  • i am SO proud to be a part of this organization!!!! its absolutely beautiful that sooooo many of you are reaching out and helping out as well!! God Bless! <3 and continue to spead love!

  • No cars go <3

  • I don't know who said it was a trend and I don't care to look, but when I went to this protest, EVERYONE stood in solidarity with Uganda. It was such an impactful experience, I turned in a grant proposal to go to Uganda and volunteer at an orphanage/ study the impact of Joseph Kony and the civil war on its citizens. It also inspired me to join the Peace Corps after I graduate from college. This is not a trend... it's about becoming informed and helping our brothers and sisters.

  • Very thankful that congress passed a LRA disarmament hopefully Obama signs it!

  • this is an amazing organization, I am so thankful for it

  • I think that if everyone of those who think this is 'trendy' or is not worth their time, hasn't been to a place called their heart. If you went to Uganda and supported these children- just knowing that you're their to help them, will bring the biggest smile on these kids' faces. If you were kidnapped at the age of 5. If you were deprived of friends, family, TRUE LIFE, then you'd smile at the slimmest bit of hope. And that's what we all hope to bring. Hope and LIVES to these unrecorded children.

  • There is a gourmet coffee company that gives 10% of all it's profits to the Invisible Children of Uganda. Here is the site if you decide you want to check it out. boreshacoffee . com/sundeen This company is set up for fund raisers as well.

  • Check out my Invisible Children video.

    Spread The Word.

  • What about Darfur, were is the UN with its army, I wonder how much oil there is under there land? How about doing something for them as well ?

  • How dare you suggest that this is something we get involved with because it's TRENDY?

How about we have HEARTS? And our HEARTS ache for the children who suffer immensely overseas while we can attain almost anything we want over here. It's about coming together and rallying for a CAUSE because it makes us hurt to know children can't live without fear in Uganda.

If you'd ever had a heart big enough to come to an IC rally, you'd see that 100% of the people are there because we CARE.

  • You know, not everyone would want to waste their time trying to help people. I for one, am involved with this stuff because I care, and so do many others, not because it's trendy. Shoes and children are completly different things. Helping kids and buying shoes. DIFFERENT.

And I guarantee that about 99% of those people care because no non-caring people would waste their time doing that if they didn't care, bc if they didn't care, they'd go buy some TOMS shoes.

  • they are doing somthing like this called rescue this year thats more about the child soilders. Displace me was such an awsome experience WE WERE DISPLACE BECAUSE THEY ARE DISPLAED. WE WILL NOT CLOSE OUR EYES TO THE EMERGENCY IN UGANDA. EVERYWAR HAS AN END!

  • i was at the phoenix displace me. it was amazing.

  • Oh man, I just got back from Uganda, changed my life forever

if yu guys ever get the chance to go! TAKE IT! you won't ever regret it. to see those smiles on those childrens, teens and adults faces just melt your heart!

  • An absolutely beautiful and moving message. Please take a few minutes to watch this video. Don't Ignore....Don't Avert Your Eyes....Don't Say 'I Cannot Get Involved'...Because the SAME THING CAN HAPPEN AGAIN.....EVERY WAR HAS AN END. Uganda, Darfur, etc. Do something every day to make a difference. We cannot ignore the suffering. We cannot ignore those who are displaced. God Bless. Ashley

  • It's still happening...University of Richmond will hold it in Spring 2009. Inv Children are still on the road, what a cool way to spend your time!

  • This is amazing. I was so upset that I had to miss the displacement act in Seattle.

It looked like a truly unforgetablt event. Invisible Children should plan another nation wide tour again. It seems like the movement has fallen out of sight.

  • This song is amazing...

Fitting, becuase the people who stand up for Uganda are amazing, too. I'm proud so many people turned out, and hopefully we'll be able to get the next president to listen better than Bush did =\ ....excuse my language, but he is an asshole. XP

I made a slide show for the Invisible Children on my channel. =]

  • nothing like this happens in Utah ever.

    i regret that. :[

  • y don't you try and start something in your school yourself...and if it doesn't work just keep trying until something does!!! Don't wish just give it a try

God bless you and the Children of Uganda.

  • I've been working with Resolve Uganda & Invisible Children for a while now. All I really want is to go to Uganda, or to help out with one of these events.

I really want to be there next year, but the reality is is that I'm just too far away. It really sucks.

  • not many people even knew about the war going on in northern uganda. this is something really important and we need to take action and do something about it

  • i started crying.

i didnt hear about it so i couldnt go in the first place.

EVERY WAR HAS AN END!!! <3

  • myspace(dot)com(forwardslash)mistah305

See if you can make it out there on Nov.16 going to be a great show

GOD BLESS THOSE CHILDREN AND US ALL.

  • Kansas City was amazing. I had the Honor of taking almost 30 collage students to this event, by far the best night of my life.

  • You all can still help. If you go to the website it has things you can still do. And a store you can send holiday gifts from it or get yourself something. Or even just tell people about it.

  • i was getting goosebumps the entire time i was watching this.gosh.i wish i could've gone to that thing.

