I like the way he performed his form, however, I don't believe that demo on "multiple attackers" was really accurate at all. He had them attack him one at a time at a leisurely pace. Also, they paused before the other attacker tried his move.
I hate people comparing disiplines against one another. I use to be like that especially having trained in Kung Fu back in China. But now I see that it is the martial artist that should compared. I hate the term MMA. It's just martial arts. Traditional martial arts evolve over thousands of years & takes many forms as presented to us today, and it will continue to evolve long after. Now days if u know a striking art and no ground game or visa versa, u are not a complete figher.
hmm, in my martial arts when we demonstrate multiple attackers, we actually have 3+ ppl all attack you at the same time. I guess his way is good too. I'll make sure to ask each person to take turns when I'm being mugged by a gang in an alley.
"For Shaolin Gong Fu we need a big space..." Absolutely W-R-O-N-G: modern Wushu needs a big space; traditional Shaolin Forms must be performed in a limited space. The two most important principles of the real Shaolin Wugong are: "Shaolin can be practised in the space it takes to lie down an ox" and "Shaolin fights in a straight line". Take a look at Shi De Yang's or Shi De Jian's videos, for instance.
@rayvictory wtf?-.-" do you mean he is from the FEW kung fu masters that show up in fights? cause shaolin monks dont care about fighting but if they had to fight, they can leave all the UFC dead :D
@mu11champione First of all i'm not talking about shaolin monks because they are totally different. What i mean that , is that there are alot of guys on youtube claiming to be kung fu masters , and the they're getting beat up literally . I've seen alot of real life footages not tournaments on Youtube. I feel before anybody can claim to be a master, they need to show n prove .
An that is what I based my comment on . I feel like this guy reminds of kung fu guys in the 70's were taking on real life challenges at full contact . I'm talking about real street fights. In fact i know a few guys who can share alot stories .
@rayvictory dude :) there are alot of Kung Fu masters.. and you didnt talk about those people whp claim to be kung fu masters.. but you said ''This is the first Kung Fu Master that i've seen that can actually use his style in a real life situation. '' :) so you was talking about the Kung Fu Masters not those who claim to be KF masters :) KF masters are so deadly mate :) and for those monks, they can kill any of those UFC fighters of those MMA fighters
I agree with you in regards to shoalin monks because originally kung fu was meant for breaking & killing not for tournaments . But as i was making my comment , i knew what meant when i stated it . mma is really no different from a shaolin kung fu master . Because a shaolin kung fu master can be considered a mma fighter as well because they know more than one style. Just like mma with the grappling and boxing . Kung fu has that too but just different names for it .
@mu11champione LOL. I highly doubt that. Countless kung fu contestants have competed in the early days of the UFC and all of them eventually got beat down by someone who actually knew a thing or two about fighting on the ground. I think you watch too much television.
@MartialArtsCN Oh! I see. Super-secret deadly technique. "I can't use my superior kung-fu training in an MMA event because I might kill someone." *rolls eyes* Did that Kool-Aid at least taste good?
@Eastbay007 The reason why you don't see kung fu artists in MMA fights is because we don't choose to fight for show, we fight in self defence. I'm new to the sport and I hope I don't have to use what I learn in real life, because what we get taught (even at my level) can break bones (including spine), rupture arteries, and cause serious (if not fatal) injuries. Any artist who tries to show-pony his abilities in shows like they do in MMA, has instantly lost my respect.
@bloomy2293 Right.....not fighting for show. They would just rather do something more noble like posting videos of themselves in their silky pajamas on YouTube to show the world what spine-breaking bad-asses they are.
@Eastbay007 Notice how it isn't the artist that didn't post the video. Most kung fu videos posted are either documentaries, or interviews, or someone who video taped a sparring session. The other videos are Americans with big ego's and no talk. I can only think of one reason to fight, and that is to protect. Kung Fu is a way of life, MMA is just a way of being punched in the face.
@bloomy2293 Right, they allowed a TV crew to film them in their pajamas doing "deadly" technique. No ego there....and the reason they don't "talk" a great deal is because people have pretty much woke up on the whole "mystical asian martial arts" myth. I studied kung fu for a short time and there are many useful elements to, but like any other system, there were telling inadequacies when it comes to modern self-defense needs. Those holes were exposed in MMA events.
@Eastbay007 Never said what he was doing is deadly. The things he's doing is a) basic shaolin drill and b) counter drills. It's not egotistical at all, he didn't even have his students attack him at the same time Kung Fu is pretty much the mother of all martial arts, and any subsequate art will have similar elements. If you had actually studied Kung Fu, you would've realised even the most basic of drills are dangerous.
