  • nice car but come on put the steering wheel on properly!!!

  • whats wrong with your steering wheel?

  • @dave32228 I paid less than £10'000 back in '99 but I would hate to add up how much I've lavished on it over the last decade, but I don't regret any of it, I love my DeLorean :-)

  • That thing sounds really good. how much did you pay for your Delorean?

  • Hello ! Nice Car !!

See my Delorean rest.+ other cars.

    JVB.

  • The car look, sounds, and appears to have the performance I imagined but one thing I noticed is that the steering wheel does not appear to be back perfectly straight. What I mean is that even though you going straight the steering wheel appears as if your turning.

  • Never seen one in an automatic. Very cool.

Do you think it is possible to replace the engine with a much larger one? Though I probably wouldn't unless it was already an auto to my taste.

  • whats up with the steering wheel

  • Has you rebuilt the engine or considered replacing? What would you consider

a viable engine if you had to replace? I don't have a mechanics background but just figured that maybe a viable unit could be a flat 4 from Subaru or a Wankel from Mazda. I'm considering purchasing one (DMC) - just curious.

  • An automatic?? No thanks.

  • it looks like your putting alot of effort into the steering, does the Deloreon have power steering?

  • @ingreat888 No power steering in the DeLorean, but my steering efforts are mostly because the roads are rubbish where I live with a lot of cars parked on the road side. The steering is a really nice weight in the DeLorean as you have the weight of engine hanging right out of the back.

  • @jamesrguk Does it have stick or auto shift?

  • @jamesrguk oh ok ,thanks!. what about cruise control for those long trips? are parts for this car really hard to find?

  • @ingreat888 I've seen some people fit cruise control over in the USA, but in the UK we don't seem to go in for CC that much probably because we don't travel such great distances in our small country.

As for parts, almost everything is available, and parts are not too pricy for a fairly low production car, there are a lot of cross over parts for mechanical stuff, brakes from Ford/Jaguar, engine from Renault etc...

  • @ingreat888 i know mine does

  • @nesboy654 cruise control or power steering?

  • @ingreat888 power steering there is no cruise control

  • automatic?

  • sounds crappy i dont like big pipes

  • great car , sounds awesome , but whats up with the steering wheel....on crooked?

  • pff all you need is an almanac, a flux capacitor and your a billionaire!

  • how tall are u ? i'm a big guy a little over 6-1 i ask you becuse your legs so close to stering wheel and if ever get my hands on one i dont think ill fit i john z delorean was 6-3 but im nearly 300 pounds

  • @steveandbobsho

I'm 6'3 and quite thin, but the steering wheel is telescopic and adjustable up and down and there is alot of adjustment on the seats, I fit fine and find it very comfortable on long drives, I think the video angle doesn't do any favours.

I know many owners who are considerably larger than me who have no trouble living with their DeLoreans.

Best thing is to get a long to a car show and find a friendly owner who will let you sit in one and try it for size.

    J

  • @jamesrguk good to know i still have a chance to fit in a delorean now i need the cash thank you for the reply well take care

  • @steveandbobsho I am 6.7 and hewy and i fit in the car...

  • that sounds pro

  • Wheres your flux capacitor? I don't see it. LOL

  • Good car good car and never forget that PRV engine can be a real (!) reliable and good performer! Add biturbo kit and youve 350 HP!

  • Nice car, I want a delorean so bad. Its been one of my favorite cars since the back to the future movies.

  • lol u looked like u were driving like a maniac

  • @arecibo27 all within the speed limits, it sounds a lot faster than it is!

  • sounds like the delorean dmc 12 in project gotham racing 4.

  • that looks fun 2 drive =]

  • Eh,,? The steering wheel..?

  • @alexishoule121 You don't even know my age you periodblooddrinker. When I said that the cars i've mentioned earlier being rival to muscle cars, I damn mean the recent muscle cars; its soooo obvious. You do have an intellectual capacity of a mongoose. Go and suck your mum's balls and give your mum a blowjob.

  • @jamesrguk Definitely not a fail. I'd LOVE to have a DMC. Automatic especially. :)

  • have you gone back to the future yet? lmao that was cheesy. nice car 5 stars

  • why put some monye on this :P sell it and buy something with more performance...like a muscle car...

  • ha ha, fair point, I suppose I spend money on it because I love this car too much :-) I've had other fasters cars in the past, but there's just somthing about the DeLorean.

  • probably a sentimental reason...plus it's rare :P more than a casual muscle car ! :P

  • @jamesrguk maybe it has something to do with the fact that its a time machine? Just sayin.

  • why isnt the steering wheel look like its turned when ur going straight>?

  • because it's not on right, I took it off while I was doing some work and this was the 1st test drive, I've re-fitted it now and it's straight.

  • what country are u in becuase i think your driving on the left side of the road

  • England, United Kingdom, you are correct we drive on the left here

  • I absolutely have to have this DMC DeLorean!!!!!!

  • Where did you get that spoiler?

  • I got it from a scrapyard from a peugeot 405, with a bit of alteration it fits quite nicely

  • cool!

  • I want the 5sp. But damn your lucky to have the Del, hey hows the seating and room inside seems like your a TALL guy? your knees are like so close to the under dash is it compfy? Looks like a Go Cart or something. I hope I get one, because I am determine it to be the next car I buy After my 96 Honda Accord. LOL

  • @Joefjc : John DeLorean himself was a pretty tall guy (over 6 feet), and the DMC-12 was designed with this in mind. Unless you're extremely tall (6'6" or more) you can fit. I'm 6'3" and am pretty comfortable in one. :)

  • pretty good sound...the low fps really distracts me...i would like to hear this setup with a higher rpm, i bet it would be sweet

  • your steering wheel is crooked haha!

  • yeah, I've straightened it since the video lol

  • Your del sounds brilliant looks like you have really looked after it inside and out is the delorean hard to drive though ?

  • yeah it's in pretty good shape, still 101 things to do as with any classic.

I had the interior retrimmed inleather about 2 years ago and it looks pretty sharp (although not original to the purist) and fortunatly the outside is in good nick too, still tweeking the engintrying to get it to run a little smoother, but all in all not to shabby :-)

  • dude awesome ride! how does she handle on automatic?

  • Pretty good, I think the auto gearbox gets a bit too much stick, it's a nice agressive shifter when driven hard but equally nice crusing on the motorway. I have driven Auto's and Manual DeLoreans and love both but I could never part with my auto I love it too much :-)

  • yeah i wanted to know which transmission to choose just in case i ever get lucky enough to buy one of these beauties.

  • where are you based? UK?

  • nah sorry man i'm across the ocean.

  • what was the update on the fuel metering head?

  • Updated to the Volvo 760 metering head, the volvo varient of this engine, which does not have the CAT and Lamda system pushes 170bhp as apposed to the 130 in the Cat'd delorean version.

The DeLorean engine is the B28F version (F=Federal - emmision controls installed) the Volvo version was the B28E version (E=European i.e. no emmisions control).

So the addition of the volvo metering head, dizzy and control pressure regulator allows for a little more power.

  • is it for sell?

  • no sorry :-)

  • Sounds liek a nice set up your have running there.

...looks like someone put you steering wheel on a touch off center though! haha

What's that scraping sound that's heard sometimes in the vid?

    Great vid :).

  • windscreen wipers juddering accross the screen, I need some new blades, it's on the list :-)

and also on the list is to re-install the steering wheel so it doesn't look like I'm always turning left!

  • sorry right lol

  • Look pretty quick mate!

  • Kick ass ride man!