  • they should do this again !..

    i wanted to go but i couldn't

my school had a "sleepover" the night before..

    so i got no sleep..

  • does anyone know if they will hold any more?

  • They do a Nationwide event every April, but the events are based on the current events of Northern Uganda so they can't plan too far ahead. Rest assured there will definitely be a similar event in April <3

  • ah thank you soooo much!

i was actually in Nicaragua helping out when this went on.

so hopefully ill be able to go next timeee :]

  • ive seen this video so many times.

    i still cry everysingle time.

a few of my friends were able to participate in NYC.

    unfortunatly i couldnt be there.

and i regret it SO much every single day.

  • They do a Nationwide event every April, but the events are based on the current events of Northern Uganda so they can't plan too far ahead. Rest assured there will definitely be a similar event in April <3

  • i did this in colorado! woooo.

  • lolz. i live in colorado springs but my mom said i couldent go.

  • Los Angeles for me.

  • i so wanna do this!

wen's the next time i can join?

    whoo atlanta!:D

  • :'(

  • i was in los angeles (which was technically pomona...) and it was great. im ready for something new.

PS you know how you can find your picture on the website? mine is totally not there...

  • jajaja... technically pomona. hey, still in LA county!

  • I wanna see if I can do it the next time it comes to New York.

  • does anyone know if they will do it again any time soon?

i missed out the first time.

but i want to do it more than anythinggg.

  • i was in New York.

    it rained...

    but it was so amazing.

i'd do it again in a heart beat.

  • same. on both counts.

  • I think the rain was an important element of understanding. A lot of us were unprotected and our 'huts' could not stand the damage. A lot of us grew sick the next day. Most meaningful cold I've ever had.

  • I WAS IN AUSTIN!!! Look at the bottom right of the "Austin" banner and you can see our group. I got to work hand in hand with Invisible Children and 2 other amazing guys and coordinate 20 people to go to Austin from Lubbock. I will do it again in a heart beat!

  • i was at DC!

  • Well, I've said my peace. May you have good luck and real progress with your efforts.

  • Finally, I already donate money to several different charity organizations. I'm contributing what a single induvidual can in terms of financial support and spreading awareness to friends, family, and peers about world issues most tend to gloss over. The problem is human apathy. All of the poverty and strife in the world makes it clear that its grip on humanity is as strong as ever. This mentality's hold is going to lessen slowly at best. We're fighting against human nature.

  • Their leader Joseph Kony is insane and a religious fanatic; his soldiers believe in his words with a zeal that totally disregards any opposition to him. Taking his word would be like accepting a promise from Hitler stating that he'd shut down concentration camps. We will see what happens. As they say, "Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst."

  • The results of Displace Me don't surprise me. In fact, the politicians are doing exactly what they do best: talking. Taking action and living up to promises are not their strong areas, and I'm doubtful about the success of the Juba peace talks without any real force. The Lord's Resistance Army doesn't care about our ideas concerning human rights and the sanctity of life.

  • continued...

But also, you're right about what you say in your last post -- that the future is up to our generation.

But instead of warning us about the current government, why not get involved as well the 68,000 of us?

Like we said in the video:

We will not close our eyes to the emergency in Uganda.

Why not TRY to make a difference in your world?

  • In response to lgoB00M:

Who say's we're getting our hopes up?

So because "...Our government is not going to try and attempt to stabilize a country" we should just give up? Before you go telling us "that a rally, one held by kids no less, is going to motivate the government to do something" then we are "totally delusional", why don't you check up on what's happened because of Displace Me. Did you know that we've opened up peace talks and we've taken this to CONGRESS? Quite Amazing.

  • Anyway, I hope they keep on doing stuff like Displace Me. Regardless of how the current government is, the people in it will eventually be replaced, and it'll be up to our generation to guide the country. I'm just warning against getting your hopes up for change to occur now or in the near future. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • *sigh*, it seems that a few induviduals here have problems deciphering meaning from text. Look at my oldest post. I say that Displace Me's value lies in creating awareness. The comment afterwards is just putting things into perspective. Our government is not going to try and attempt to stabilize a country unless there's a perceived benefit to the US. Maybe the leaders of tomorrow will make more compassion based decisions, but there's no guarantee of such and it'll be awhile until then.

  • in response to lgoboom ... please take a look at invisible children's latest video to see what we are already doing in dc. we can only hope that we continue to influence those who have the power to make a change.

  • i went to phoenix it was awesome

  • what is this song

  • the song is called no cars go. it's by the arcade fire.

  • this was so said is was part of chicgo

  • You lack reading comprehension. I never said that it wouldn't make a difference, and the Hitler comparison is completely random and baseless. I'm simply stating the reality. If you think that a rally, one held by kids no less, is going to motivate the government to do something, then you are totally delusional and need to take a good look at how the world really works.

  • youtube[dot]com/watch?v=wz2YFfrHLo0

    watch it and weep.

  • I'm not saying Displace Me is pointless, though, with it being the exact opposite. I'm only warning against getting your hopes up for the killings to stop or for those responsible getting punished. Its true value is in getting people who don't care to do just that.

