  • fly it over area 51!!

  • what exactly do video goggles do? Im fairly new to RC!

  • wow

  • i have a question i don't know if anybody knows but , HOW DO U GOT SO LONG RANGE OF SIGNAL ? anybody? link or something? PLEASE!!!

  • Stating the obvious - incredible. How high do you estimate? Was that a roll I saw up in the clouds? Impressive stuff.

  • looks nice did u get a live fead from the camera from the rc plane ?

  • are you getting live feed from the camera on the ground?

  • We never fly too low over the water. The further out the higher, that way can glide back to recover at airfield.

  • what if it stops working and it drops into lake

  • @lvsupertech are you not nervous when you fly high?

  • 7:27 there ya go~! I'll get FPV eventually... this is good stuff.

  • @jbonnardel older video thank you for viewing.

  • What receiver are you using in your plane . I have a berg7 for fpv with 900mhz 500mw video transmitter. Do you think the berg7 is a good receiver for fpv flying. I have heard some bad things about its range with a video transmitter onboard.

  • @tflyer180 I do not know about that RX for USA hitecs ultra narrow band rx will work fine. sorry for late reply

  • what kind of plane it is and what battery du u have on it?

  • @forteleaerieneromane aircraft is a Hobbico Nexstar. The stock OS engine was a 46 size. I had installed a 52 magnum. Battery for the video system onboard is 1450 lipo. 1000 m/w 2.4 GHZ

  • did you have clearance for real traffic , ha ha

  • @pisstank07 I have found out later that I need clearence to do this in the area.

  • amazing man!! total control! congratulations!

  • @maxbugatti12345 sorry for late reply many emails. thank you!

  • Great video, 10 mins of nirvana...

  • @afanasii11 Yes thanks for viewing!

  • great video

  • @burbanboy77 Thank you for viewing!

  • Wow Man, that was just great, good for you! Thanks for video!

  • @48alfaone You are welcome. chck out vimeo dot com for other videos also here on you tube for the latest over Lake Mead Nevada

  • how much 4 one of dose camera systems

  • @yke90 This setup was about $200.00 for camera and trans. However initially you need the high gain antenna and receiver for about $100.00 more. The goggles video headset about $300.00

  • wut camera were you using

  • you got some good eyes

  • @erevopwns Sorry for late thanks for viewing

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nikolasdassis Thanks much for viewing

  • Great job .. very nice

  • chieftanzzz; thank you very much for viewing

  • the music sucks :D

  • Sorry you did not enjoy the music. what music genre do you suggest? for flight videos?

  • i'd keep the same music on these types of videos and have more heavy music on an acribatic vid soz about me spelling

  • @Tomasch

Personally I think it suited the video quite nicely,

You hardly want some drum and bass or techno or heavy metal when flying an RC aircraft in the clouds....

    lol,

    Andy.

  • I agree Andy Thank you

  • looks cool, but 4 miles on 72mhz? wow. and failsafe at 1.5 on 2.4??? naahhhh never......

  • You cannot use 2.4 GHZ at this distance. I tried it got about 1 mile. I had set failsafe to make elevator slight up and slight aileron turn. flown out. Then lost signal. Lucky the breese was in the direction to bring plane back into range. Also you cannot fly too low out fat on 2.4 the ground, water, trees etc will attinuate the signal from the receiver.

  • First of all nice setup you have! I've once seen an RC plane flying into the clouds which looked fantastic! Anyway, I'm still using 35 Mhz (EU) while most of our clubmembers already swapped to 2.4Ghz It's a known fact that the higher the freq, the range at the same RF power gets shorter. What I don't really understand is why the manufacturer doesn't beef up the power a bit to compensate for the higher freq. The batterypacks these days are way more powerful than lets say 10 years ago... :-/

  • @Anacinc I agree. They should have had more power output for the 2.4 GHZ radio control. As it is you cannot make low distance approaches to land, due to signal loss attinuation into the ground. Could cause loss of control. 2.4 is just too high of frequency too shor of wave length. However great for short interference free flying

  • Great flying, your very brave flying that far away with all that expensive gear on board. How do you get your bearings flying that far away?

