  • Creationists remind me of a child throwing a temper tantrum. Foot stomping and screaming along with plugging their ears. Well, I've evolved beyond God and the need to justify it to stagnant people.

  • I'm glad Hovind is imprisoned.

  • @79agp: but if an infinite number of people went to bed, an infinite number of 747's would form.

  • VenomfangX makes my blood boil.

  • there is no such thing as bad science, if it is bad, then it isn't science.

  • The heavens do NOT declare the "Glory of God", they declare the awesome reality of the universe and our tiny place in it.

  • The heavens declare the glory of GOD.

  • @GaryFL1

In Voltaire's Micromegas, a 17th Century guy known as Reverend William Derham once stated that nebulae are "openings in the firmament through which the fiery Empyrean is seen" and another guy known as St Thomas Aquinas maintained that the universe and everything were made by god solely for man's benefit. As far as it is concerned, arrogantly saying the heavens declare the glory of GOD for men is as much as declaring oneself as a complete idiot. You insult God on your way as well.

  • @GaryFL1 Yes they do, how arrogant for some people to say 'they've proven there is no creator'. There is soooo much science still doesnt know, and wont admit they don't know. Yet they still have the b@lls to bash creationism with their very small knowledge. I dont buy it, and nothing they can say or do will make me buy the lie. Something doesnt come from nothing. Thats a fact. If i wake up in the morning and there is a 747 in my backyard, someone or something made it, it didnt just 'poof'!

  • @79agp

"If i wake up in the morning and there is a 747 in my backyard, someone or something made it ?"

noone can make a 747 overnight, im guessing it crashed there, just like your arguments ;)

"it didnt just 'poof'!" no, that would be "creationism".

"There is soooo much science still doesnt know, and wont admit they don't know"

    - really ? can you give one example of science claiming to "know" what it doesn't ?

    [science] "I dont buy it"

don't tell me you steal computers and phones etc

  • Hey Andramedas, great videos, great production and research. I see you are an old school Prodigy fan.

  • I've always found the "What are the odds?" arguments to be ridiculous. Even in situations where the odds really are as astronomical as creationists claim, the universe is too large for us to even fathom. It doesn't seem like such a stretch to assume a few places would meet those astronomical odds. It's extremely unlikely to win the lottery. Does that mean no one does?

  • The world is beautiful, the hold universe is amazing, and I can understand why some people think that it was designed by a designer. However - what makes them think that this designer is a homophobic, blood thirsty, unjust God? :S

  • How, exactly, would a super-strong magnetic field effect life as we know it?

  • I've got a question about the 4.3 million tons per second:

Is it the amount of hydrogen fusing into Helium or is it the calculated mass loss through radiation and solar wind?

  • (cont from my last)

When a scientist has an insight, like "maybe this was part of the prelude to the Flood", it's accompianied with an irresistible itch to test that insight, not just an itch to broadcast to the world that you've Just Figured It Out. Scientists have the GUTS to test despite knowing that most results are null.

Hovind! You're hypothesizing! Like it or not, you've made a hypothesis! You're ALMOST THERE…

  • "unless it's where the rocks flipped over, when the fountains of the deep broke open; that may have happened in some areas"

THEN SHOW SOME FUCKING CURIOSITY AND FIND OUT!

Really, that's what gets me most about these folks. They think that science is the process of coming up with science-y answers, not a constant cycle of good questions followed by really good answers followed by really great questions, etc.

  • I notice something with these creationists, they never have any scientific sources on their power points.

  • @HybridD91 Yeah it's like they're trolling... only not. I see PCS's face and I feel slightly frightened by the look on his face. It's like an ax murderer planning his next move.

If that guy represents a continuing trend in creationist norm... creationist kids may turn up to be ax muderers?

    Lol I'm just messin'.

Creationists don't present scientific sources because they have none.

All they can do is try and find errors in current theories, and ask disproportionate questions about said errors.

  • 2:54 - Brilliant parody of specious reasoning.

