THE ONE AND ONLY GRANDMASTA ROC RAIDA!!!! a true king amongst TRUE and REAL DJ's. i got nothing but maddd respekt for this kat here. there will never be another man like this man right here yo. im glad he was recognized for his talents while he was alive and got a lot of love from people around him who genuinely cared and loved this guy here. you could just stare at his hands the entire day while he fuckin rocked the turntables. a true master and a truely humble human being
It seems hiphop in general is dying. I listened mainly to underground for the past ten years (im 25 now). So I try to listen to hiphop now in days and the vibe is just gone, even old stuff that I used to listen to. It's like the spirit is gone, even from the old hiphop tracks that used to move me. The spirit of hiphop is gone.
@Crazytaru1 keep diggin in the crates yo. maybe your spinnin the same ol same ol. although classix im sure try diggin beyond the roots. get into soul, jazz, & blues. if thats not your thing check out artists like bakers of the holy bread, siah and yeshua dapoed, the arsonists, non-phixion, freestyle fellowship, and organized konfusion. im sure those cats will re-ignite the fire. dowload full albums from all those artists and watch as the spirit shakes off the dust and blazes high in the sky
Gone too soon :( I love Granmaster Roc Raida. The man is a legend so talented and fun to see play. I am so great full I got to meet him and see him play in out of all places Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. Big up to Crippled Wheel Productions who was hosting the event. He was so clean on the fadar and has a charm when interacting with his audience. I will personally do everything in my power to see your name is never forgotten.MADD SKILLS THE ILLEST Roc! Raida! kaboom we miss u I
I bought one of his DVDs on ebay, just a couple of days before he died, and I've only just got round to watching it this morning. I found myself sighing with frustration as I watched, thinking about what a massive blow his death is to Turntablism. The scene is nowhere near as healthy as it was 10 years ago, and Raida was one of the few people who wwas trying to keep it alive, by puting on his Gong Battle. I really hope the Battle is kept alive, by his family and friends. If it is, buy the DVD!!!
Rip Roc Raida BTW
