  • Wow

  • Breakage is not common for anyone. If you have to put on a mask to apply the chemical then obviously it is not healthy for the hair!!!

  • @TheApplez69 The global keratin seals the ends of the hair, which includes the hair that is breaking off. I believe it's very much worth it and your hair is 1 million times healthier that a relaxer.

  • true african american hair???? is there another type...and why do u have the heat on the flat irons so damn hugh? i thought u said it came out straighter? im so confused!

  • My hair comes out straighter with half the heat..and I'm natural. 4a hair type.

  • Just go natural, its easier on your hair :0)

  • To much heat.. why blow dry and flat iron twice? Waste of time

  • Comment removed

  • on the close up at the start it looked like a poodles back lol

  • It honestly looks no different to straightening and blow drying your hair anyway

  • Yeah that’s way tooooo much heat & when she used the products she used gloves…that doesn’t look inviting. Sorry Sis it seems you are doing more damage than good.SMH

  • That's aloot of heat.

  • Her hair isn't TRUE African American hair. You can see that when the woman puts the liquid in her hair, the ends stay straight. I don't know about you guys, but I wasn't born with straight hair.

  • @nataliesworld1 my hair is naturally straight, and i'm 100% african american

  • Brushing"true African American hair"while wet is a no no.Wth is true african American hair anyway?

  • Omg, I would never do this to my natural hair..

  • OMG That's so much heat!!! she isn't going to have any hair!!!

  • tooo much heat!! i'll just stick to relaxers

  • She had such a beautiful mane of hair before it was straightend .So many women would kill to have such hair (including myself) . :)

  • the pressing comb would've been better. thats WAY too much heat

  • Looked better in its 'natural' state. Cute style though.

  • Y'ALL GONNA GET CANCER FROM THOSE CHEMICALS!!! IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!!

  • Girl : what are u going to do to my hair?

Hairdresser: well, first of all I`m going to apply this toxic solution to your after its been washed. This chemical is very harsh, so i`m going to wear gloves to protect my skin, your hair should be fine, its dead =). Then i put plastic cap on and leave it under a dryer for 15mins. Then blow-dry chemical in your hair, flat iron and wash. Blow-dry and flat iron again.

It may last up to 4months.

  • @Rubydieseru

1.you have to ask for it without the chemical then its REALLY good for ur hair

    2.its required to wear gloves

    3.EVERYBODYS hair is dead

4.it was the quickest she shouldnt have done it but it was the quickest way to get the hair dry

5.theres no chemical in the blow dryer

6.she has to flat iron so it stays a little longer

    7. JUST TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR PUT CANTU IN IT EVERYDAY GET IT WET EVERYDAY IN COLD WATER BRUSH IT AND PUT CANTU IN IT WASH IT EVERY WEEK AND YOUR GOOD

  • She has really nice/long hair... Swimming nearly every other day killed mine :(

  • Don't EVER brush the hair it's wet! It could cause alot of breakage + have lots of hair come out. The hair is at it's weakest state when wet..js

  • Damn that's alot of heat.. So goodbye to her hair tho

  • Has anyone every heard of a Dominican or Egyptian blowout? a fraction of the cost ($45-$65) It gets your hair silky straight last for days even weeks...with no chemical. I've had natural here for 2 and half years now and when I want to rock my hair straight this what I do....and my hair is blowing with the wind...and i def have some thick "true african american hair;)

  • She looked cuter with the natural hair

  • that's a lot of heat to the hair...Won't that cause breakage???

  • @krenae lmao right?? I love to hear girls say your hair is gonna fall out if you keep relaxing....uhh yea maybe if you're using the wrong brand, strength, or your hair just doesn't do well with the chemicals period then yea. As far as the "true african american hair" phrase, I just told myself the girls parents must be from africa cause otherwise idk what she's trying to say lol

  • I'm sorry but I get the same results just blow drying and pressing my hair.

  • Well damn, u gon do all that? Just get a relaxer & 15 min BOOM ur done.

  • "True African American Hair" she does not know what the hell she is talking about...lmao...baby girl, hair has many textures..but ethnicities, i dont think so. Good work with the hair though! As a stylist you should really think about what and how you phrase things!

  • I agree WTH is "true african american hair??"

  • They controlled slaves with physical, mental, and emotional abuse). Making them feel bad about about everything God gave them created the ignorance ppl still believe in today. Hair is hair. In it's natural state is God given no matter what the texture, fine, kinky, curly, or nappy. There is nothing wrong with either texture if it is combed and healthy. Will we ever get past this ignorance? The Brazilian blow out is a straightening method used across the U.S. What's the big deal?