  • All those rocks just happened to flip over in neat rows?? Yeah right!!

  • Creationist, you can win, just bann mathematics and freedom of speech. You win and everyone can go to heaven safely. woohoo

  • When you think about it, our brains function with electricity (nervous system). We are alive (or should I rather say "We feel that we are alive") because of that activity. And there's activity all over the place in the Universe ! Ain't that life in its own way, too ?

  • @Quartrez Curiously enough fire has most of the charistics of life. Carbon based, reproduces, consumes oxygen, exothermic. Let's ignore the fact that it can arise spontaniously.

  • more fresh CrAP. I hate CrAP, it stinks..

  • My favourite part of this is that you were able to show PCS was wrong in less than 10 seconds, impressive =]

  • :D long life science :D !!!!!!!!!

  • Wow. Really sad fail at the end.

So, solar eclipses occurring has to do with the angle of rotation? That's why it happens on Jupiter more, because it's only tipped a few degrees over, right?

  • listen2meokidoki

What - the -F***. I do not want to start an argument, but i really recommend you read Stephan Hawkins before you comment on this god dammit youtube Page!! You can't put God in as an explanation wherever science had not discover. we have to discover it ourselves through scientific methods, not resort to 2000 years old scrptures for answers.

  • try 30 year old text books instead --//??? right!

  • So, for there to be a meaning or purpose for our individual existence, or the universe as a whole, there must be randomness and unpreordained evolution. But if God is in control of, evolution, life, us, stars, computer game outcomes like some game of billiards he totally controls, the results again become preordained and meaningless. God's big toy? But where can we see or measure the randomness happening in cause and effect. Is God = Quantum physics. Is randomness totally random? Entropy = 1?

  • To me there is an outstanding question about exitence.

    Choice? Free Will? Evolution?

They all mean the same thing.

If every atomic and subatomic action & reaction takes place per the laws of physics to an assumed absolute precision, then the universe and life and stars evolve, but they follow a precise preordanded course. And if from start to end the universe is preordained then it matters nought, has no meaning and may as well not have existed.

  • where did the laws of physics come from?

  • you must be stupid on purpose.

Laws come from us, which are observations of nature.

Don't ask me where gravity comes from.

  • i always love to see mentions of places i know in videos--in this case, mono lake. i get a little tingle inside xD

  • Hahahahah we are a way for the cosmos to know itself.

I dont know where you think dishonesty will take you.

You cannot be taken seriously when your assertions are far greater than the evidence implies .

Ranting scientific understanding and then pretending your assertions are correct is simply dishonest .

    Your bold claims are dismissed

  • lets all just say the collective intelligence of the human is God and thereby steal the concept from the religious people :P

  • Damn space ducks have always been causing problems with our understanding of planet formation -.- GTFO DUCK ;p

  • nice video series, thanks for putting them out...........

  • just did the calculation that apparently venom didn't. even giving him 5 instead of 4.3 it only 7.0956*10^17 tons of mass lost over 4.5 billion years.

mass of the sun = 2.19240901*10^27 meaning that his calculation would say that 4.5 billion years ago the sun had 1/3089814828 more mass than it dose today. or 100.00000003% of it's current mass.

  • Where could I check the data of measurements of historical field strength? Thanks for the answer.

  • Love the video - hate the distracting background music...........

  • hey, doesnt the bible say the moon shines with it's own light, why dont they prove that, please oh please

  • does anyone know of a rational anthropology or psychology or somthing like that channel that's like Andromeda here or Tf00t? I mean I'd like to see some rationalists in other fields speak out

  • a question for the creationists: when is gonna start the debate on the flat earth? I wanna do a video mocking you!!!!!!

  • i know you probably have better things to do, but have you ever thought about taking these guys on live?

you would have a overwhelming effect on the people that would be there and very quickly ruin these peoples credibility.

    peace

    brian

  • ... lol

  • at least science is based on evidence and observation. Religion is based on stories and superstition

  • actually some "religious" understandings are based on experiences

  • ya i have had some "religious" experiences tripping on LSD but i would not say i'd write a book about it and try to convince people it is the only truth

  • my "religion" is too personal to share, lol,

  • We're unable to prove science theories?

