Mr. Lundin only wears socks. I think he is right. You will see that shoes will be revolutionized in design. Now they make running shoes that are the exact shape of the foot.
@theanvilcracks hmmm..she is: smart, beautiful, 'sexy hot' , accomplished and has an obvious personality that consistently makes people enjoy being around her. Naturally men are going to give her a lot of attention - it would seem that she is 'down to Earth' enough that it does not go to her head (compliments for the girl). So I say," hmmm..you have a lot to be jealous about, but then, your just a troll" - and NOBODY likes Trolls.
I carry 2 pairs of socks per day, and change at mid day on through hike backpacking trips where washing is not an option. I also carry woman's knee high pantyhose socks (in a manly color) as a "poor man's" liner sock
@BigJ8k Stuff them with newspaper and leave them in a warm place. Change the paper every two hours or so and they'll dire out in no time. If newspaper isn't available then leave them overnight in a dry, warm place and make sure they are unlaced and as open as possible.
I take 3 pairs also. Wear one, one to dry and one as back up I figure.
I also use shower curtain hooks. I hang the socks off my ruck and allow them to dry. I also use them to hand sandals off my ruck as to not take up more space inside. When camped, they can be used with some 550 cord to make a clothesline!
We always hang our wet clothes off the back of the pack as we are hiking. This is where it gets the most sun and usually dries fast. During the cooler seasons I bring a pair of -15 degree wool socks to sleep in since my feet are usually the first thing that gets cold.
I always wear two pairs of socks while hiking. The inner sock is a silk sock, the outer sock is a regular heavy duty sock. The silk inner sock prevents friction against the sole of my feet. I learned this from Ron Hood at survival dot com. But, of course, I also have back up pairs of socks in my back pack. Next to water, socks are extremely important gear to have. Without good feet you can't go anywhere. When the SHTF you want to be able to run far.
@cbr6864 I agree fully. Good socks is money well spent. I had a pair of Gander Mtn socks that came apart the first time I wore them, my REI socks (twice as expensive) however have lasted several years.
Good Video.

I wear always two pair, just to prevent blisters. 2 extra pair for walking and a dry pair for after walking.

Just hang the wet ones from your pack. If you sweat a lot you will never dry your socks hanging them on your body!

Another trick we use to do is to wear the damp/wet socks around your neck during the day as you hike and they will be dry by evening.