  • Why is it in 2012 black people are still fussing about hair texture? This sillyness was passed from slavery. It is a way to feel as if you are a step above the other blacks because the closer your texture was to the slave masters texture one thought he or she was better or treated better by the master. There is no such thing as good hair or bad hair. Telling slaves they had bad hair was another way to strip them of their pride and self esteem so that could control them.

  • this doesnt look very healthy. this girl already has breakage.adding a chemical and then blowdrying and then flat ironing isnt going 2 help her any. however i am a cosmetologist and i know that sometimes customers just want what they want. i personally do not like this. seems like a waste of time. its still not straight- which is the total point of a straightener. nobody wants 1/2way straight hair. that is a mess. but hell, if she is gonna pay you $200 bucks to look foolish, good 4 ur pockets.

  • and im pretty damn sure my edges in fthe front and back are full and lushious boo boo, so don't get it twisted

  • woah dere! u goin in on african american hair! as far as im concerned u need to redo this video! ur sound like some ignorant uncle tom...$tupid hoe!

  • Why is she getting this treatment if she has breakage?!

  • Her hair turned out beautiful... I don't like how she referred too her hair as being "true african american hair" I'm a "true african american" and my hair is naturally curly and had very soft texture like baby hair. This girls hair is what I call "nappy" ... Ijs

  • @Qtpie3782 Well she said true instead on saying nappy. A lot of people dont like the word nappy because it is often used negatively & another way of saying bad hair. My hair is like the girls in the videos. & Stuff that works on your "baby hair" will not work on my "true"/ "nappy" / thick hair. If you were bothered by how she said it then you really cant relate & probably need to find the "baby hair" videos.

  • @osinobis Then she should of said kinky hair

  • and you don't know how t do hair washing then flat ironing shame on you ruining this girls hair shame shame!!!

  • I think your quite racist not all African American hair is nappy I'm African American and my hair shoulder length it may not be long but its healthy and healthy hair is long and GOOD hair can I get an amen!!!

  • Whilst you all go ape about the fact that it was called african american hair. I just thought i'd point out that the model didn't seem comfortable. I won't ever understand why we sit there and let other pull our hair about. Our hair isn't that tough, I was feeling her pain lol but, the end result is real good

  • That's to much on the hair.

  • Stop wildin'.

I'm concerned about straightening it twice ..seems fine the first time. Then again my hair is relaxed ...

  • if youre gonna call black people african american i want you to call me european american

  • it's ridiculous to pay attention to semantics when the main point 'How to do a Brazilian blow-out' is clearly more important.

  • that's interesting. I have the same type of hair but I'm not African American. I'm just African.

  • @cocolahtay i guess our hair is the true TRUE african hair XD lmao jokes

  • @julietv456 LOL! i couldn't resist!

  • ppl seem to be bothered more and more everyday with the most simplest terms...good gosh "African American hair"...whoppie doo-proceed with the video please so i can what is being shown...

  • I am Brazilian and this process seems like the "Escova Progressiva" to me. Is similar to Keratin Treatment . I've done in my hair . It took me 9 hours in the salon and the result was not what I expected... When I washed my hair for the first time, he still had a lot of curls. So it doesn't work for me cause I had to flat iron my hair almost every day. I have used the product that has no formaldehyde! Product with formaldehyde leaves the hair straight but is dangerous.

  • It doesn't bother mean. You never hear stylist talking about 3A, 4b, 3b hair in the salon. That's a newer trend

  • thats alot of heat

  • i'm so confused! so straighten it, then re-wet it??? nawwwww

  • Solution? What is the solution. And thats alot of heat

  • @MsSpeakMyMind1 I'm guessing it's some type of keratin treatment.

  • Smoke came outta my hair when i Flat Iron it.

Thats probably why my hair is ruined now.

  • THATS HOT BUT 200 PER TREATMENT ...NO

  • That process seems extremely unhealthy for the hair. Wash, dry, straighten, re wash, re dry, re straighten. Ew no thanks. Doing it once is quite enough.

  • i think she meant that true african american hair was kinky and natural

  • Is this better/healthier than getting a perm?

  • She just means afro tectured hair and OMG all that heaaaaaat..

  • is this a perm or something? is her hair going to return to its natural state?and if so how long does this last. I might considering this treatment?????