I'm sorry, but what are you using right now, how did you type that comment?

That's right, a computer. Funny because the only way that would be possible is if scientists discovered things like magnetism, electricity etc.

Oh wait, they have theories like that, oh wait, we also have computer which use them theories and work...

brb going to cast a spell I learnt from the bible.. oh yea, they don't fucking work, because they're BS.

  • Ha, good comment my friend. I've been using this line on creationist "science doesn't work" morons for a while now.

  • No, science can be proved or it is not science.

Creationists cannot prove their hypothesis but scientific theories CAN be proven.

    BIG difference!

  • @Hjernespreng Sorry to comment on such an old post, but I wish you to clarify since it seems to me that you contradict yourself.

  • @Hjernespreng I missed the comment the first time I read, I apologize for distubing you.

  • Proof of the theories of electromagnetism your computer.

  • 10:33since when did humans reproduce at the same rate as bacteria? Or did "god" take that trait way?

  • the moon is moving away from the earth proved by using laser trigonometry , where they shine too red lasers to mirrors that have been placed on the moon by astronauts , then the observatories calculate the distance from one observatory to another one shining a laser to the same mirror marker and then calculate the angle degree and do all that mathematics stuff to find the distance of the moon by the millimeter ,

  • 3:17

It's Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo!

  • I'll hate on creationists. You undermine the progress for the human race through lies to perpetuate your laughable, howling at the moon, human sacrificing, bigoted and barly barbaric superstitions. Now go bleed a goat or or your first born for Abraham or Lot. Pig.

  • Do not, I repeat, DO NOT feed the Troll! I know it's tempting, but we don't need him leaving anymore dumbass comments on Andromeda's videos, right?

  • um.... "creation science" is not a religion.

  • Water shouldn't be here!!!

  • I like how you say "ownage"

  • Great series. I am a biologist and I combat the creationsist from the biologist perspective, but I love learning about cosmology, astrophysics, and astronomy. Thank you for explaining it so well. Plus great Carl Sagan quote!!

  • you should do some videos of your own "Creation Biology Propaganda Debunked" :D

  • I can´t believe creationists speak so many lies, and I`ve been believing in this myth this whole time????????

    why do they do this?

  • the moon is 1/400th the DIAMETER of the sun, not the size YOU IDIOT. The sun is 1.3 million times the size of the earth, but only 400 times the size of he moon, WTF?

The sun is around 60 million times the size of the moon. I hear this 400 crap all of the time.

  • @ 1:16 - 1:28

did my brain just die from the bullshit I heard?

and when PCS show up, did the leftover from 1:16 seep out of my mellon afterwards?

    I need help :(

  • I loved the cat discovering Rubik's cube - and I quote

    "OMG WTF"

  • How does he know how old something is? He must use carbon dating, the very same dating he calls flawed.

  • There are more ways of dating things than carbon dating.

  • I know, but carbon dating is accurate up to about 20,000 years. If the object is any older(or the math doesn't add up), then different forms of dating are used.

  • So you've just destroyed your comment. Bravo.

  • How so? Unless you can find another method of dating used for 20,000 years and under, then I'm just going to assume that PCS used the supposed carbon dating(which he most likely got from an apologetic site) to date the age.

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry If it sounded like that, but I meant that carbon dating is used for objects up to 20,000 years(clearly, because that is when its most accurate). After 20,000 years, other dating methods are used. PCS said that the world was 4,400 years old, falling well in with carbon dating.

  • "PCS said that the world was 4,400 years old, falling well in with carbon dating. "

Sorry?? All reliable dating methods have dated the Earth to be approximately 4.5 billion years old.

  • I meant the oldest tree and such. I know all the dating methods have dated it to be that old, I'm just pointing out that venomfangx is a brain dead moron.

  • Oldest tree is over 9800 years old.

