  • The music and bee-flower video are beautiful togther. Please enjoy more bees/flowers/music on my channel - watch "pollination the movie" on youtube. Thank you for this and the interesting comments so far!

  • Busy busy!

  • thx for watching.

there is a dark side story behind the scenes.

both of the honeybees and dandelions shown here are in fact introduced species.

japanese native species have been outnumbered by foreign invaders nowadays....

  • Yikes! I was not aware of the situation. Are these two species harmfully invasive? The issue of invasive species is always a touchy one. I learned that in my area, in Texas, we have been invaded by the Giant Reed (Arundo Donax) originating in the meditereanean area.

  • yikes, i may have exaggerated a bit.

i am simply grumbling here at the dwindling biodiversity of native species and introgression.

the western dandelion was introduced as a vegetable from north america.

they have rapidly become rampant weeds throughout jpn due to the ability to reproduce by parthenogenesis (asexual propagation).

plus, the hybrid dandelion was recently found.

  • the western honeybee was introduced by beekeepers.

fortunately, they are kept at bay by notorious japanese hornets.

as u know, the japanese native honeybee has evolved to acquire an ultimate tactics of collective defence against hornets.