  • PEOPLE!!! She means 4A hair! Which is the type you find most often among African Americans... So could you guys NOT get preachy cause you have this knowledge! Relaxxxxx

  • she means afro -___- all puffy and what not

  • why shee flat iron it , nd wash it again ?

  • @Mizzthickyt probably that's how the treatment sets.

  • @Mizzthickyt Thats what i was thinking...that cant be good for hair...i mean someone tell me if im wrong...but shouldnt she have just rinsed it after the 15 mins in the dryer and THEN styled it

  • why is the true african american hair statement bothering everyone? i believe what she meant was it wasnt relaxed hair she shouldve said natural hair instead of true but its nothing to get mad about or let bother you she didnt mean it the way people are taking it she just meant natural

  • @AdjustedSubstance i didn't even hear all that! lol i was just wondering if i can get my hair that thick! LOL

  • @AdjustedSubstance I love this vid but it is a pet peeve of mine when people say African American Hair. What is the difference between African American Hair and Jamaican Hair or African American Hair and Caribbean Hair. That's like saying French American hair, Australian Hair, Texas Hair, New York Hair... I think people are expressing themselves because as Black people we are passionate and that should be applauded rather asking us to hold back our true feelings. Dialogue is the only way.

  • @DearNadia black people have different hair textures then most other hairs generally its much frizzier and it breaks more easily then most other races hair thats specifically why us black people have a specific hair center in stores cause our hair is different then a white persons hair not to be rude or nothin just sayin

  • @AdjustedSubstance no what she meant was that it was real black folks hair....some black ppl have fake black hair....mixed...silky....curly...she means real naps....specifying so people wont think its some mixed har...and it wont REALLY work for thier TRUE african american hair!

  • @dezmar123 Not all AA's who are all AA dont have the same hair texture.

  • can u say damage

  • "TRUE" African American hair, its common to have breakage at ur nape (at least say why), me alone have a problem with that?

  • and she wondering why the back of her hair short.. HEAT DAMAGE

  • where do you get your brazilian blowout product from???? im dying to know

  • without a pressing comb, but just as damaging.

  • Regaurdless of texture*

  • So what if she says true AA hair. Reguards if texture unless u mixed or your parents from somewhere our side the US that's pretty much what it look like when its dry with no product. All the people catching a fuss must be embarrassed or feel some kind of way about the truth. She never said it was bad hair but because that texture is not what most consider 'good' hair there's a big to do. Stfu insecure ass black people she was just giving a rough overview so pull your panties out.

  • @P03ticJustice thats not true. African americans can have any type of hair naturally and not be mixed. there hair can be straight ,curly, kinky, and everthing in between so um yea.

  • you guys are so bothered by her saying "true African American hair" but continue the ignorance by breaking down into hair textures

  • @SIMPLYME100 how is "breaking the hair down into textures" ignorant ? The only reason why the hair texture chart system exist is so that people know which hair products and styles work best on their particular hair type, instead of grouping them all together by race. Race does not determine your hair texture. African Americans or Blacks or whatever have hair from 1a to 4c. So yes, there is no such thing as "true African American hair".

  • "TRUE African American hair" oh okay I see, my curly 3b hair is a lie, and to top it off I'm AFRICAN, and a first generation American citizen. Tbh I'd be best if you said Typical African American or Common African American hair instead of dismissing the fact that a lot of us women who are pure black have different hair types & textures

  • Just felt compelled to share. :) If you have hair breakage it's a sign that something is going on. It could be caused from tension of certain styles or styling techniques, the strength of your hair, stress, among other factors. Not just because you have tightly coiled/kinky hair.

  • Ok here we go again with strictly naming hair by race. I am domincan and I have hair similar to the girl in the video I have meat african american women who have better hair than me. nuff said

  • wtf is true African American hair? The fuck. we have different hair types

  • she is heavy handed!. . . y yall so offended by "african american hair"... .. .. this blowout protects ur hair... so the heat is not gonna damage it... .... just relax.... everyones hair is different just find wut works best for you... duh.com

  • This is some bullshit. You are damaging her hair. You give a bad name to black people and the fight for straight hair. Have a nice day.

  • true african american hair? O_o

  • breakage is common in the nape area of african americans? really? maybe if you use chemicals and/or wear weaves/wigs on your hair. i've never (knock on wood) had breakage anywhere.