And yes, we can all agree that venomfangx is a complete muppet.

  • Dendrochronology?

Using tree rings from a variety of sources to create an unbroken dating method going back tens of thousands of years with commensurate ease...

  • Meteorites are dated using the number of holes punched in them by high energy particles and/or cosmic rays and counting the number in a square millimetre in a given slice.

One I bought my mother is the oldest thing on Earth you can hold in your hand, it's as old as the sun... she loved it! Some may go back to the solar system that was here before the present one...

CarbonDating is reliable & it works & works well as do the several dozen other dating methods science relies on!

  • Ending = PWNGE

  • you seem to like prodigy <3

    great vids

  • p0wnd

  • it was shit

  • Freakin sweet video. Pretty inspiring actually.

  • wow this is my favorite so far people got owned haaard in this

  • Very good!

i cant believe people can be so stupid. It never stops amazing me...

I can even stand the brain-washed-from-birth people with poor acess to full education.

But these guys that put on a suit and try to give logic arguments, reliyng on bad jokes and falacies, man, these guys are just too stupid to be true. I cant beilieve that THEY exist. They themselves are an argument against god: if god created men he would not create such people, at least if god has a litle bit of competence...

  • The Golden Crocoduck award ? Is that real ? (Searches the net, well, yes it is !)

  • tune!!

  • i love science, its so cool.

  • my eyes. MY EYES!!! the brilliance of the pwnage. THE BRILLIANCE OF THE PWNAGE. and whats that feeling?

    IT BURNS> THE STUPID BURNS!!.

  • I lold a lot

  • This is my first time to watch one of your videos. Well done, sir. I subscribed.

  • Did he seriously say that the Moon is 1/400 the size of the Sun? If I'm not mistaken, that would make the Moon bigger than Jupiter.

  • LOL. Thats a good one. I didnt even know that.

  • Actually I thought that was off when i first heard it but its roughly true. The earth is roughly 1/100 the size of the sun (jupiter's 1/10) and the moon is 1/4 the size of the earth.

Nonetheless, still alot of creationist crap

  • Yeah, I asked AW about it. The ratio of the Moon's diameter to the Sun's diameter is roughly 1:400. If he had been talking about volume, he would have been off by a factor of about 64 million (Kent Hovind, anyone? :P)

  • dude i love your shit. the way you express yourself is just brilliant. i take my hat off to you for explaining how fucking dumb and impertinent some of these creationists are.

  • You should make a video debunking panbabylonism for all the zeigeist freaks who think s Jesus is the Sun and the 12 disciples are the zodiac

  • You need to think more right-brain while watching the Zeitgeist to fully understand it. Jesus is the Sun? We are all energy, like a pyramid of energy. Sun would be really high consciousness, like the ion of our solar system. Of course, the left-brain doesn't think this way, and is deceived by it's perception.

  • 8 months ago, but who cares.

It doesn't matter what Darwin said. Not a tiny bit. Plenty of "species into another" IS on record now. and WE CAN prove that species have changed.

So I guess now with that new info, you'll accept that evolution is a fact?

It has nothing to do with God or Jesus either by the way, many people are Christian and accept the fact of evolution.

  • the bible says God created all things and all things point to his glory -- this is the view i take

    cheers

  • Valu777

Fine, all "things" point to a supposed God's glory. But traditional theology, that god is everywhere does not necessarily clash with the theory of evolution any more than any other scientific theory. So we can all agree that, if there is a single god, and he is a he, then he works in mysterious ways. Though an awful lot has been discovered which illuminates his glory. Eg: Evolution.

  • God made all creatures after their KINDS

as we observe these creatures are so good that they can adapt , (but this is all)

we are not random and the only natural selection is God at the end of the age separating the good from the bad

  • In nature there are no good & bad creatures. Or as American's like to put it, simplistically, goodies & baddies. So it could be said humans are also just animals & some are, as they say, born, or I might say, hell bent on being EVIL. So I say, there but for the grace of God go I (the Evil me). But if 99.999% can not be saints by birth, can it be said we have no choice? So 99.99% of our sinful choices are in fact not choices but are actions foisted on us by our genes = your idea of GOD's WILL?

