@MRELTUCO2 Galicia was occupied, the only territories not occupied by the moors were the oriental part of Asturias and occidental Cantabria, there was the shelter of the visigoths who emigrated from another parts of the penninsula, and there was the beggining of the Reconquista in 722 AD. Another thing, the christians "cleaned" the islamic influence in the recovered territories. You are right, they only left buildigs and libraries, but beautiful buildings.
