I have the same question as LifeLiberty... Can you please answer? What he said makes a lot of sense.. Why would you want to enter at a price higher than the current market price? Don't you want to buy at lower price?
@faYte0607 Like goldenticker said, you would use this type of order in anticipation of a breakout...i.e. you are saying to yourself that you would buy this stock only if it goes past 140 (Current trade price is 135) however you do not want to pay more than 142.
@goldenticker: Thanks for taking time to make and post this video
One of the best explanation video I have seen, my question is , you started at the $20 entry mark, and using $21 as the limit price, WHAT were you using as the MARKET price?
Why does the limit trigger if it is HIGHER? Shouldn't it trigger when it is lower your limit? Why would you want to wait for the stock to INCREASE in price before you buy?
Example Stock is 150$ but I want to buy 140$ if I set the limit at 140$ and the maximum at 145$ wouldn't it automatically buy at 145 since it is above 140???
hi buy stop and limit sell stop and limit can you make in graph.?

I have a broker's account with the banc of america, but I don't see the list of "limit price" or "stop price."
It only shows "stop limit" and the "price" to enter the amount next to it. Is it b/c banc of america does not offer this option?

I would call them and ask them how to enter in a stop or a limit price..this is very basic.
