I can personally attest to the fallout from this. A number of years ago, an officer with whom I worked was shot in the line of duty and his dash-cam captured everything. This ended up on local news and eventually here on Youtube.

Now imagine how his widow felt when someone sent her the link. Then imagine how she felt reading through the comments of people rejoycing
