  • i cant believe these 2 soldiers gave their back to the running screaming man behind them

  • Now that was fucking bad ass.

  • I hardly ever cry at films and if I do, I only cry quietly for a minute. But I absolutely sobbed my heart out when I watched this. I had to eat lots of icecream to cheer me up.

  • @Mariolinomaiunagioia Well at least we can make movies that don't end up getting our nations ass kicked.

  • But seriously, setting up a whole machine gun to kill one guy? Der Kaiser would kick those men of his right in the arschlochs if he could see this act of spectacular stupidity.

  • This is one of the most beautifully horrible things I've ever seen in my life.

  • Hey what's the time in the film of this clip? I need to know for an English homework!

  • @Agrademusicgeek

Around WWI I think. (not really sure though- go Wikipedia it.)

  • @Agrademusicgeek not sure, I guess about 40% in or something

  • Im only watching this cuz we are learning about WWI so we saw all the scene in WWI know i love this part.

  • And then he comes back and the British are all like "Oh, I say. Bad form, what?"

  • Now that's the stuff legends are made of. :D

  • Thats not even fair man! Just hose down a blind guy caught in barb wire with a machine gun.

  • Take a Light machine gun and give it assualt rifle bullets and there you have it. A ww1 maxim machine gun.

  • can someone tell me, i haven't seen the movie for ages. are they fighting with the canadians. in the ypres battle scene samuel says ....1915, america did not enter the war until 1917. cheers

  • @aaronmcintosh26 Yeah, they are with canadian corps, the three brothers went to canada to enlist because The states wern't in the war at that time.

  • @aaronmcintosh26 I believe they were in fact fighting with the Canadians here. In an earlier scene (which was mentioned to be October 1914), Samuel tells his father "I'm going to Canada to enlist" and his brother Alfred says "I'm going with him."

  • Tristan Ludlow is Aldo Raine grandfather XD

  • what if he just woke up right b4 tristen stabbed him

  • German soldier sitting at campfire having a good time, "Did zu hear someting?" "Nein I zidnt'" "EIIEEEE!!! A Fucking cherokee comes out of the wire knifes them both and scalps them lmfao.

And that is how shit happens in the America bitches...

  • @Vroktar2009 lol man, there is no campfire and guys totally had no suspiction.....

  • @weezy1518 wire tearing through his skin/clothes.

  • I have watched a lot of Brad Pitt's acting. I think this is one of his best acting scenes ever.

  • @GeminiSarahAnne your exactly right. He is actually one of the best actors if not the best right now, but his looks hold him back

  • @atlprince88

Yes a lot of really beautiful people seem to get less credit for their acting, which is strange because you would think it would help :)

Anyway I love watching Brad Pitt for his acting and his looks :)

  • damn, this is the movie i got my name from, im a BADASS ! :D

  • Emoitional scene

  • WOAh Brad YOU MAD BRO????

  • Man If was him i wouldn't just shoot them I would stomp the living shit out of them

    german scumbags.

  • If you were him, they would have heard you stomping around from a mile a way and shot you long before you ever knew what hit you. :-)

  • This is probaly the only chick movie that I dig very cool plot and story very well done

    three thumbs up.

  • why did he stab him with a knife? :S

im so confused about that part :/

  • @lulinajim il retire le coeur de Tristan pour le ramener a sa famille (pour l'enterrer) cher son père .

  • @lulinajim he cut out his heart to send it back home

  • Did he just ask God to curse himself?

  • he just cant stay away from scalping germans....

  • And in Inglourious Basterds he scalps Nazis. Been scalping Germans since WWI

  • 2:15-2:20 - Tristan the vampire slayer: "If I don't do this, no man will, and Samuel will be forever doomed to feed on the blood of the living. I'm sorry, dear brother, but I the Germans left me with no choice. Rest in peace." Stakes Samuel's heart.

  • lol

  • Completely helpless and they mowed him down.FUCKED UP!!!!!

  • O.M.F.G.

  • I can't stop crying.

  • ...this makes me cry.

  • I was named after this movie :D

  • @tristaniscool1 you were named "legends of the fall"... hahahhaha wow thats sad man, i feel for ya.

  • How the hell did he cross the no mans land to kill the germans?

  • @Chuck6360 you pointed it out : this is one of the reasons why this scene is totally unrealistic.

  • what an amazing scene

  • đoạn phim duy nhất từ bé đến giờ xem mà tôi rơi nước mắt.

  • Epic.

  • Real things happen like this in all wars. I just think its terrible the way mankind has to kill each other and tear lives apart, by killing loved ones. Why would anyone kill another person or even hurt another person? Why? It's truly terrible and i don't understand why terrible things like that have to happen in this world. People are stupid. All this killing, all this hatred...

