I watched this game stoned off my ass in the comfort of my warm living room. As a neutral party, it was a great game for napping. I felt bad for the kids, not that guys like Runyan and Alstott gave a shit about the weather.
This '95 Purdue game was cold and brutal weather wise. The tarps they put on the field before the game from the 20 to the 20 meant no one could do anything in the red zone. It was my senior year and my cousin was in town and we had a great time at this frigid game. Afterwards we walked around AA outside for a couple hours too!
I was at this game and the '06 NW game which was also cold. By '06 they had improved the drainage system on the field so the players were not as hindered by the field conditions...
no surprise the picture isn't perfect quality...the weather was lousy. that play-by-play man, Joel Myers, has been the voice of Big Twelve football on FSN the last decade or so.
Thanks so much for this WH! I have to imagine this was the worst weather game Michigan's played in since the Snow Bowl in 1950. I also heard the game against Boston College was awful weather.
I had heard that this was the one game where ABC let Bob Griese broadcast a Michigan game with his son starting at QB in 1995.
But obviously, this not the case as it was on ESPN.
After, Driesbach got hurt against OSU in 96, they saw that he did okay with Brian playing so they let him and Jackson do all of the Michigan ABC games in 1997.
@Knightmessenger Bob Griese was in the broadcast booth watching this one but didn't do any play by play. I forgot to mention earlier that it was after this game that Lloyd Carr had the "Interim" label removed from his coaching title.
This was my freshman year. I had one friend there in only a t-shirt (and not drunk), and another there in a tee and a leather jacket (also not drunk). Needless to say, they left early.
I was at this game...so cold I left at halftime.

My dad and brother were at this game...and described it as absolutely miserable, even though we won.

How did attending this game compare to UM-Northwestern '08?

Proud to say that I was in attendance at this game. It was the loudest small crowd at the Big House.

Dear God, I remember this game. Wasn't sure to call it a defensive struggle or an offensive struggle.
