I questioned my own belief when my brother was beat in his own yard, by some drug addicted cowards on Christmas Day in front of his family. Retaliation and revenge, is all i could think of. I wish i would've taken that beating instead of my brother. I wish i could of took his pain, I wish it was me who had to recover, physically and mentally and emotionally. Sorry to burst your bubble the "Sun Dance" was not historically or culturally part of Anishanabeg ceremonial ways. The Anishanabeg only arrived on the prairies in the 19th century and only received the "Sun Dance" from the Plains Cree in that time period. I agree women were not allowed to offer. But as in everything else 'women's lib'' took care of that. Anything goes now a days.