  • Oh now I see. It's a chemical added to straighten the hair. Okay thanks

  • Is there a difference between Dominican and Brazillian? Also a blowout where I live is between $30 to $40 and the girls are fast!

  • Lol! at how she grabs the girl and throws her head into the basin and the girls like xS

  • She's pulling that poor girls hair from the folicles - no wonder most of as she calls it African american hair is resilient to grow because most of these hairdressers have no proper hair care training, that's the culprit - you don't brush our hairtype while it's wet with that type of brush, you are striping the hair shafts, and causing split - ends. And use a wide toothed comb and comb the hair from the ends working towards the scalp - lack of proper hair training is our public enemy # 1 -

  • THATS WAY TO MUCH HEAT GOSH!!!

  • What is true African American hair? Far as I am concern our hair comes in a variety of different textures, there is no one type of A-A hair.

  • @Highflyer10 A majority of us have tightly coiled hair. But yes you are right about having different textures. But same goes for every other race.

  • what do you mean by "true African American hair?"

  • how long does the Brazilian blow-dry last?

  • Well I'm just glad she didn't use the good hair/bad hair description. So many African-Americans...men & women are stuck on that complex. The Willie Lynch Theory is still relevant today amongst us. What ever happened to appreciating healthy natural hair?

  • I really don't think she meant to be offensive, but it could have been said a different way. I think she just pointing out that its natural, no a weave anymore, and very kinky and look at the amazing results. Essentially its marketing. Look how smooth her kinky hair turned out, now imagine how your hair could look. Makes you want it, lol

  • is it only me or was did she kept talking about african american hair i was like shut up caz it was like she was trying to put us down (even though i'm not african im indian jamacian i found this hurtful

  • so...it's like a relaxer? Her hair was soaking wet and stick straight... -_- so much for 'true' african american hair

  • I know thats right... its not worth it! Poor baby, if she keeps that up in a couple of years she won't have no hair.

  • true african american hair and true dandaruff

  • @lordesblueblood - I still don't see how this is offensive. I don't think she meant "true" as in "only", but "true" as in "majority" and "not altered by straightening or curling chemicals". The only people who take this offensive it seems are the people who are associating her tightly coiled hair with "bad hair". There are other races who use the Brazilian Blowout and it is not recommended for African hair type on the products. Now what did they mean by "African" hair type? See?

  • True African American Hair? 0.o..

  • Im only annoyed by the "true african hair, true african roots" well we know its not fake -___-

  • what a waste of time to get this done to your hair. it is completely unnecessary considering the process and the chemicals used.

  • this is the brazilian keratine process, that is what it looks like to me.. the steps are similar it must be that

  • Wow. Some people cant except that a majority of African American hair is kinky. How is that offensive? And if your hispanic with similar hair type, it just means you have African ancestry no matter how much you dont want it in your blood. Im African American an my hair type is similar to the model's hair in this clip. Call it what you want...3a 3b...whatever cuz even if my hair curl type was looser, its still somewhat typical African American hair and looser doesnt necessarily make me more white

  • Comment removed

  • What does she mean by African American hair? That really bothered me. My hair type is 3A which some would find on Hispanics. But I'm African American, Theres many different types of hair types that you may find on Black people..

  • @Coreenluvsu she acts sound like our hair is damned. i wonder does she know that she also has AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR??? Damn,!

  • @Coreenluvsu no what bothered me was TRUE african american hair...not all our hair is alike nor are we all nappy headed sheesh smh

  • @Coreenluvsu what you and the 23 people that liked your comment dont realize is AA have different grades of hair. AA hair is SO complex that there are at least five different grades, so dont get offended or cause offense you probably have a better grade of hair, its entirely possible because unlike all other races our hair can be completely different from one AA to the Next......

  • @Coreenluvsu She means unprocessed...you natural hair people take stuff to seriously..I've been natural for 1yr and 8 months and I have true African American hair...simply put unprocessed stop putting your feeling in everything because at the end of the day it really doesn't matter what others think of you it only matters that you are living live according to the way Jesus did and are in relationship with him...so get your feelings off your shoulders b/c that says a lot about u

  • Thats what a Brazilian blowout is?? I get my natural hair blown out and flat ironed occasionally and I get the same result.........What's the purpose of a Brazillian blowout??

  • My beautician wash, condition, blow dry and flat iron my natural hair and it is just as straight!! What The Foolery!!!!

  • No way am I going to let anyone put that much heat on my hair.

  • WTF DO YU MEAN TRUE AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR??? OUR HAIR COMES IN DIFFERENT STYLES AND TEXTURE.

