seat I wanted, but I preferred to get near the top because it's the best overall view with the design of the stadium. For anyone(mainly one USC fan) who thinks the announcement was the reason the crowd was pumped, that's only half right. This was the biggest crowd in stadium history, plus tens of thousands outside the stadium, vs biggest rival in a hugely hyped game. The crowd was already pumped, drunk, and insane. We were already #2 in the country and likely would have jumped USC anyway(although UF lost week b4 and that hurt chances). This was just ONE huge eruption out of many that night.

Gator Fan. I was at that game, it got pretty rowdy. I knew if we didn't score on that drive once USC lost we were toast. Turns out we did score, and we were toast anyways. In my honest judgement, play-to-play the Swamp is louder. But LSU's band is about 50x better and everyone there keys off of the band. It was awesome to go, can't wait to go to Neyland this year...

USC starting playing very badly in 2007 after they lost their starting QB and some other starters. LSU won their conference championship without their starting QB or star defensive tackle (Dorsey) or speedster Holliday. LSU was therefore clearly the superior team this year - more depth, more talent.

In response to Taylor...as for as Xs and Os and crazy plays and offensive trickery and execution and back and forth blows...no, this game didn't necessarily have that. It's just the importance of this game. Also, the way Florida and Tebow were nearly flawless for three quarters, but LSU finally became aggressive(after staying close) and overcame their own early mishaps. It was one of the greatest, most dramatic comebacks you'll ever see.