  • @nomorekids46 We tested the radio and video system in the middle of the desert. Started to glitch at about 4 miles away. At least 72 mhz FM gives hint of weak signal. I have tried 2.4 ghz. after 1.5 miles the receiver shuts down goes into failsafe. lucky for me the wind was in the right direction and the plane drifted back into range! thank you

  • Thanks for your reply.

  • What type of R/C airplane is this? i can't believe it can go so high, great video.

  • @MrKevin396 Thunder tiger with 91 OS engine.

  • @MrKevin396 OPPS sorry this one is Hobbico Nexstar with a 52 magnum 2 stroke engine. I bit underpowered. Plane orig. came with os 46 size. It should have a 60+ engine though

  • @Mrkevin396

    add me.

    its tim.

  • awesome

  • Thank you Marens777

  • where to get that plane and camera ?

  • What is the name of the plane, and the googles called please send me the website of where you cna by planes as good as that one to my youtube inbox send me a personal message please with this

  • how high was this about in the air?

  • I would say about 4,000 feet agl

  • beautiful fly ! I want to invite you to see our videos in : club de aeromodelismo del guayas, thanks and congratulations really fantastic !

  • Ok sounds great! I will do so.

    Thank you for viewing!

    Happy Holidays

  • expensive equipment, but the video is awesome! Totally worth it.

    What do those goggles do?

  • The video goggles is what I wear to fly the aircraft. What we call video piloting.

Virtual pilot. Including take off and landing.

    Thank You for watching

  • so... it sends video directly to the goggles?

  • were you on an instrument flight plan?!

  • Was not; however working on a flight plan with the FAA. This has been a while ago. I have not flown there since.

    Thank You for watching

  • oh sry i didnt notice the realistic action

  • man this is fsx

  • Thank You for viewing

  • Great video! I really really enjoyed watching this, straining in my seat trying to help you up, up and away!...haha. Totally cool, watching you try and try to get higher and higher.

Thanks for posting that. I really did enjoy it!

  • Anytime. Sorry to all for late. Reply

    Thanks

  • This is a beautiful video. Check out some of my videos flying in a real Cessna 172SP over Hollywood, CA and such. Blue skies.

  • Sorry for late reply. I will check that out. Check out my video following a friend at the dry lake overtaking cessna 150. Over the dry lake in the desert.

  • GET THE F@#$ OUT OF HERE. AWESOME

  • Thank You :)

  • How cool is that! What a great, unique experience....and all from an RC model. Nice work and nice flying!

  • Thanks for watching

  • That was my dream as a kid... You must be so happy when you fly.

  • what brand and model camera?

  • panasonic 380 line ccd with 1000 m/w 2.4 ghz tx.

  • holy shit how much did that all cost

  • the aircraft is about 4 bills and the video equip including video goggles about $700.00

  • what RC system can control that high,

    and what RC Aircraft?

  • Aircraft; hobbico nexstar trainer, Hitec optic 6 72 MHZ radio USA. It has what we call the dial a crash lol 11- through- 60 channels and 8 model memory running on 11.1 2500 MAH li poly battery

  • That's a STOCK Hitec transmitter?!? WOW I can't believe it, you were SOO high! So how about what frequency(2.4ghz or 900mhz) and power is the TX and RX video equipment? And also what kind of antenna were you using on the plane and the ground for the video signal? THANKS!

  • A high gain antenna 14 DBI with a horizontal with of 75 degrees. 2.4 ghz from boostervision

  • What is the name of the song?

  • Cafe Del Mar

  • Cafe Del Mar Offshore I believe

  • what is the highest this plane can fly? Have you tried 29,000 feet (serious)?