@Eastbay007 And as for BJJ, I'd really like to see it's usefulness when the opponent is holding a knife. Maybe you could grapple and impale yourself on the blade?
@bloomy2293 Have you ever actually practiced knife defense? I mean other than your partner making a telegraphed, exaggerated, and over-committed lunge? Aside from Kali, I haven't seen many martial arts address knife defense in a truly realistic manner. That being said, even good Kali instructors preach the wisdom of running away rather than directly confronting a knife threat. BJJ does have knife maneuvers and they're about as effective as kung fu's: I don't trust either art's approach.
@Eastbay007 Actually the aim of knife defense is to disarm him before he attacks. Ideally you don't even give him the chance. And if you can't disarm him before he strikes, the technique is basically the same for every weapon. Evade the strike, and counter strike on the meridian located in the wrist, and if the attacker is a big enough jackass and hyper extends his arm, snap the back of the elbow. The point of the argument is that in a real life situation, I'd rely on Kung Fu rather than MMA.
@bloomy2293 I think you need to stop drinking the Kool-Aid. But that's understandable since you've never actually been attacked with a knife. Find a buddy of yours, with reasonable size and give him a big magic marker. Have him swing at you in a realistic and unrehearsed way and you'll find out in a hurry if your little meridian counter strikes and elbow snaps will be even remotely effective. MMA styles don't make you knife-proof, but at least they don't pretend to be like kung fu fanboys.
@Eastbay007 So you would rather use (in a nutshell) kickboxing and wrestling, rather than an artform that has been perfected over centuries of use. An artform that has implements all elements of fighting, inclusive of weapons training. And you're calling me a nigger? I don't know if I should find humour in your stupidity, or pity it.
@bloomy2293 I'm sure you'll come to the same conclusions when you have a little experience under your belt (or sash), whichever it is. Find a guy who has trained a little MMA or find a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt and just to at least satisfy your curiosity, have a friendly sparring match and note how many opportunities you get to execute "deadly" technique. There's more to it than you think. I had an encounter like that in 1995 and it changed my whole perspective on self-defense.
@mu11champione What about those who were TRAINED as Kung Fu masters but are jackasses that train students who are jackasses like them and start fights with others? And if their such tough guys for being Kung Fu masters, why don't they just step in the ring in real live MMA bout or any MMA competition with those fighters if they want to prove something?
@mu11champione Sadly, it seems all the masters are jackasses, I mean if these students and instructors are being trained by them, the masters are passing it down to them therefore they are just as much trash as the jackasses
Shaolin Kung Fu springs from a Buddhist temple in China, So I am wondering why a Muslim would take up such an art... Doesn't that mean that he is an infidel and needs to be killed under the rules of his religion... This demonstration is the reason why we in Shaolin Wahnam Kung Fu school say " Flowery Fists and Embroidery Kicks", Modern day Wushu has no real place as a figthing art, only one for show..
Many Kung fu styles were created for the use of defense. If they did not work, they would have died out a long time ago. Watch ehsan's videos and see why he is able to utilize it effectively. However MMA and Street Defense are two very different things. With different rulesets as well
That would've been great, but my issue with it is that when he "fought multiple assailants" only one came in at a time. Nothing changed. Great demo anyhow, but it was just like wtf? Really?
1. I like the part where his cooperative dance partners throw half a punch and stand there while he performs a bunch of ridiculous counters.
2. This demonstration doesn't show a true attack by multiple assailants. Why are 5 waiting around while 1 of their colleagues engages the victim 1 on 1.
This is a decent demonstration in terms of a choreographed dance but it has no basis in a real confrontation. And that's the issue with Kung Fu. Fun to pretend like it's real but it's not very useful.
Well he never said he was going 6 against one, he was just doing that to save time.
Secondly, in any style, if you're facing 6 adversaries it's very unlikely you'll end the fight without getting touched.
And... what are you talking about? Kung fu (Wushu) is as useful as any other style. It all depends on how much time you dedicate into it and how passionate you are about it. At the end of the day fighters win fights, not styles.
@Verlast No it doesn't. Some forms are more practical than others. You don't see very many people in MMA using any of the nonsense this guy is teaching for a reason... it doens't work. The point is there isn't ANY style that can prepare you for a 6 on 1 attack except running away or pulling a gun. This isnt' a movie it's real life, some people here have gotten the two confused.
