Was Bob Backlund selling some sort of "heart-kick" in that opening promo or did he really get nailed in solar plexus (or nuts, depending where it landed)?
This shows why I enjoy Japanese wrestling and Mexican Lucha Libre far more than most promotions in North America! Eddie Farhat, a/k/a The Original Sheik, Rest In Peace!

Wow...Look at that Fire!!!!
I bet Vince McMahon would have loved Undertaker to fight Kane in this type of Inferno match but there was just one problem..In the USA...the Fire Dept of any state would never allow this
@BigSteveORama Yeah, McMahon was smart enough to use pyrotechnics, which is controllable. This is actual live fire that cannot be controlled under any circumstance because it will spread like nature intended it to. It's safe to say that Onita was not booking this on one of his smart days. Though, it's a great piece of pro wrestling history.
This match was stopped becouse the fire was becoming to wild so for the protection of the people in the ring and surrounding people the match was stopped. Would have been cool to see what would have happned f the match still went on :).
the problem with this match was that they lit the ring on fire all at once it got too hot too fast...mr pogo wrestled mitsuharu matsunaga in the same style match, the big difference was that in the pogo matsunage match they lit the ring in intervals...still a legendary match
deathmatch? it's more of a "throw a spark of light and i stop the match cause i'm the referee" kind of match. It may be fun way back but it sucks for me.
sheik inhaled to much smoke from this and was taked to the hospital afterwards, sabu said he knew it would get bad so thats why he got the fuck out so soon
Sabu and Shiek coming out to A Night on Bald Mountain. fucking badass
