I live in sparwood and while I was watching Family it cut out into the warning. Pretty werid, i've only seen it happen on movies and shit. Hopefully everyone was okay.
As someone who watched and lived through the Edmonton tornado and who now lives a 5 minute drive from Airdrie, this was an all to uncomfortable reminder of that day.
Ok man.................it may not be big but that doesn't matter it could have been 50m wide and taken out airdrie or it coulda been 500m wide and not been able to take down an oak
I knew that cloud yesterday in Calgary was goign to get some action out of it at some point - it looked pretty nasty. I told my hubby that it was a supercell and he told me to stop dreaming. Happy you were safe and that there were no reported injurys.
This is the second tornado I have seen, with the first being in just about the exact same spot, 17 years ago one day earlier! I was chasing this storm for about 45 minutes before this. I drove too close to the rain shield, so I turned around and headed back south out of the rain. I only travelled about 30 seconds then pulled over again. As soon as I stopped, I could see this strange cone of dirt coming off the ground in the distance. I sure sound excited! LOL
Pretty small tornado but man i wish i was there to see it. I saw this on the weather network, the same tornado that is and it looks so amazing. What was it like?

LOL. Airdrie, Alberta, Canada was named after Airdrie Scotland. I believe they are officially sister cities now.
