I put this code into my emulator and kept playing after the first lvl. In the coin world, Mario is really messed up and acts like those world 5 things you can ride on. I couldn't go down the pipe though.

there are codes where you get all the different suits with, this one wasn't on the list but it does act like the boot.. except you're invincible and you kill everything with one hit!

Clue by four: Game genie codes aren't built into the game... they modify the game code in unnatural ways.

It's definitely the boot. The grey coloring is because he's permanently Tanooki statuefied.

The same effect would be made by using this:

1. Enable Debug Code

2. Swich to Tanooki Mario

3. Turn into a statue

4. Switch to small Mario

5. And press A+B to toggle the Kuribo Shoe.

Actually, the Game Genie works by blocking out a certain value at a certain memory address with another value at the same address (like 0F blocking out OA at ROM memory address 0010)

The code puts on Kubro's shoe on Mario. But in levels which is not supposed to appear, it is gliched. And when the finish block is hit, the game takes Mario out of Kurbo's Shoe. But it keeps it on, so the glitch happens.