  • Not sure good question. The engine would not run that high. If it di not much power

  • With a larger engine I think around 14,000 feet

  • Have you thought about trying this? Would it be possible to modify the existing plane with a larger engine, or would you have to buy a different plane with a larger engine? If so, VIDEO IT!!

  • I have in other videos like the dry Lake near Vegas and in Hawaii with airplane was a 65 , changed engine to 90 Better to climb out with the extra payload

  • I'm having trouble ascertaining exactly which videos you are talking about. Could you give the exact title of one of those videos with the 90 engine?

    Thanks.....rob

  • All the videos in Hawaii are with the modified Hobbico 60 Select. Has the Super Tigre 90 2 stroke engine.

  • can you do FPV flying with a turbine powered RC?

  • Sure you can, I know someone in Hawaii who does, I believe on an F-22 Raptor

  • Sure i know someone in hawaii who does

  • whats the camera ur using?

  • panasonic ccd 380 line

  • do you have a primary site you purchase such video equipment from?

i've never heard of video goggles before

  • What radio and receiver are you using. Looks like you flew really high.Whats the range on the plane.

  • Hitec Optic 6 72 MHZ USA Radio With 3 cell 2500 MAH Li poly battery for more voltage

  • approx 3 miles on 72 MHZ USA radio. Do not attempt to use 2.4 radio control. they are limited to about a mile. low power and very short wave length

  • the song goes perfect with the vid keep up the good work its buitufle

  • Thank you. coolbreez78

  • You are a cloud-rider. Its fun to spot the landing strip before descenting. You can benefit from an OSD system. Artificial Horizon for in-cloud-flight, etc. wow :)

  • OSD GPS on a Piper Cub. working on it though. Thanks Tolis

  • That was awesome!!! Keep up the good work.

  • Will do Thanks ugomeal

  • Superb flying and excellent video. I wish if pilot could be seen from air as well.

  • Thanks javed

  • Bloody arwsome...

  • Many thanks jim

  • how the heck can you see it that high?

  • he is using video googles !

  • video GOOGLES? wth...when did google launch this? :D

  • ZZ Geologic the area is easy to fly and know where I am flying. Remember in the video headset, it is like watching an 80" tv about 8 feet away. Virtual 80" so clear then you tube even in HQ

  • Through a video headset (goggles) Wireless transmoitter and a camera.

  • Haha are you instrument rated?

  • Don't knock this try it! FAA may soon have guidelines and requirements for this. Onboard GPS auto pilot , telemitry in RC piper cub. Will be ready soon. We have a P-51 rc should keep up with your DA 20 lol fly on your right wing and look at you well Out here at a dry lake kept up with a cessna. Kept our distance though. Even there not recommended by the FAA.

  • I was obviously only joking i had a RC pilot ask me if he could follow me on takeoff i was flying an SR20 though and he crashed on takeoff do to the prop blast.

  • NP. I had kept the distance. A friend was using my camcorder while onboard the 152 C. Got some of the RC while I was flying video

  • Wait you really tried that?

  • A friend in the 150 Cessna over a dry lake

  • Nice video, thanks.

  • Your welcome Frostbite

  • That has to be the best FPV I have ever seen.

  • Thanks energy

  • awesome

  • Thank you

  • That was sick! I would want to do this! How much for everything!?

  • About $700.00. this video is with 1 transmitter, 1 receiver, 1 high gain patch 14 DBI antenna, 1 camera this one about 400 lines. of course video goggles. To record you need an inexpensive aiptek recorder. Do not buy the hi def one just the standard one works better. That is around $90.00

  • Are you using a standard RC FM radio?

  • Yes PPM FM 72 MHZ USA

  • Beautiful. What is the name of that song?

  • Been a while ago. I think it is Cafe Del Mar Offshore the first. Can't remember the second.

