  • hey man, what's on the other side of that rock where all those guys were sitting? my son & his boy scout troop went up there last week & he won't say b/c I'm really really afraid of heights & he knows I'll freak out. He came back alive but I need to know if I should slap him for getting so close to the edge of a cliff.

  • that top strap is to tight--its a wonder the kids didn't have to carry your ass down

  • HAHAHA GREAT STUFF, i was up there 2 nights ago, FREEZING!!! granola!!! or cliff bars!!!

  • Gpert, produce more videos please.

Thank you for the ones so far, but I can't believe only 500 people have seen this, and like, it's kinda sad, you make really good videos and people just don't know about em.

  • Glad to see you back Gpert. Next time try out Mount Elbert in my backyard... 14,440, then you will understand the "old man wheeze" at the Zen level...

  • It looks so beautiful. However, I think I will be content to look at other people's footage, and stay - happily - on flat ground!

  • Great to see you back gpert! Missed ya bro!

  • Hi gpert! Great to see you're making videos again! Missed you! This hike looked like fun! Thanks for the history of the trail as well! Hope coming down was easier than going up! :P

  • Hey Chord, We'd meet up there, but at this rate we'll be in Virgina about 2018...

  • thanks for making a video gpert

  • yeah !!!!!

  • Smashin' video but...

What's the deal with the ski poles and no skis... or snow? Those things are just extra weight man!.. And, a 40 pound pack for a weekend! Dude you need to rationalise that a bit.

  • Hey ovation, those be treking poles to save an old man's hips and legs. Yep, 40 lbs is heavy anytime. G

  • You're alive!

  • Great Video!!

  • Hey, GPert, great to see you again. Looked like a fun trip, except for that granola part. No pasta? Hard to imagine! See ya around, I hope.

  • Great video! Interesting info about the Appalachian Trail! Your hike up Blood Hill looked like fun!

  • The funniest man i know on YT is back, well up a mountain. I can laugh again, its been too long, thanks for the solid smiles gpert.

  • Gpert. Gpert. Gpert!!!!! The maaaaan!

  • Good to see you again, even if you are a bit out of breath there... But, if you ate all the granola on the way up Blood Mountain, what are you planning to eat on the way down?

  • Gpert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o)

  • Nice to see you again, G and that looks like a great hike. I'm in the process of high-topping each US time zone. So far I've covered the highest peak in the Atlantic Time Zone (Puerto Rico), the Eastern TZ (North Carolina), and the Mountain TZ (Colorado). Now you've got me thinking about the Appalachian Trail. Thanks for sharing!!

  • YAYYYYY!!GPERT'S BACK!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

  • Hey, G! Nice to see you :)

So beautiful up there; congrats on making it all the way to the top :D

  • I wonder if psychologically it would be easier to hike the entire AT from north to south.

    Great to have you back!

  • Hi gpert. Nice to see some new stuff from you. And... surprise, surprise... lot's of fun. Even though the quality is bad, you managed to make a very interesting video. Absolutly great...

  • Finally!! I've been waiting for a new video! Really cool trail and a great history lesson, too! Hope you guys had an awesome time!

  • Awesome!... I just hiked Sentinel Point out here in Colorado this last Saturday (12,527 feet). I only do day hikes though... not much for camping (or 40 lbs back packs!). :-)

  • Feel free to come hike the Swiss Alps next! ;-) Plenty of granola to be had! They call it Meusli here ;-)

  • Mari, It might take all the Meusli in Europe to get me over the Swiss alps! G

  • Nahhh! I know a short-cut! ;-D

  • A new video! Although I've never been up, it looks really beautiful up there. tflip's comment gave me a laugh as well :D