@opannefrank dude you start learning how to take on multiple opponents before you even reach black belt in chinese kung fu lol, my brother is second degree balck belt and when he was still a brown he could take on at least 4 average UFC trained fighters. And the reason you don't see kung fu in MMA is because it's illegal because of the danger risks, its to lethal of a fighting style to all out fight, that's why when they spar they stop as soon as they make contact
@opannefrank he just made it up as he went and besides it is just a demonstration. it actually is very useful maybe he showed those techniques because they worked for him
@powderp2010 do you think that if you could go back a thousand years ago you'd be able to fight against the fighters of that time? Do you really believe that the old is necessarily primitive? How about two and a half thousand years ago? Would you prevail over a Spartan Pangration champion single handed?
I think your very good martial Arts , very strong chi well speaker I people the talk b.s about you don' t Lear much in life & martial art critics is sign of envy .
Keep practice my friend maybe one day I w'll. Have chance to meet you.
BSA: I also practice shao- Lin . Be safe. Roberto.
if u were ever in a fight with a dozen ppl ur best chance to win that FIGHT would be to isolate them bc ive never a fight with that many ppl to take turns like that
kung fu is such BS. anyone disagree? ok, next time you get attacked by half a dozen people, use this guys' technique.... just hope they decide to come at you one at a time, and hold still while you pat them on the cheek and belly. good luck
@gijoey88 I disagree with you.OK never before a half dozen of people had attack me but 2 peole have....also Real kung fu never says:stay and kill them all You have to run and fight your way...
How gentle of these attackers to wait until he is done tieing a knot into the limbs of the previous one. Extraordinarily well mannered thugs in Afghanistan, apparently.
The style he practices is kungfu ofcourse but it is not affliated with any shaolin kungfu schools in China. Its is one of the lineages of Shoalin kungfu like Choy lee fat or Wing chun. His older brother Wahid whom Ehsan learned Kungfu is/was also very good. They practiced kungfu in peshawer Pakistan.

He doesn't parctice shoalin martial arts. His brother Wahid use to call his art Tai chi Kungfu in Peshawar, Pakistan. He learned Kungfu from his brother in Peshawar Pakistan not in Afghanistan. Ehsan and his brother must be honest about their martial arts backgrounds. Ehasn is a good martial artist. I respect him the level that he reached in the martial arts. He should have been further diepen his knowledge in martial arts But please dear Ehsan be clear which style of martial ats you did.
@sadat417 Did I say something bad that you are insulting me? Ma kudam gapi kharab zadim ki daw mezani mara brother? pish azi ki mara daw bezani bibeen ki chi nushta kadeem. Before insulting me read what I wrote here.
@hi8959 no your keep posting the same thing i means your keep saying that he learned kung fu in pakistan not in afghanistan (.he is afghan and he learned kung fu in afghanistan from an afghan master),thats all
@sadat417 Brother jan, i was in peshawer pakistan. I saw Ehsan and his brother many times where they thought kunfu lessons to Afghan refugees there. If you don't believe me ask him. In Afghanistan, you didn't have kungfu in that times. In Afghanistan you have only Taekwondo, Karate and boxing plus wresteling.
@hi8959 you see your some next pakistani. you said there was no kung fu in afghanistan such a lier ,my brother was doing kung fu in afg 23 years ago so dont say that there was no kung fu in afg.
@sadat417 I didn't mean 23 years ago, I meant in 70s. In 80s you had Kungfu Toa. I didn't hear any kungfu style in that time. But okay you are right what you are saying and I am not lier brother. I talk to you in a good manner but you don't show any respect. I am done peace brother!
@elpsychodiablo you can't learn any martial art by watching movies but shaolin kung fu is a martial art and anyone of any faith can train to learn it. To be a shaolin MONK yeah you have to be a buddhist and probably have to be invited or at least be chinese. but theres a difference between being a monk and a martial artist...I do it and im an an atheist!
chinese martial arts has no country, and no borders, it is spiritual first and foremost. This man practices martial arts honorably, why u talk shit about him?
@jinfaye i talk shit about him because i know this, CHinese martial arts has country.China . has borders . it is not spiritual first . It is gymnastic first and then other else. Shafiq is not doing shaolin. That for sure...
@170GMS Dear 170 GMS, I think you are right. He doesn't practice shaolin martial arts. One thing is for sure. He has to be honest about his martial arts background. But as far as his abilities as a martial artist concern, he is one of the best martial artists around the world. He has to further diepen his martial arts knowledge. Peace!
you don't have to compare other martial arts kun fu is front china karate japan taekwondo Korea and other so kun fu is not the mother every one is different.
He didn't try to fight them all at the same time because he couldn't. He used forms and techniques for 1 on 1 situations, which is why his students all took turns attacking him... He can't block/dodge/parry 3 kicks to different locations on his body :/
@IndoKurd Modern mixed Martial Arts grew from cage fighting contests in the 1990's where practitioners of different Martial Styles were matched pitted against each other. This is where guys like Royce Gracie with his style of Brazilian Ju-Jitsu became famous. Pankration however was an unarmed combat style used by Ancient Greek Warriors who spread the style through to India. In fact it was an Indian Master (Bodhidharma) who first brought Martial Training & exercises to Shaolin!
