I had the 26" series 4 TV a couple of years ago. Can't remember the exact model number of it, but it was 50hz as well - plain old HD ready - but I later found out YOU CAN play 1080p, the only difference is that it runs at 24hz. Yeah it's a slower rate, but unless you are watching a fast action packed blu-ray, you don't notice it at all. Even when there's some action going on at 1080p, it's no where near as bad as older Plasma tv's.

Just my 2cents.

It's a good review, but what is the model? Samsung makes a few models that are 32". I just recently bought the 460, does anyone know if that is the upgraded 1 from the 450? or not? bought it from amazon for 550

I Just got the Samsung 32" LN360 Model and its amazing. I play PS3 and Xbox 360 on it and it looks great. My TV is on HDMI so it looks even better. And got it for only $450 at P.C Richards when it was $100 off. I give it a 9.5/10

nice review, fully helpful. i'm thinking of getting a samsung 32" aswell, mabye you or anyone else could shed some advice or light, the model i'm looking at is an 32" full hd 1080p samsung. i've seen it for about £399. is this a good tv to get for adding a 360, virgin media, bluray player and mac mini for the money, or do you know anywhere cheaper? plus would you fully advince not having it wall mounted becuase i considered overheating aswell.... any help would be appreciated

if u buy a 32'' tv go for HD ready tv! the differences in picture quality bettwen 32" FULL HD and a 32" HD READY are barely noticable! BUT if u want a 42" and above FULL HD is the choice! 42" in HD ready is a bad choice! IM a professional TVsalesman!!!!

you can't see the difference in a 32" 720P, and 32" 1080p cause the only reason the make 1080p in a 32" is cause they cost more, aka for profit! If you don't plan on buying bigger than 32'' there is no use of a FULL HD! full HD technology is made for the big Screens above 40'' ! my choice wouldn't be a LCD at all! I"d buy a nice 42 inch Plasma ! They produce a better picture than the LCD's but the problem is that after 15 years the colors start to fade! but how will keep his plasma for 15 years!

I'll probably buy a Samsung LCD off the internet (I'm over here in the states) Looking on best buy's website, they have the 32" model LE32A450, and you have the 457 here....it seems your model is vastly superior if only for the built in guide (which I really like) so I will hopefully be able to find it on the web at a decent shipping price; but I can't seem to find it to buy anywhere!! Can anybody help me find this tv on the web?

Ummm I'm not too sure about the US. I doubt you would be able to get this model as the guide and related menus are from the integrated Freeview, which I don't think is available in the US at the moment. I'm sure samsung do a similar model though.

technically 1080p is not full HD. 1080p is vurtually the same as 720p in TV's under 50". 1080p was actualy meant for TV's above 50" so that the picture doesnt get distorted. and also, 720p is better than 1080i just so u know.

I got the same TV at boxing day, and at Comet aswell. The only weird ting is that mine outputs 1080p so either im wrong or scorpio's wrong.

Yeah you could be right, I only used the resolution they advertised it at, didn't check if it was actually 720p or not. But they did upgraded the dynamic contrast ratio so its likely they could have upgraded the output resolution too.
