YEah I agree with all the people that said No to this product. If a child is too immature to be in a belt positioning booster and keeps unbuckling, then the child should NOT be in a booster.

i dont like the idea of this product. EMS and firefighters are not trained yet to know how to undo that thing in case of an emergency. if your child keeps unbuckling them selves and throwing tantrums then maybe they need a good ol fashion ass whoopin

@instagasm actually it doesn't matter. EMS and Firefighters go into a car intended to use a letter opener like device to simply cut all the straps. They don't have time to fiddle with buckles that could have been internally damaged from the shock of the crash.

These little things are available online cheap if you want one in your car to cut your child or yourself out of seatbelt webbing.

@gymnistico ive been on the fire dept and an emt for several years, the first thing we do is look for that red button. so the cover would slow us down slightly, but even if only slightly that could make a world of difference.

If a child can unbuckle their properly installed car seat, they can unbuckle a 5 point harness...

Instead of using this product, you can flip your car seat buckle 180 degrees (this is an approved use) so that the buckle is less accessible. However, older kids really need to be trained to remain buckled. If there is a special need then there are restraints especially designed to keep kids from escaping.

Good question, BUT... infants can't get themselves out either, and what if you have a 4-yr-old having a MAJOR tantrum who keeps unbuckling & won't stay buckled. Then you NEED something to make it harder for them to do it themselves. (Speaking from personal experience & needing a solution.)
