All the knowledge and foresight of his uncle's murderous intentions, the genius intellect that senses something is amiss, the resigned knowledge that he isn't going to walk away from this one... And he still takes the time to be facetious and piss off a dickhead servant. Hell yes.
@MeesterCrumpet What, I was just making a comparison of the two as actors, nothing wrong with that, unless I broke some unwritten rule that says I cant.
"He'd comply with his mother's dug before he sucked" and "There's a special augury in the fall of a sparrow." Two favorite lines, completely different in nature, and within breaths of each other.
wow i nthe biginning of the scene he reminded me of all the girly reasons im in love with him.by the end of it it reminded me of why i think hes so talented
Interesting that this Osric (as compared to Robin Williams' Osric in Ken Branagh's Hamlet) actually picks up on the fact that Hamlet's messing with him.
Something I noticed: Compare Hamlet's reflection in this scene, in the same mirror, if I'm not mistaken, as the one from when Ophelia was going mad, to that same scene. His reflection is less splintered than ether Ophelia's or his mother's. Symbolicy, this would imply that this version portrays Hamlet as, in fact, less fractured than ether woman.
Thanks for uploading this. Although I think that Tennant is wonderful throughout, his Hamlet *really* reminds me of the Doctor in this scene...much more so here than in the production's more manic moments. There's the same sense of gravity and resolve, which is interesting between two such different characters.
This Osric scene makes me insanely happy. That guy perfectly plays "I don't know whether I more want to die of mortification or strangle Hamlet". The interplay of these three characters made me laugh out loud. A lot. I don't think I've ever seen an Osric scene this good! This production just gets so many scenes exactly right!!
I think I have done a very good job till now of not gushing over David Tennant, but since it's nearly over let me just say this on the subject: <3 !!!
When he held up his arm I expected him to say "My manly hairy hand."

The part at the end when Hamlet says "the readiness is all" makes me want to yell "noo David don't!"

Gotta love the "Yours, yours..." at 4:13. Really ticking off poor Osric there, but David Tennant as Hamlet just does it so well!

It always amazes me how actors who know how to do Shakespeare can make the dialogue seem flat out NATURAL.

In my opinion, David Tennant is Britain's version of Jim Carrey, I mean he can make any face and do anything with his voice.

@SuperMEntertainment Oooo...that was bad. except jim carrey is far from...well, a fangirl sex symbol

I burst out laughing when Osric makes that camp hand gesture when he says"Three of the carriages, in faith, are very dear to fancy". Best Osric ever.