  • What the heck is true african american hair? and btw this is the reason why not african american don't have hair on their head... Ladies i suggest to stay the heck way from this and learn how to style ur natural hair. Natural Hair's a beautiful thing when u know how to comb it... Brazilian blowout my butt.. more like brazilian hair removal

  • This is crazy she used chemicals, dryer, and flat iron twice. This is what kills African American hair all she was suppose to use is a hair dryer and a round brushe.

  • This lady dosent know what she is doing. Please go to the dominicans. I went to them and all they used is a comb and a blow dryer. No flat iron, no dryer, no chemicals.

  • So glad I mixed with black, white, russian, dominican, irish, and cherokee. Bur she has nice hair

  • @CHOCOLATEDROP1312 white and russian is the same thing. White is a race, Russian and Irish is a nationality.

  • really rough handling... but its cute

  • Negative people make me laugh, cuz they just want there voice heard

  • people can be so negative. time u stick a flat iron or blow dryer to a black person head people jus get CRAZY. calling the lady ignorant and what-not is really uncalled for, $200 is a bit much but however she is in LA so prices all depend on the city u live in.heat really isnt that bad if u dont abuse it and if u kno how to take care of your hair.

  • wtf , you iron the hair then wash it.

  • @xxcupcakecutie thats what i was wondering but I guess I will never know.

  • thanks for posting :)

  • We all know what she means by "true African American" hair. Those of us with what is STILL often referred to as "bad hair" have "true African American hair. Hair that has a tight kink and has women paying via monthly payment plans for weaves. Check out Chris Rock's film "Good Hair" The model Sasha had just come out of a two month weave and was not looking for natural hair options. Unless we wear our hair naturalm black women INVEST time and money in their hair it's a fact!

  • this video is irrelevant

  • I appreciate this video. I recently started doing the Aveda Texture Smoother, which is the natural version of the Brazilian Blowout. I've been relaxer free for about 4 months, so far so good. My hair is healthier and that's the goal. I'm not bone straight but I've always liked a little "kink" to my hair. Also, Angela, I know exactly what you mean by "Real African-American Hair." People need to stop being so PC and be real.

  • it looks like she was goin bald n the middle!

  • @REPDC4LIFE I watched this video 3X did not see any baldness in the middle!! I saw some dry scalp and some thinning around the sides which is probably due to the weave she just came out of.

  • i know thats some serious heat damage there!!

  • Thanks for the video now I know what the process is...everyone is mad over you saying true black hair.....people need to really get a grip. All textures lower than 4 can be shared by any ethnic group. I got what you were saying....It's not that AA people don't have other types ....it's just that THAT type of hair 4 is on found only among the african dispora. Take is from a fair complected, blue eyed, redheaded 4a.....people need to chill.

  • Question: Will this last for 4 months even with regular hair wash schedules?

  • how long does this take? Who wants to have their hair dried, straighten, just to go BACK and start it all over again?

  • Your either Type 1 -Type 4! That would be Straight, Wavy, Curly, or Kinky. I know lot of Latinos who have this type of hair and they are NOT African American!

  • IM BRAZILIAN (RIO BRANCO) AND I SAY 70% OF BRAZILIANS ARE BLACK OR HAVE THICK CURLY TEXTURE SO THIS WOULD BE CALL A BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT ON THICK HAIR

  • @blacktemple331 Right

  • It looks nice but that looks like wayyy too much heat lol! I wonder if it's more or less heat than a Dominican blowout though.

  • Wow!!! That's just too much heat!

  • wat?! did she just rinse her hair after straightening it??? only to straighten (flat iron) it again? WTF??!

  • @arsenalhon01 yes she did.....I'm not a hair expert but something about drying, ironing, rinsing AND ironing again smh I'll do without.

  • How long does this last??

  • I mean all of that, doe?? I would've just gotten a relaxer o.O

  • WHAT THE HELL IS "TRUE AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR"?!?!?!?!? ignorant!!!!

  • @MemoryLayne21 your ignorant

  • Thats RIDICULOUS

  • fucked up smh lol

  • What is true African American hair?? Are you saying she is from Africa (born there) and now lives and is a citizen of America??

  • Anything you have to wear gloves for.....ummm yea no thank you

  • 1. What is true African American hair? Wait did she wash after a flat iron and do it again? NO... Lmbo... I would not pay for this...

  • So is it a perm or what?
