@vnfangy Tolkien totally confirmed that in the wonderful things he wrote. They are both awesome- Arwen and Eowyn- but yeah Arwen is supposed to be like the most beautiful thing on earth (middle earth) since Luthien also called Tinuviel and Eowyn is the strong defiant fighter- pretty too but no match for the prettiest thing on earth- but i mean NO human woman is pretty as ANY elf woman, that is totally obvious from ready Tolkien, too, lol. Still Eowyn is awesome, love both characters a lot.

interestingly, eowyn was a better fit for aragorn since she was more of a warrior and wilder than arwen.

the movie doesn't really portray eowyn the way tolkien wrote her in the books. eowyn was kind of like a female version of aragorn. she was also tall, which miranda otto (who plays eowyn) obviously is not.
