@H4NDCRAFTED The Ineko was made I think in the mid-2000s. I bought it new.

I might make another video sometime during the fall/winter, if I have time.

I cant get my x0xbox to sound any good - i'm crap at programming patterns. I love the sound you get on the Right x0x (your left) is that just reverb or what. I really dig the whole jam to honest. really good. Keep it up!

Nice, I finally went ahead and ordered a xoxbox myself. Great 303 alternative, sounds close enough to the 303 to be one for all practical purposes, affordable, reliable, with midi.

Great set, I really dig that acid techno groove, makes me want to speak into a vocoder while doing the robot. You should do a track with this.

Oh by the way, have you done the power supply mod by changing the resistor that feeds the op-amp?, seeing as your a professional you may know the answer as to whether it's effective.

I haven't done the power supply mod. I didn't even know there was one. I haven't had any power supply problems.

hi, its good:) I advice to try use "cross"mode (Im not sure if your RE has cross or ring mode, because I have both version of Er and I dont remebmer which one has ring mode)on two first parts on your ER, it makes amaizing sounds, ER is fucking good synth (its reason why I have both versions:)but in my opinion parts for hats and claps are not so good.... better is yamaha RM1x, MC307,try it, its quite cheap, have a good luck to sound working:) acid rulesssss!!!! :)

love ur work, october71. I've seen ur circuit bends on the x0xb0x site and they've inspired me to get back into bending. I've done it all my life (since I was about 10) but never had a name for it. at the moment I'm working on a mobile phone sampler, using 8 old phones. I can't wait 'till I get to the top of the x0xb0x waiting list, i'm gonna make mine wareable with a wireless output. the tricky part is making AC power with out using a bulky inverter and a large battery. any sugestions???

I hate to break your bubble but there are no more kits coming from adafruit. You can however still:

- buy the rare parts from ebay

- buy the board and faceplate from adafruit

- but everything else from mouser and digikey (based on the BOM on the ladyada forum)

How long did it take you to build a unit? I'm just finishing my common part orders to do a self-sourced unit and would like to know what I've gotten myself into :D.

She stopped selling them because it was getting increasingly hard to get all the original rare parts in a qty that made the time worthwhile. Right now you can still find all the rare parts on ebay and some people have found currently manufactured replacements for the rare parts, obviously with a change in sound.

I work very slowly and very carefully, so it takes me about 15 hours to build one, not counting the case mods and custom control panel. I don't mind building them, though. It's kind of like meditation. =)

If I'm not mistaken, you could have bought an original TB 303 in good condition for the cost of those two combined, no? Correct me if you think I'm wrong. Obviously, you wouldn't have two x0xb0x and no sense of satisfaction seeing as you built these, but the original still holds the edge. In any case, I hope you have fun with those b0x. Later.

Actually, one of the x0xes was built for a customer, so it's long been out of my hands. And, to be honest, I'd rather have a x0xb0x than the real thing. There's just so much more functionality added to the x0xb0x that you can't get out of a real TB-303. And the cost of the two x0xb0xes together is actually less than what you would pay for one TB-303. The x0xb0x kit is only $350. TB-303s routinely fetch over $1000 these days.

Seen em for less. Hundreds less. It just depends. The reason you would get a real 303 is not because of it's functionality to be honest though. It's the sound. Plenty of people mod the original too, even though, that's not my cup of tea. Funny thing is, it seems as though it would be easier to get my hands on a TB-303 than a x0xb0x these days.

I don't know who you're trying to impress with your generic 303 fanboyism alpsa, but the simple truth is that a x0xb0x is an affordable and interesting means of attaining a 303-like sound. Of course they aren't identical, but they are quite similar. Some people aren't stuck up enough to care whether their jeans say Calvin Klein or not.

Congrats on finding a 303 for less than $1,000, but the fact is they sell for much more. Check eBay or any classified ad. Sorry to pull you from your cloud.

I wouldn't recommend this kit to anyone who does not have experience building electronics. It is very easy to mess it up if you don't know what you're doing, and worse, it would be nearly impossible for you to diagnose what you did wrong. I would suggest starting off with a much more simple project such as an effects pedal first before trying to attempt a x0xb0x. Both of these boxes took me about 15 or so hours *each* to build.

Thanks, Architecture! =) This was just meant to be a demo of using two of the x0xes together. I literally just picked two patterns that sounded good together, knocked together the beat on the ER1 and recorded.

Germdisco, I designed the control panels in Illustrator, stripped the original graphics off of the aluminum, and then applied the new graphics with a wet transfer sheet called Lazertran.
