  • Thank you for sharing this with us. People like you are the reason for the internet being so awesome. Keepin' rockin' dude.

  • great, thanks!!

  • I am so envious of your ability. And it also takes my appreciation of KGs music to another level to see these progressions demonstrated at their constructive roots.

  • Awesome! You are an awesome and very accomplished player to have worked this up by ear. Also technically very difficult. So this is quite impressive. Maybe you work on your own tunes. If not, you should!

  • Holy shit balls.

They were brilliant. Such groove and beauty and FUN.

    Thanks for the rendition. Kudos.

  • I would like to hear you just play and sing the whole song all the way though. Could you do that?

  • bravo!

  • Can't thank you enough for the great tutorial. It's on my to learn list. Your chords sound really good. Now I remember...Kevin Gilbert & Julian Lennon worked together on the Toy Matinee sound track 1989 ?. Still got the cassette tape. Still way ahead of it's time. Any how Thanks for the share. Great stuff.

    .

  • thanks for this post! I've been practicing this for a few days now. kevin gilbert songs can be quite tricky.

Since you seem to know your stuff, I need assistance if you are willing. for a few days now I have been attempting to figure out the acoustic guitar chords to "Ship" by Gnidrolog (it's on youtube). is there any way you could give it a quick listen and let me know what the chords might be? ive been thinking along the lines of F or C, but i just dont know.

  • the intro is: CM7 to Asus2 . ( or Am )

song: CM7 to Asus2 (just play A with an open B string)

    then Em / A /Em / A etc. Then G / D Em. G/ D / C Em chorus is

F / G / AM ( A9 ) rpt...( the last chord of the chorus is Am/Cbass Play an Am and play a C bass note with your pinky ) send me an email and I´ll send you a complete chord transcript. But this is enough to figure the song out. Excuse mistakes - i heard this for the first time tonight.

  • sorry, Em/ Asus2 Em / Asus2 etc on the verse, not just an ´A´chord !

  • Chorus F / G / Am or Asus2 rpt...

  • brilliant! this works.

    Thanks tons!

  • Your welcome, i´m glad to be of assistance...

  • ok I really want to learn this. Any way you can post the chords so I don't have to keep referring to this video?

always great to see other Kevin Gilbert fans!

  • Go to my website - the link is at the end of the video - follow ´links´to my KG page . you´ll find an old transcript I done there + lots of KG songs I´ve tabbed out. Get DownloadHelper plug-in for Firefox ( or IE ) rip the video, and use an .flv player to watch at your leisure.

  • this has now become a goal.

  • I´m very happy it´s become a goal for you. I hope you´ll share all the corrections you find with me and fellow Kevin Gilbert fans via YT or an email. thanks John

  • If you go to my website and follow ´links´ to my Kevin Gilbert tabs page, you´ll find a tab and links to other KG tab pages. Have fun..

  • really nice stroking....!

  • Hi guy. please can you tell me where you found the tab please...

  • I don´t have a tab - i used my ears to listen it out.

If you go to my website and follow ´links´ to my Kevin Gilbert tabs page. Thanks.

  • Thanks so much! This is great :-)

  • thanx to you I just may be able to play the damn song now! barring that one chord where you play a 'C' with fingers 2,3 and 4 though, that's a tough one for me because I suck. but thank you so much for the help. it is much appreciated.
