This distinction is important. I agree that Nate in this video does some hallowing as part of his teaching to patients related to abdominal bracing. I personally try to simplify my sales pitch of this exercise to patients by telling them to "act like I was going to punch you in the stomach." This usually ends up more in the abs pushing out or co-contracting. Thanks for the feedback.
@optimisticbabe. I recommend doing it daily at least. The real benefits, though, of abdominal bracing come when you are trying to do this same activity (contracting the muscles like an abdominal brace) throughout the day so as to create a stable base from which you are doing day-to-day activities.
