Just wanted to point out that if you have Windows Movie Maker then you might not need a converter. I've noticed while using Windows Movie Maker that it will change your video to wmv if you select "Best Quality For Playback(Recommended)" on the Video Settings screen. WMV videos seem to upload faster on youtube.

The issue with this is that your are compromising your quality. Changing a file from .mov to mp4 or avi is seriously going to screw up your resolution and quality. Not only that but if your video is in HD its going to be even worse. If its worth it to put a badly formatted video up there go ahead, but if you want to maintain the quality and clarity of your video you should wait the 2 days.... or however long it can take. Video Editors like iMovie that upload directly to youtube only take about 30 mins to upload for a 6 min video in 720p. This video is a very archaic way to upload faster but is not fool proof! Try at your own risk of disappointment. Worked for me at the time and the software has been updated since.

@FIreKilER1 make sure the router you're using in at the very least an n-band router.....g-band is too slow and unreliable. make sure your video is in either . wmv or .mp4. depending on the length it should be a faster upload. and if you have to connect directly to your modem using an ethernet cord.

Another a lot easier way to do it is if you have a sony editing program (the one I use). All you need to do is go to render video and you can pick any format you want. I use .m2t because its 720p HD and looks incredible, but takes around 3 hours for a 5 min video. Oh well, its worth it in my opinion. Check out sony bro! You wont be disappointed.

@LikesToPlayGames to make the process simpler just look for a wmv. converter. Youtube takes longer to upload other types of flies mp4 and wmv. are usually the fastest to upload.