  • thats the same attitude when Hitler was going around "ohh nothing will make a difference" dude i was there. you dont even know.

  • Displace Me's intentions are good, but in all honesty, nothing is going to motivate the government to do anything major concerning Uganda. War between Africa's tribes is constant; the only thing that's changed in the modern age is the addition of guns. In order to stop the violence we would need a large military force, and we're already overextended as it is.

  • I wasn't a part of it this year, since i didn't know about it until early may. but, it's comforting to know that people really do care about these people. i know i do.

  • I Was Part Of Chicago. Who Else Was?

Guys, I know we can do more than this, we've seriously got to end this now, We're running out of time.

  • i was part of it in austin too. it was so moving and amazing. thanks to evrybody who came out and showed your support. we are making the difference

  • This was so amazing.

I'm so glad I was a part of it in Austin.

  • amazing. its awesome to see this generation looking beyond itself and not only seeing needs else where but acting upon what they see trying to make this world a better place for all. may God be with us all as we fight for the good of all

  • It was truly an honor to be part of this.

Thanks to everyone in Austin, Texas for coming out.

  • i was in chicago and i cry almost every time i watch this video its so amazing to think that i was able to be part of this event along with thousands of wonderful caring people who want to help change this world...

this might sound not as great but i would also like to know what the song is in this video??

  • Absolutely incredible... I get chills everytime. Go Displace Me Orlando... it was amazing.

  • love this cause, im planning a whole year of events here in calgary AB and ill post them around here incase someone wants to do them in their own city... here to make a big change!

  • I held up two of the signs in Denver but I didn't see me. Ohh well. It was very powerful. Great job IC on the music video and the Displace Me schedule. I look forward to it next year!

  • i would rather be an activist that an idealist.

because an activist takes action in his/her ideals...

  • the most amazing thing i've ever had the pleasure of taking place in.

i never thought i'd ever do something like this..

IC/DM have really made me care again...

Everytime i watch this i cry. everytime i get the chills.

We are a movement of everyday heroes..

    truly..

    <33

  • Displace me La was the best thing i've ever done. cant wait till next event :]

  • oh, and i forgot to mention when i commented earlier that i love how the background music is "no cars go" by the arcade fire. it's just so fitting for the video..

invisible children is amazing and i hope the war ends soon so there won't have to be a displace me next year.

    <333

  • Was that Pete from Fall Out Boy?

I get the chills everytime I watch this *-* I saw two of my friends in the DC clip ^^ I was there too, but I didn't see me.

  • yeah. pete was at displace me in LA.

    ^_^

  • I applaud this video loudly and enthusiastically with both hands.

  • WOOOHOOOOO how amazing is this!?!?

  • 9I'm crying now....

It's so powerful...even more powerful to know I was one

    Nashville

  • brought me to tears, seeing all of us together.

    chicago

    peace and love to all

  • Displace Me was awesome. I was in LA... such a great cause.

  • i definitely cried when i first saw this. it was so amazing to be at the event in denver, but seeing this all put together and seeing all the people we joined with across the country for the first time was really moving. I feel like we're all involved with something bigger than ourselves here, but every little thing counts. thanks to everyone who participated, you're all fantastic (:

  • Damn Right!!! Peace!

  • xSammiiii... I feel the same way! Everytime I watch this I get all chocked up... What we're doing together as tomorrow's generation for another people is the most beautiful thing in the world. We're spreading love everywhere. It's so contagious! God Bless.

  • I can say with all honesty that I got goosebumps and teared up. I was attended Displace Me Los Angeles and it, by far, one of the best things I have ever done.

  • love the video!

    chicago! :]

  • displace me-seattle was amazing

i agree: best thing i did senior year

my school also won schools for schools

so worth the time, energy, everything

  • Iwas at Displace Me Austin, and i can see my face in there, its neat. Honestly that was the best thing i did in my senior year, i bet everyone who attended was changed one way or another. it is amazing, what is teh song used?

  • it had a profound impact on the way I look at the world- we stand on our forefathers' shoulders- wow.

  • displace me-orlando was wonderful. i'm going to have to agree and say that the DC shot was beautiful. invisible children is amazing. :)

  • I was at Seattle, but you can't see me, I was way in back. I'm probably on the DVD though, because I was in the front row at the wakeup call.

Thanks for posting this on youtube! It's going on my myspace, my gaia, and everything else!

  • Awesome..wish displace me came to detroit =P but my school still helped out a ton in invisible children, can't wait till next year!

  • YEAHHHH!!! REPPIN' IN L.A.!

And yes, I agree, that D.C. shot is amazing!

  • Washington DC was AWESOME!!! I love that shot that panned from the crowd up to the Washington Monument. Being in our nation's capital for Displace me made the whole thing seem so worth it - like we're really making a difference and its not such a big step from the people to our elected leaders to a chance for serious change

  • What an awesome video, all from an amazing night. Displace Me-DC was the BEST! IC, you rock my world!