  • @BuzzCola09 Some wars are definitely worth fighting, such as World War II. However, I believe the First World War broke out because countries in Europe were all mad at each other for various reasons (mainly economic). It's unfortunate that the nations at that time didn't try harder to settle their differences. Had they done so, BOTH of the world wars may never have happened.

  • @GeorgiaKev Yes i know it is truly terrible we couldn't have been more calm, and just settled things in a peaceful manner. North Korea just bombed South Korea, even after the Korean war North Korea is still acting through violence. I guess we'll never learn.

  • @GeorgiaKev You are correct, It was an ecomonic fight. Over trade with Asia.

  • @BuzzCola09 People kill each other because one government says, "Oh these guys are bad, they don't deserve to live"

  • @SgtMustang With the exclusion of serial killers, and such. I'll never understand the government and their quest for ultimate power. Screw the government. Screw 'em

  • @BuzzCola09

War is a result of limited resources and unlimited need/desire for said resources.

    There, your mystery solved.

  • @CognizantCheddar

That, or intolerant ideology or some sort.

    Always one or the other.

  • @CognizantCheddar Thanks my man

  • he sure does have a thing for scalping germans did it in this movie and then again in inglorious bastards

  • i love his face at 4:10

  • Comment removed

  • Brad Pitt almost seems like he is gonna have an epic sad seen then it changes at 1:37 "DYAAWWW NO!!....OH NO!" and then i dont even know why he has to stab him...then 2:21 "ARRRGH GAWD DAMN U GAWD!!"

  • @dandandamattressman because he has to cut out his heart to set Samuel's soul free... it's a native american practice they explain earlier in the movie

  • neither of them had a pistol

  • TRISTEN!!!! I cant see....did i mention i cant move either???? i hope thats not the sound of germans racking up a machine gun

  • where the hell did those german guys come from....like they were just there as soon as he got stuck

  • omg this movie is soooo BAD....like that was their job....wait for a blind man to get caught in the barbed wire, then take the time to set up a machine gun and put about 30 rounds into him.

  • @dandandamattressman Well, I'm certain worse things have happened on a real battlefield. I'm sure it's sometimes hard to remember your "exact job" when you've just witnessed so many of your own buddies slaughtered.

  • @GeorgiaKev The French Foreign Legion were not allowed to engaged the Serbs in Sarajevo. But, at night they sometimes went into the hills and killed Serb snipers, keeping their ears as a souviner.

  • @dandandamattressman You are entitled to your opinion, but I thought it was a rather moving epic.

  • love this movie...tristan..has a special of handling things....may not be pleasant but, they're fair.

  • Just enjoy the fucking scene.

  • I'm a huge fan of this movie. But i wonder why Tristan (brad pitt), didn't take Samuel's pants off to measure the size of his penis. I mean Samuel was the youngest brother of 3, and Tristan was the wildest. Wouldn't Tristan feel shocked if he had discovered that Samuel had a longer penis than him? Think about that. If my brother was shot or struck by a lighting, the first thing i would do is drop to my knees close with a ruler.

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson

u wuld want to see two cocks on screen u fucking faggot

  • And of course this scene is ridiculously unrealistic; "Nyahahahahaha! Nyah! Ve vill pick off random unarmed blinded helpless Amerikanischer-Britischer-Kanadienischer schweinehund for, shall ve say, ze lolz of eet, jawohl? I heff not kommeeted any atrocities today yet! Ve kood be using zis machine gun against a battalion, vinning ze crucial Battle of Ze Marne, and subseqvently kapturing Paris, but nein, ve must do zis for ze evils und nicht for ze practicality!!!"

  • @themysteriouscrumpet : Bravo good sir. Bravo.

  • @Coffeebooze Danke, Mein Herr.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet

    google translate has failed you

  • @ShitList2010 Yes, I realize in hindsight it should have been danke schone. And I don't yet know how to put umlauts on letters using this keyboard.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet Not everything that happens in war makes sense. Neither is everything that happens in war recorded. Yeah it's a strange move by the two Germans but that doesn't mean it could never have happened.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet In reality they probably would of killed him, but just to put the poor bugger out of his misery. I would, I couldnt bear to see some young boy like that.

  • @grimblebrumble17889 pretty much. Most of the WW1 account I've read say the same thing. You end up in the wire waiting to be shot. :|

  • @themysteriouscrumpet You are obviously a nazi.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet

    google translate failed u bro

  • @themysteriouscrumpet

Best comment on youtube, I almost died laughing! Thank you sir! (:

  • @Helghast470 Gern geschehen (you're welcome)!

  • Why is Brad Pitt always scalping Germans?