@Seres1091 I was only referring to Shaolin not all Martial Traditions of China given it has had the greatest influence on the Eastern Martial Arts. As you well know there have been fighting Arts since the dawn of Mans existence but that's not what the discussion was about.
He uses wing chun, which is a style form shaolin kung fu, but mainly he sues wing chun. Shaolin uses sanda for actualy/realf street fighting. Sanda is also a combat sport
@ronny22 pff.. u clearly just anyother dude who have no idea of kung fu, and u did cross the line, by just saying kung fu isn't better than MMA? Go look up on some youtubes... just go look at shoaling kung fu.. . type this in ur littlr search box
@ronny22@ronny22 you can't use MMA tactics and fighting techniques in real life combat you DUMB ASS!!! MMAs such as UFC are mostly into pinning down the opponent into the ground... MMAs nowadays lack the skills to kill using their disciplines due to ofcourse prohibitions and rules inside the ring.... man, we in the marines don't use MMA chicken shits!!! because we concentrate on killing techniques... the faster... the better...
MMA is very limited in a real life fight. in UFC, u r only allowed to use grapples, kicks and punches while in a real fight, u can use pressure points, joint brakes and much more.
@ronny22 Brock Lesnar may break my bones inside the MMA ring, but i can kill him in 5 seconds outside the corridor... you are such an idiot you filthy piece of meatsack
why everybody has to be so Racist? especially for muslim, there's no race in our religion what makes you're better is your Iman.. we're all the same just an ordinary Human.. thats all
No no it's not good at all. It's only basic training when the other oponients are not fighting back. Go see master wong! He's a truly legend master!!!!
ASSALAM-O-ALIKUM ZWANA PA DE YOUTUBE KI DE SA GHOBAL RAKHISTAI.ZAMONG DUAGANI TA SARA DE AO INSHALLAH DA TAMAM DA CHE TA BA ZAMONG DA MULK NOM ROSHANAI.PA ALLAH TALA DE SPARAM.DA ALLAH PA AMAN.
Not all are idiots like this but these days I have yet to meet any Kung Fu or Martial Artist who don't have an ego problem.

Fun to pretend like it's real but it's not very useful.
opannefrank 11 months ago
@opannefrank
Verlast 11 months ago
@Verlast No it doesn't. Some forms are more practical than others. You don't see very many people in MMA using any of the nonsense this guy is teaching for a reason... it doens't work. The point is there isn't ANY style that can prepare you for a 6 on 1 attack except running away or pulling a gun. This isnt' a movie it's real life, some people here have gotten the two confused.
opannefrank 11 months ago
@opannefrank dude you start learning how to take on multiple opponents before you even reach black belt in chinese kung fu lol, my brother is second degree balck belt and when he was still a brown he could take on at least 4 average UFC trained fighters. And the reason you don't see kung fu in MMA is because it's illegal because of the danger risks, its to lethal of a fighting style to all out fight, that's why when they spar they stop as soon as they make contact
Thathouseguy 10 months ago
@opannefrank he just made it up as he went and besides it is just a demonstration. it actually is very useful maybe he showed those techniques because they worked for him

@powderp2010 do you think that if you could go back a thousand years ago you'd be able to fight against the fighters of that time? Do you really believe that the old is necessarily primitive? How about two and a half thousand years ago? Would you prevail over a Spartan Pangration champion single handed?

Pankration is the Mother of the Martial Arts not Kung Fu!
Weston1968 1 year ago
@Weston1968
Pankration is the Mother of MIXED Martial Arts not normal Martial Arts.
IndoKurd 1 year ago
@IndoKurd Modern mixed Martial Arts grew from cage fighting contests in the 1990's where practitioners of different Martial Styles were matched pitted against each other. This is where guys like Royce Gracie with his style of Brazilian Ju-Jitsu became famous. Pankration however was an unarmed combat style used by Ancient Greek Warriors who spread the style through to India. In fact it was an Indian Master (Bodhidharma) who first brought Martial Training & exercises to Shaolin!
Weston1968 1 year ago
@Weston1968 Kung fu had been around since 3000 years during Zhou dynasty, Shaolin is only on type of kung fu; there are almost 1000 types.
Seres1091 1 year ago
@Seres1091 I was only referring to Shaolin not all Martial Traditions of China given it has had the greatest influence on the Eastern Martial Arts. As you well know there have been fighting Arts since the dawn of Mans existence but that's not what the discussion was about.
