  • evolve evolve evolve!!!! gotta love it! check out my channel, i got a track from dj dono and the real molloy - evolve mix 2010 (and if u like the channel then subscribe.... if u dont, cheers!)

  • Antibalas are practically all latinos, venezuelan, colombian and others. They even have african members. They consistantly play with members of Fela Afrika 70 and Egypt 80s band. IF they dont care about their skin, why in the world would you?

  • EXAAAAAAAAAAAAACLTY!!!!

  • First you should read something about Fela Kuti and the Afrobeat, then you could judge if Antibalas is just some "white guys playing africam music"

  • I remember groovin to this it was amazing.

  • ..."music is about race, not music"...

smh. antibalas incredible band with a powerful and striking perc and horn section, they make multicultural music and have multicultural band members. not to mention the fact that their only aim lyrically is expressing positive sociopolitical messages.

..."but they have white guys playing african musical instruments and ideas"...wow, think about it

  • This is Fela. Cracker copycats.

  • ur a fucking ignorant jackass, go back to your cave- you obviously regressed back to your none-intelligent self.

  • I think rtjohn is a right prat. Antibalas was formed by a hispanic guy. Who bloody cares where this style of music is inherited from. You don't see Amy Winehouse getting pestered for the style of music she sings. Or even people questioning the fact that Jimi Hendrix was heavily influenced by the Stones and Bob Dylan.

  • Man I reallly want to see these guys live.

  • hey rtjohn2448, your an idiot!

  • Seeing this makes me appreciate the brooklyn crowds more, yo. They is crazy off the hook. almost everyone gets dancing in nyc,,,,

  • awesome night!

They need to come back to evolve..

  • Fela was one of the gratest musicians of his time but how much was he recognised outside the die hard music enthusiast ? not very much if atall but I will not be surpprised if this Antibalas go on to win a grammy and then we are told that they , well did nt invent Afrobeat but they popularised it andthe only reason that will make that happen is te colur of thier skin take it or leave it it just a rerun of a bad movie we´v seen it mey times 4

  • the guys in antibalas are young, extremely talented and marketable. if they popularize afrobeat music it is for those reasons. and if more pple listen to fela kuti because of that, then who cares? at least pple are listening to good music and those artists are getting recognition. look PAST SKIN COLOR.

  • rxqueen mmmmm extremely talented an MARKETABLE mmmm I wonder what makes them marketable that could not also make other extremely talented afrobeat musicans maketable Dede mabiakw , Dele sosimi alariwo , kola ogunkoya . could it be becouse they are black or could it be becouse they are African these musicians are extremely talented but not marketable and antibalas is also extremely talented but marketable the only broblem is that the one that is maketable just happens to be white

  • they're marketable because they're diverse, and most of them are American (the lead singer by the way is a nigerian man). do your research and stop hatin'

  • one of the greatest night of my life!!!! the middle of the woods with good friends afro-beat music on mushrooms in the rain! wow.. soo good! Hope i get to see them again. Also if anyone likes afro-beat check out these guys, Mr. Something Something from Toronto!

  • eres un gilipollas

  • eres un gilipollas

  • Is Antibalas only white guys? I thought they had quite a mix. So if they did popularize it which members skin color to we attribute their success to?

  • rxqween611 new edition, then new kisd on the block mc hammaer then vanilla ice 2pack then emanem blaclk man dose something ten years latter whaite man dose the same thing only makes a whole lot more money and ten yrs dow the line he becomes the originator good example elvis presly need I say more ho! one more thing could u pls tell me how meny black contry music singers are in the top ten of county music chat ?

  • haha, dudes, relax...enjoy the music

  • That was Evolve '06 right?

  • two things stand out in music U most have rythim amd a story to tell the AFrican has both the European has non thats why they will always contineu to still our music . like as if they have not stollen enough allready

  • why do white ppl always want to do some thing black ? Rap , breakdance , soul , RnB , and now Afrobeat . soon somebody somewhere will start saying that thgey are better than the originators

  • you're fucking stupid for categorizing music as 'being black' sure it originated in africa, doesn't mean that you can't play the fuckin' music. or have soul. those "white ppl" in antibalas have more talent in their fuckin' bodies than most artists, whether black or white, period. so just shut up, and if you don't want to listen to it, then don't. but if you only will listen to something because the person who made it is the same race as its originators, then you should go back to 1950

  • rxqween611 new edition, then new kisd on the block mc hammaer then vanilla ice 2pack then emanem blaclk man dose something ten years latter whaite man dose the same thing only makes a whole lot more money and ten yrs dow the linehe becomes the originator good example elvis presly need I say more ho! one more thing could u pls tell me how meny black contry music singers are i the top ten of county music chat ?

  • It seems your problem is with the record companies and demographics. Vanilla Ice, New Kids, Eminem are three extremely poor examples of how white pple are stealing music considering none of those pple are even around anymore. IT'S MUSIC. it's meant to move your soul, and if you can't enjoy something because half of the band isn't black, then you're being ignorant and closed minded.

  • mmm rxqueen u seem to be getting the whole argument wrong the question is how come u have more white ppl playing black music and getting bloody rich of it than u have black ppl playing white music thats the question

  • you need to de-segregate music. it's not whether it's black or white, but who can play it well. mc hammer didn't invent rap, new edition didn't invent pop and 2pac sure as hell didn't come up with rap. (debbie harry was one of the first actually). and the only "white music" i can think of would be classical, which is played mostly by asian people. so, you're wrong AGAIN.

  • good clip but that white sax player with the slacks and aqua-marine button down is really friggin' annoying.

  • Omg these guys were so awesome!

That "endictment" yelling wih the drums was so intense, the vibrations went through you. It was crazy.

I think this is the most memorable performance from E7.

  • I've seen them live too, on the juicy beats festival, they are so amazing. closest thing to Fela Kuti :)

  • ...except that they're mostly white and one of the fundamental aspects of fela's music was that it was about africa and africans.

  • they're mostly white, true. Still, can't blame them for doing afro beat music. They're doin' a great job.

  • oh my god this was a good show. hope they come back.

  • Stephen Harper? This must be in Canada...No need to indite Stephen Harper, he will not be in office long enough to really screw things up, but I love the call out!

  • It's shot from the back of the stage so you can't see anything.

  • Order in the court!!!

  • what is the title of the song thier playing at the first of this video?

  • That was the best night of my life!! haha you can hear me yelling "we love it" haha ohhhh my