  • try a black widow spider is it good

  • We are discussing a scientific theory:....evolution.

If you want to comment on evolution you need to use scientific language. "KINDS" is not scientific. I am assuming you are saying a "kind" is a species????

  • hey i was wondering why the agro at me on my page

did i do something to upset you ?

    if so i am sorry

    cheers

  • No, no, no! You got it all wrong;

jesus is a corncob, the solar system is broccoli, the pyramid of energy is Bill Gates' left nad and everyone's left -brain has gone to Honolulu with that redhead from the Account's Dept!

  • huh?

  • IF you'd arrived on time as the rest of us did, you wouldn't be standing around wondering what was going on!

Now find a place at the back and sit down...

  • Warning : This thread contains no laugh track to aid the american audience!

  • I wish we could do the turn off the lights thing with your videos.

  • You could watch the videos full screen, that would effectively lower the light level.

  • i love your background music

  • I am so looking at that lulin comet on Monday. Hell yeah

  • 10:57... FUcking pwned...

  • The was just pure ownage.

  • Hey,

Just figured I'd let you know I stumbled upon one of your videos earlier tonight and I've just continued watching them...very interesting stuff. I'm in college right now and I think I'm going to head down the astrophysics path in life. And although I don't know anywhere near as much as it would seem you do, hopefully in a few years I'll be able to beat down bad science right along with yu.

  • The funny thing is, i'm sure you DO think you know how everything was " created or made ".

the only difference is that he tries to find things out by scientific research and inquiry. You get your info from a children's book. Grow up.

  • He just explained all pretty well. And he used FACTS, Proved FACTS. What you believe in is fairy tale. No proof.

  • All scientific knowledge is comprised in theories. Atoms are a theory, gravity is a theory, even electricity is a theory. A scientific theory is a concept that ALL evidence supports and NONE contradicts.

  • So how long would it take for a polar reversal to be "complete?"

  • I think you've confused total eclipses with what is known in astronomy as an occulation. Jupiter's moons a have much bigger apparent size than the sun, hence the sun is completely blocked out to an observer on the surface and an occulation results. Big deal.

A total eclipse requries that the moon appears as the exact size of the sun, which leaves behind the spectacular corona of the sun. Without this coincidence a comparatively boring occulation or annular eclipse will result.

  • VFX is probably assuming that the sun's specific volume doesn't change, and also assuming that the power output of the sun remains the same too. Even with those assumptions I don't understand how VFX reached his conclusion. Only .031% of the sun's original mass was lost. Assuming a constant specific volume, that's .031% volume loss after 4.6 billion years.

WHERE THE HELL DID VFX GET HIS DATA?!!!

  • Kent Hovind?

  • I just assumed VFX was calculating the size of the sun using some retarded method like measuing the volume of hydrogen gas at 1atm of pressure.

  • LOL VFX got owned at the end there.

But he'd probably just say you made that up (before filing numerous flase dmca's :) )

  • Damn! These videos rock! I no longer watch TV (dont even own one anymore) because there is just crap spun there. So glad folks like you upload worthwhile videos that actually educate public and not "entertain" it making it dumber than it already IS.

  • I want to thank you for these as they are quite informative. My specialties are biology (molecular biology specifically) and philosophy. I love learning astronomy while seeing CrAP "pwned."

  • I like how you use Star Wars, thanks for these astronomy based videos =)

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you call him PCS now too!?

    my goodness its catching on!

    go thunderfoot!

  • I think mini-hovind was a better nickname for VFX, personally.

  • whoisfettel 'snicker'--chuckle--->GUFFAW!! ;>}

  • uhhh... what?

  • whois--->I love your style and couldn't agree more!!

  • I commented frequently to this kid that, according to simple math, using current numbers, the sun should live 13 billion years before running out of hydrogen. Hmmmm.. kinda close estimate, isn't it ?

