Hmm, no Bure. All those players were key, but Bure was the one franchise player who transformed the Canucks from a very solid character team into a true powerhouse.
@undertakerbigevil: I agree. You should know something about fans in this city. They're are very picky, many are band wagon jumpers, they value grit and perseverance (great things in their own rite, don't get me wrong) over skill, easily offended by actions of the players and sometimes not very knowledgeable or understanding (strange for a Canadian city, I know). All that combined = Pavel Bure's number not retired.
I cant believe there are people who think we would actually boo our leader, star player, and captain Roberto Luongo. WE WOULD NEVER EVER BOO ROBERTO LUONGO no matter how bad he is playing in a game
haha, I remebered when I came to Vancouver a few years ago (I'm from Sweden), and I was looking at a few games in GM-Place and I was always wondering "Why the hell are they booing all the time?" Then my sister told me that they we're saying "LOOO", and I was like "ooooooh, that's why xD"
They weren't booing they were saying luuuuuuu. I think that it was very unclassy of the few fans in the building that booed Bettman. Yes he deserves it but I am sure that Trevor Linden would not have wanted him booed.
Bettman gets booed wherever he goes. It's inevitable. And there's nothing wrong with showing displeasure at the job someone is doing, it's not unclassy at all.
I was in the crowd, you dont hear a boo like that on TV unless its almost every person in the building and it was, the only louder moments were the goals, and of course the ovation for Linden, and your right linden wouldnt have wanted it to happen, but at least he laughed :)
why were the booing gino odjick?