Humm halfheymers on my part lol

  • Great video! By the way, who is the composer of the music used? Sounds nice to me, I am doing similar style music by myself, and I like that genre. Would like to hear more of it.

  • Been a while ago. I think it is Cafe Del Mar Offshore the first. Can't remember the second.

Humm halfheymers on my part lol

  • Very nice! can you tell me how do you do all this? websites of planes(catalog)... video camera high quality...

  • Well the camera is only 380 lines NTSC. 1 watt 2.4 GHZ camera. The Grouond station Receiver has a 14 DBI high gain patch antenna. Now we have two on two receivers and a diversity controller. The controller monitors the receivers and switches for the best signal. However not in this video

  • 5/5!

    i like it!

  • Thank YOU!

  • ausome wat plane is that?

  • Hobbico Nexstar. With 52 two stroke glow engine. The stock one is the OS 46 FX. This plane has flaps too.

  • Beautiful 5/5

  • THANK YOU!

  • how high was that

  • Not sure. However until if and when the FAA allows us a flight plan in that area for safe FPV flying We have CEASED for now. Working on that with Them. So airline pilot will not fly through that area. They rarely do. However we are cooperating with the FAA. Ceased for now. Thanks. I think over 5,000 feet AGL. Is what some said to me. Thatis above the airfield not from sea level.

  • Fantastic ... I do not fly high but I might have to learn about FPV and take it up to fly high ... Make some great videos of Mt Fuji

  • I also have the shockwave. Keep me posted on the works. Not sure how you keep it all watertight, but there's always a way. What about those vids of the aliens?

  • lol well I need to go higher? If so may see the curvature of earth.

  • F***ing amazing. Id say that was a long distance flight and the footage was great! Any idea what altitude you made on this flight?

  • Not sure. This airplane no altimeter onboard.

Check out the Hawaii videos over the clouds there.

  • maybe bout 3000ft

  • Can we get a glimpse of Area 51 with that?

Just got into RC boats, but now I'm gonna need some more credit cards!!!!!!

  • I have gas boats too. More interesting to fly with video goggles on though. One day to equip my gas shockwave with onboard video.

  • the bums ova dere are going to shoot it down thinking it was a real one

  • this was a reply for a comment of flying over area 51

  • I am sure that is not allowed ;)

  • LOL

  • what kind of fpv equipment do you use?

  • Nice! Clouds are wonderful, I'm a glider pilot. Cloud are my friends. Anyway...Is there any way you can record from the goggles rather than on the a/c? Also, check out something pinnacle make. It's about $150 and records Composite Video directly onto a USB memory stick.

  • Ok. We are taking to wireless for the goggles soon. Without the worry of cables.

  • lol its all wireless

  • Yes it is. ;)

  • Unbelievable, very cool!

    Great work!

  • Thank you mpalikko for viewing. Check out the FPV in Hawaii when you get the time.

  • That is amazing, what if you could have a second pair of goggles for someone with limited mobility while you're flying it, that would make their day/week/month/year!

One question, is the video in stereo for true depth perception?

  • My God! With a proper music and headphones, I bet you could think you are flying yourself.

    +favorite

    5/5

  • your brave flying over a lake lol

  • bud; other times have flown out past the first group of islands say approx 3 miles out and up. I had a deadstick, was high enough to recover. Only because I failed to set the timer lol. Ran out of fuel.

  • Were you able to fly this far on a stock 2.4Transmitter or did you have to boost it also?

  • Using a 72 MHZ aircraft radio. 11.1 Li poly battery pack @ 2500 milliamps. With 12 volts seems to work ok at distances. Do not use a 2.4 GHZ with 2.4 video system in the same aircraft. May interfere with one another. Instead use the 900 MHZ video system if you fly with 2.4.

  • what an amazing video!i never knew an rc aircraft can fly with that distance.i have a spektrum dx6i with ar6200 rx on a 2.4ghz frequency.how far do you think i can fly mine?
