From what I've heard, Ultima 7 was the best, but honestly... I don't know which one is the best, because if you look hard enough at each game, and pay attention... Each one is different, in it's own way... Most different was 9, but they're still all different from each other. I've heard a lot of people say 9 was the worst, but I've also heard a lot of people say 8 was the worst. Then there's others that was one, two, and three were the worst... Honestly none of them are best, or worst.

Ya, there will never be another computer role-playing game like Ultima. Even though the franchise is pretty much through and through, it feels like it is still pretty incomplete. I don't know what it would take to fill that void. A remake may make things worse, and at the moment wouldn't be easy to pull off with copyrights flying between two parties.

@DariakFrostmourne if you do it right, you can find reverse engineered server sources, mess with them, compile them, screw around with the scripts, run and compile the external scripts, and have your own server. You can also cut out the initial server compilation and download that precompiled. The External scripts compile every time you run the Server. I used to mess around with RunUO a bit. The Last thing I made was an exploding heal potion. :) fun times.

@DariakFrostmourne Only one I want remade REALLY BADLY, is Ultima 9. I love the game, but hate all the Plot Holes, Bugs, Glitches, Crashes, Errors, and how far from the rest of the series' storyline it is... But it's a good game, in a different way from all other Ultimas.

Actually I think this began with a puzzle in Ultima IV where you had to learn how to play this on a piano in some castle in order to get some item. I used to play it on my guitar.

This was the first song I could play on the piano. And I learned it slowly by ear over the years. I never used sheet music for Stones, but I'm sure there is some out there on the web if you look hard enough.
