It doesn't indicate possession. If it was South Chinese Sea = South + Chinese Sea: the South of the sea of China---> possession. The Westerners named it South China Sea for easy recognition because u were a big ass back then, other nations around the sea were relatively insignificant. Need me to teach u more? Just ask!

@MegaXpTutorials China would not allow it cause they are not interested on those Islands...They are trying to claim the whole SCS to get into the Oil fields of the Philippines which is 80 miles from Palawan (spartly is 200 miles from palawan), Malaysia's Oil field which is 70 miles from Sabah, Brunie's Oil Field which is 120 Miles (330 miles from spartley) from Brunie (300 miles from spartly) and Indonesia's Natura oil field which is 1500 miles from spartley near singapore