  • @themysteriouscrumpet Because all movies are produced by Jewish Zionists who haven't quite got over what Hitler did in WW11 , this is their way of some kind of payback just like they demonize Arabs as always the bad guys in movies too.

  • scene is quite bad and cheesy really. He's screaming samuel all the time and the enemy soldiers just ignore it and focus and killing someone who cant move or see. Not sure how well they thought this scene out

  • @Shonaripa

You have to understand, the Germans were under strict orders to kill Superman during the war, and you have to admit, Samuel looked a bit like their description of Clark Kent...this is also why they bothered to spend 30 seconds setting up their 50 pound machine gun to take him out.

  • @Maltrevenius sounds really farfetched.

  • perfect movie 10 out of 10

  • Wow that was really stupid. It's like someone had a bunch of puzzle pieces and put them together incorrectly. Barbed wire was used to halt enemy advancement. Machine guns were used to shoot people who got attached to it. That was for TROOP ADVANCEMENT. No one would have set up a machine gun for one guy ten feet away. Also, what's with the music at the end? Oh yay you killed two other German guys who had nothing to do with killing your brother in an extremely gruesome and downright evil way. Huza

  • @Yawgmoft I agree that the scene was stupid and melodramatic. They should have thought of a better scenario to stage Samuel's death. However, I really liked the scene starting from when Tristan opens Samuel's shirt to when Tristan comes back with the scalps. The music was awesome and fitted very well with the scene depicting how Samuel's death made Tristan go mad and made him go across no man's land to kill more enemies using skills he learned from ONE STAB.

  • I never letting my kid go to war.

  • I'm pretty sure it was this role that secured him the part of Achilles in Troy, lol

  • saddest. death. scene. ever.

  • Those people who dare criticize this epic film are either idiots who lack finesse and refinement or just plain and total ignorant!

  • I was named after tristan

  • This movie is the most over-wrought, pretentious movie I have ever seen. It is for those who can't stand any form of subtlety.

  • that one German soldier was like Who the hell! ***stab!

  • i have seen the movie and i showed my friend SAM it makes me sad =[

  • I wonder what happend with the costumes after the film was done...

  • i saw this in my elementry school

  • Its Aldo the Apache, he's collecting his german scalps.

    3:23 - 4:17

  • @NativeMMA We got us a German here who wants to die for his country. Obliiiige him! (I love "Inglourious Basterds", so I got a kick out of your comment haha)

  • What a shitty scene; two solders set up an high rate of fire, super powerful gun or whatever for a soldier tangled up in barbed wire and choking with nerve toxin. melodrama at it's highest.

  • brad pitt at his best.

  • most definitely

  • Remind me 2 get in ur way

  • This part is Epic!

  • this was a sad movie and the sad thing is samuel died as a virgin on a battlefield.

  • my name is tristan thats how i got the name

  • My son's name is tristan and thats where I got his name from too! :)

  • strange. tristan use a luger, he must got a colt positive revolver

  • He picked it up after he killed the germans in the scene before.

  • I bet the battle where samuel was killed was kitchener's wood. Btw does anyone know when canadian soldiers started wearing helmets?

  • Late 1915, early 1916 where the diffrent armies comanders finaly saw the a hat will not stop bullets or shrapnel.

Until then all armies wore hat. even the german spike hat had only the spike made of iron the rest was leather and/or fabric.

  • the gas bombs were a cheat way 2 kill people

  • @flamestar131killing people is bad kids

  • this was so sad. war sucks

  • UR JUST A HATER

  • @genovesachx

    You're an idiot.

  • really sad. had to watch this in history. agh. really tear bringing but a good story. poor sam. that had to hurt.

  • Anyone else wonder why they set up the MG to shoot one immobilized guy not 10 yrds away? in a spot were they haven't got a clear line of fire once he's been mown down? i.e. there's no reason for them to be there. Those MG crews have got pistols, if they are so mallicious that they just gotta get their murder on, just whip out the side arm, pop, pop, pop and get back in the war...

  • no they didn't havepistols, officers had pistols, do they have em in this scne?

  • @onandofflooker Guess that when the Germans do something they don't go half way.

  • @onandofflooker Its a M-O-V-I-E, not a goddamn documentary.

  • @HammernHeads it's not any question of "historical accuracy" (which only bad movies are hampered by, good movies transcend the need for such a crutch). Rather it's a question credibility, plausibility and T-A-S-T-E. This scene lacked all three.

  • @onandofflooker The scene was put in the film purely for entertainment. That's where you fail to understand where popcorn entertainment ends and credibility, plausibility and T-A-S-T-E begins. Get a grip.

