I believe that David Letterman probably was referring to Palin's 18 year old daughter, as she was the one who had media coverage regarding pregnancy; however it was in poor taste. I do agree that much of the media is slanted to the left and had the shoe been on the other foot there may have been a uproar. People are forgetting that David has a team of writers creating his material.
The words t hat come out of David are written for him by several people. So, this was not a mistake or something taken out of context it was flat out meant to be mean and vicous and very calculated without regard to who it hurt.

Sarah Palin vs David Letterman battle dragging on this long. David is already gaining popular support by putting up more follow up jokes after initial loss at first. And Sarah Palin is failing after initial gain at start. Sarah Palin will ultimately lose and be dragged into David Letterman show in order to recover the loss she cannot get back without David. And that's exactly what happened to president Bush senior with SNL.

I believe that David Letterman probably was referring to Palin's 18 year old daughter, as she was the one who had media coverage regarding pregnancy; however it was in poor taste. I do agree that much of the media is slanted to the left and had the shoe been on the other foot there may have been a uproar. In this case though, I am fairly certain that he just told a "joke" in poor taste.

Letterman explicitly said later that he would never make jokes about raping a 14 year-old, that in his entire history he's never made such a joke, and he never intended the joke to be taken that way.

First, the Bush twins were not minors and their behavior (very much like their father at their age) made them fair game. Second, you are absolutely correct about Letterman. He is what my kids call a P-O-G (Pervy Old Guy). If you watch his segments, you can see a drastic change in demeanor. He was aiming for the jugular when he read that list. Then the next day he is batting his chest in apology and feigned humility. He's not an actor and doesn't fool anyone but his psychophants.

I think not. About 46% of American voters didn't vote for Obama. Probably another 10% didn't vote because of the sad choices they were given. Out of that 10% that didn't vote, how many do you think were conservatives? And if they weren't conservatives, why didn't they vote for one of the two sad choices.
