This is an example of a good idea gone bad, too many great cars were destroyed. I have a 2000 blazer, at 55mph it gets between 32-34 mpg, Yes it is the 4.3 v-6. if maintained and driven correctly any car can get at least decent mileage.
all dealers had to do was rip the vin off of the car say it was distroyed and sell it to junk yards for parts but no they just crush them people like me who can't ever afford a new car needs car parts to keep them going
Why do people blame the cash for clunkers program and the president, why not blame the GREEDY ONES that had to take advantage of the program - they are the ones that ruined the cars - not the mechanics that blame the president instead of the person that traded on the program. The government offered people money to buy new cars. The dealers gave the people the money when buying new car. The dealer destroys engine and then gets reimbursed from the government. The scrapper is just the middle man. The government is responsible for this genocide.

Luckily we could buy the car parts and nothing had to be destroyed, except of the pure body with VIN. Most of the people who were using this bought a Dacia. What a junk heap. One guy i saw on the junkyard wrecked his E36 325i coupé with a lot of new parts for a new Dacia Logan. What a crying shame.
I've gotta say, I've heard alot about how good those engines were made, and this engine managed to make the motor-executioner tired in the right foot. Boy am I proud :)

My daily driver is an alpine white 90 735iL with 248k on the clock. It is by far, the best car I've ever owned and I wouldn't dream of even selling it, let alone destroy it. If these cars are taken care of and properly maintained, they'll last forever. I've had mine now for nearly 14 years and have no plans of letting it go anytime soon. An E32 7 Series BMW, should NEVER qualify as a "clunker".
The reason why I ended here was because I own this exact car. Bought it for 1000$, invested about 5000$ to make it safe and restore it to it's former beauty, thats how much i love that car . Imagine how I feel at the moment looking at this...
I love that BMW straight 6. Such a silky smooth motor and even though it was being killed in this video it lasted hella long, a testamant to how longer it would have ran except taking someone to work instead.
I just want to point out something. Yeah the Gov't put this stupid program into place but why are Americans trading in their current cars? Just sell it privately or for parts, I mean doing that will help keep others cars on the road and Americans out of debt. Nothing but Japanese cars sold, even though built in the US too much money goes back to Japan.
what asshole gave away this car? bmw should have required people to sign a contract stating they would not give the car away for this reason. the worst part of this is, the owner probably used the money to buy a toyota.

My daily driver is an alpine white 90 735iL with 248k on the clock. It is by far, the best car I've ever owned and I wouldn't dream of even selling it, let alone destroy it. If these cars are taken care of and properly maintained, they'll last forever. I've had mine now for nearly 14 years and have no plans of letting it go anytime soon. An E32 7 Series BMW, should NEVER qualify as a "clunker".

The reason why I ended here was because I own this exact car. Bought it for 1000$, invested about 5000$ to make it safe and restore it to it's former beauty, thats how much i love that car . Imagine how I feel at the moment looking at this...

I love that BMW straight 6. Such a silky smooth motor and even though it was being killed in this video it lasted hella long, a testamant to how longer it would have ran except taking someone to work instead.

I just want to point out something. Yeah the Gov't put this stupid program into place but why are Americans trading in their current cars? Just sell it privately or for parts, I mean doing that will help keep others cars on the road and Americans out of debt. Nothing but Japanese cars sold, even though built in the US too much money goes back to Japan.

what asshole gave away this car? bmw should have required people to sign a contract stating they would not give the car away for this reason. the worst part of this is, the owner probably used the money to buy a toyota.