  • @HammernHeads Lack of the mentioned qualities decreases the entertainment value of the scene (for people who can't help having normal cognitive depth) as it interferes with suspension of disbelief. As to getting a grip I'm sure *you've* got a very firm one. On what passes for your johnson. While you fap to stuff like this.

Try again. You can even have the last word.

  • @onandofflooker Ok thanks.

  • @onandofflooker Onandofflooker hates veterans.

  • @onandofflooker .. er cos its a bit of a silly movie... I laughed all the way through this clip... the bit where the indian looks at Brad puttin his brothers heart juice on his face (2:55). lol Brilliant! He like ' man I gotta be in dis tent with your cracker ass! sheeiiiit.'

  • @LaMOi1 the indian is not in the tent with him... hahahha... thats stab he is back at the ludlow home, he just senses that something is wrong... hahahahahahahahahahah

  • @LaMOi1 Perhaps you've got the wrong race mixed up...

  • @onandofflooker -- the movie was awful!!!loved the soundtrack--thought brad did his part--and Hopkins--he's a legend

The book--surprisingly, is good. I saw surprisingly, being that, I am inclined to favor European texts of --say Wiemar Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, all the way down to the decadents--All that was great ended with Strindberg. Bulgakov was a primitive soul--he probably would have fit right in with Alcibiades& co. I rarely read anything from the 20th century---->

  • @onandofflooker cont'd

saving Bulgakov, Kafka, Camus, Freud and Heidegger. Pasternak, Joyce, and the lot I try to squeeze in the work on whose back they reached their zenith, but that it--no getting through an oeuvre in a fury, say, as with Dostoevsky or Pushkin.

Even movies--I'd go with the Europeans-Bergman, Tarkovsky (he's Russian--not exactly Europe), Bresson, Kieslowski, etc.

    P.S-Inception was a rip off

If you made Totem and Taboo, Interpretation of Dreams into a movie-that's what you'd get

  • @onandofflooker bigger question: how did Tristan sneak up BEHIND germans when their defensive line was many miles long? I don't really think the movie's supposed to be taken for it's value as a war movie

  • @onandofflooker haha thats true, but its not as fucking brutal as to putting up a 35 pound machinegun and slice that little bitch into pieces from 20 feet away

  • @onandofflooker because the one german bet the other one he could totally cut sam in half using one chain of ammo....he lost the bet.

  • @onandofflooker they saw him as a major threat to state security

  • @onandofflooker it was in the script !! ?

  • @onandofflooker because theyre tough guys bro

  • @onandofflooker

Because it was more suspenseful watching the Germans reload their big bad gun before off'ing a main character.

  • Melhor Filme de Brad Pitt otimo ator

  • God damn you godd ahhh

  • "you're doing good "

  • yep, lol, first movie scene to bring a tear to my eye

  • shit that rong they killed sam but still one of the best movies of all time

  • This is my all time unforgettable scence & my all time favorite movie

  • I dont know which scene was the saddest in the movie, Samuel's death or Isabel Two's death?

  • one of the best movis ever!

  • I find it odd 2 believe yet it is the truth...... Samuel is played by the boy (elliot) from E.T.

  • this is how id like to kill my friends girlfriend....

  • lol

  • dude thats fucken hilarious lol

  • man that gotta suck having to die like that being stuck in the bar wire and being shot at with 100's of bullets in a short distances

  • why didnt he just lie down and shut up

  • @jacobdekid its called panic mate.

  • james horner is fucking brilliant...

  • aww bless

  • Henry Thomas (Samuel) was also known for his role as the boy Elliot in the film ET.

  • thats a fuckin native fo u bitches

  • Why did my ancestors have to do that to poor samuel ludlow?

  • 1:06

I bet that felt fuckin' fantastic.

  • Eh, still seemed rather strange lol. First he was hit by the gas, secondly he was trapped in barbwire. I don't find blazing someone with a machine gun the appropriate choice for that. Regardless, I'm pretty sure the director just added that for the drama and to make a powerful scene in the movie. A bit off topic, but seeing that could make someone hate germans lol.

  • I do. That's how it went down, they set up those traps to kill large groups of soldiers and Samuel just happened to be alone. Not so strange.

  • Incapacitated soldiers are better kept prisoners than dead. Reason? So you can exchange them for soldiers you have lost. That's how it went down, that's still how it goes down. Read history, and watch the news. Killing a target subject to captivity, extremely strange. Most of the people fighting the war were sick of it enough even early in the war, on ever sides to add. So killing a defenseless person, wouldn't happen today, and wouldn't happen back then.

  • not really. They would still be less than amicable with each other. If you had a really bad day, you might want some revenge in that trench. At the end of the war, people kept killing out of anger.

  • im pretty sure there were heartless soldiers that did horrible things back then mate

  • Most German and English soldiers would help each other if they say eac