  • how do scientists date deserts? i know they us radiometric dating for rocks and tree rings for trees but wat abot deserts

  • indian--they use isometric dating based on ground-dissipating radar,laser-dispersion vector analysis, and highly accurate carbon tetrachloride dating.Sand of course is known for it's silicone crystals, and these can be accurately dated by photon diffraction together with measurement of residual mumeson decay differentials. ;>} (The same way as they do the other stuff).

  • tnx for the info but how do scientists find the oldest part of a desert bc i know that deserts can spread. like for instance im pretty sure i heard that the sahara is spreading bc of overgrazing of cattle and other things. do they just guess or is there a way to find the oldest part

  • indian---actually my previous post was humor aimed at some of our more impressionable folks.I suspect that the oldest area is buried and gets exposed from time to time,as when they found fused glass from a comet impact dating to King Tut:dated by using radioactive isotope assay/half-life comparison. What they checked was Iridium,I believe.

  • Really?? I didn´t know we had the oldest tree on earth. Just looked it up and you are correct though it´s not much to look at is it?

Pando is even older though it´s not one individual tree so I guess it doesn´t count.

  • wearing glasses does not make you a scientist, you need a white lab coat

  • you also need to talk with your hands a lot and with a certain intonation

  • and don't forget a beaker with blue liquid bubbling in the backround

  • And one or two of those rabbit-ears v-shaped jobbies that have a spark going up between them only to disappear at the top, and go visssssst! And maybe a machine that goes "ping"...

  • yeah that ridge is just a little bi-curious

  • Omg that is where VenomfangX got his idea about the moon from....

  • Huh i was not aware Mercury has water in its exosphere. Interesting sounds worth doing some research on. On the other hand i am not totally surprised since its comprised of fairly common elements..

  • It also has highly radar reflective matter on its poles, which most people think are sulfur deposits, but have a slim chance of being actual water... (very slim)

  • can water even exist in a liquid state at those temperatures?

i would suspect water vapour in the upper atmosphere being probable, liquid though seems a little bit more dubious.

  • They were thinking "possibly" ice.

It was inside a crater at the bottom, and as such would have never seen sunlight.

The most likely answer is however sulfur.

  • Great job with videos but can't say I like the music on the background.. Classical music would be better since fewer people (I presume) would get annoyed by it :D. Anyways, keep up the good work.

  • So what's the Creationist claim with eclipses? God designed the moon to create eclipses because... um... why again?

  • god created eclipses because 6000 years later a crackhead would ask his friend yo wats up and hed say HOLY SHLAPPLE AN ECLIPSE

  • Oh, calculations using 5 million tonnes against the current weight of the sun says nearly 11 billion years of life. VenomFangX has since agreed with me on this and seems to have wandered away...

  • Idiot totally ignored the fact we are measuring the distance in microns with a lster reflector placed there back in the Apollo Mission days and it's getting further away by inches a year.. in a few thousand years, it'll appear much smaller then the sun!

  • "Dishonesty - These aren't the droids you're looking for." *lol*

  • i think that cat with the rubic's cube is that creationist's technical advisor

  • Actually, it's their chief of staff in their legal department. Did his part in the Dover trial, but to no success.

  • What about a clonal colony? A colony of 47,000 quaking aspen trees (nicknamed "Pando") covering 106 acres (43 ha)in Fishlake National Forest, United States is considered one of the oldest and largest organisms in the world. It has been estimated to be 80,000 to a million years old. Its also the worlds heaviest organisim weighing 6000 tonnes.

  • If its postulated age is correct, the climate into which Pando was born is markedly different from that of today, and it may be as many as ten millennia since Pando's last successful flowering, according to an OECD report

  • Excellent series. I can't wait for the next installment...happy debunking!

  • Excellent point about water being required for life... on Earth!

I've thought about that a few times myself. The search for life on other planets goes on with the theory that water is needed for any form of life... it's not broad enough... it's like saying, gasoline is needed to power all engines.

  • 4:48 life can survive without water.
