  • very accurate, first class feel

  • In A White Room With IPad Support!!! I can't watch it this January 2012.

  • nice cover and zepplin shirt.

  • That has got to be some of the weakest drumming EVER, there in that intro there... Other than that pretty good, can tell youve spent hours getting down exactly where and how the different variations are etc.

Also, regarding the rests right before Eric's solo: it's 10 beats. Two bars in 5/4 with the final bass drum + cymbal hit (A7 chord) being on the first 1.

  • Nailed it. nice job.

  • COUNT 10 BEATS FROM BREAK AT 4.05 HOPE THIS HELPS (OR 9 BEATS OF REST AS OTHER SUBSCRIBER SAYS,,I FIND THE 10 STRAIGHT IN WORX BEST FOR ME BUT WHATEVER DOES THE JOB ..USE IT)

  • COUNT 10 BEATS FROM BREAK AT 4.05 HOPE THIS HELPS

  • Im a real fan of Ginger Baker. He is a wonderful drummer with a very unique and syncopated drum sound. You did a a really good job.

  • @PurpleStain82 That's what I counted too.

  • its good for the alternative way to play the song, but on the actual version the snare only hits on beats 2 and 4, the triplet and eight note beats in between are done on the double base drum/pedal, but this is a good way to do it if you dont have the equipment

  • @zeppelin424242

I disagree. Listening as close as I can, there are DEFINITELY snare hits in between the standard 2 and 4. I may have replaced a few bass hits with snare hits just because of my interpretation, but there are definitely ghost notes and does not require a double pedal.

  • @TJDrumline2009 i agree its hard to tell, we all interpret the song differently, but if you listen really close, you can hear to different pitched drums that sounds like toms or base drums doing the fill beats, maybe there combining with the snare, but theres definately alot to his rythym, i personally dont have a double base so i play it just like you do, i just like to think ginger baker was more capable of constructing a more complex rythym but either way you played it appropriate and good

  • wooow awesome vid dude and really cool led zeppelin shirt :D

  • thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My god, when you hear the drum track by it's self it really makes clear how fucking effective ginger bakers drumming was. I play in a few bands, and I've always struggled to find a drummer who could stop him self from constantly throwing in unnecessary fills and just straight up show boating. Drummers, please take note, if your playing rock music, you don't need to drum like a death metal superstar. Fucking chill out and play music the right way.

  • @jeckoline That applies to guitar players as well.

  • the break before 4.05 ( or the guitar solo) is an interlude of 10 bars of 5/4 time with the last 2 bars of 5/4 time playing the crash and bass drum play on 1 of bar 1,if you count 1/4 notes rest in your head for 2,3 4,5 and 1 to 5 of bar 2 and come in at 1 of the next bar which is 4/4 time playing the high hat and bass drum....your timing will be correct...

  • hey, just wondering. what floor tom is underneath the ride symbol?

  • How do you know exactly when to come back in at 4:05? How is it counted or how many beats of rest are there?

  • @CMD9889

there's a certain number of rests, though I never counted them, I just knew the feel. You can count them if you tap your foot though.

  • @drumdasnare I thought I counted like 11 counts of rest. I know what you mean by the feel. I'm always close but I never can get it exact. Thanks!

  • @CMD9889 Starting with the cymbal crash on "1" it's a count of 10 or 2 1/2 measures of 4/4.

  • @rhythmantic Thanks!

  • i believe it's counted 5/4 , that's how i count them and it comes out right

  • @kingchristian14 So you counted it as two measure of rest in 5/4?

  • @CMD9889 yah just make sure you count it on the right tempo because when it changes to the bridge its counted by 5/4

  • @CMD9889 It's two counts of 5. You come back in on the third 1.

  • @masterjoey1029 Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I had to learn this song for a band I'm in. They all wanted to play this and Sunshine of Your Love and Red House. That's how I counted that part.

  • @CMD9889 9 beats of rest.

  • @CMD9889 I believe that interlude changes from a 4/4 time signature to 5/4. If you count in 5s (1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 &) , you'll see the crash comes in on the 1 each measure. Then two measures of rests at 5/4 then back to 4/4 on 1. You could try and count 4/4 through the interlude but you'd probably find the crashes shifting from 1 on the first measure to 2 on the second, and so on. Then you'd probably have to come back in on 3 after the rests but you'd really be playing 1. I'd go with 5/4 :)

  • @CMD9889 its like 8 quator rests i belive

  • @CMD9889 It's a fermata. You just have to know that you need to come in with everyone else.

  • coooooooool version!!!!!

  • sounded great!

  • Nice Zeppelin shirt.

  • Ill Jam with him anytime...

    the video is great!

  • I enjoyed!

Ginger is fantastic and you play it perfectly.

  • Is that a zeppelin shirt your wearing?

  • your brilliant! superb! clean yet fits the grove like amazing!!

  • your brilliant!

  • awesome man!! love cream and clapton!! rock on bro!

  • Liked the cover alot! Very dynamic. I know it was 2 years ago but "Thumbs up". Good drum audio.

  • it took me 1 week to learn this and this dude is good :)

  • not even fuckin close

  • Excellent cover...Pretty much note 4 note...Good job!

  • Great playing! I learned how to play this song by constantly looking at this video. I could guarentee that of these 15,780 views, over 10,000 are mine!

  • I WANT THOSE HEADPHONES

  • The only problem I could see is you didn't hit the drums as ferociously as Ginger Baker. Other than that, flawless

  • Nice job, been working on this song for a while. Only been drumming maybe 6 months or so. On the fast 16th note drum rolls, are they 4x4 or 2x4? My ear isn't that great yet.

  • great cover. one of my brothers friends taught me most of this song but i got to learn the rest. also he showed me to play it differently than you did. the way you play it sounds more like the origonal than the way i was thaught though. im gonna try learning the rest of this song. again, awsome cover

  • WIn taste in music. Win cover. YOU RULE

  • very nice

    check out my cover

  • awesome job on Cream. Thumbs up!

  • Good Cover! How about Toad(Short version)? You nailed this one! Rock On!

  • i like it dude...and the zeppelin shirt just makes it better

  • Lovely music :)

  • emperors on the toms. thats what i have

  • Impressive. How long have you been playing?

  • @Iokeful at the time of this video i had been playing for 5 or 6 years i think?

    this was 2 years go.

  • Thanks for the cover; I can't help but think of the vid of Cream playing this at Royal Albert Hall.

  • nice work....nice zeppelin shirt too;)

  • I love ginger's work so much, and you nailed it man. fantastic drummer :)

  • this is amzing. good job bro

  • You nailed Baker's bass drum work. nice job!

  • Keep it up dude! You've got skills!

  • youre really good XD

  • you hit it right on

  • man, talk about bringing back memories. this song i listened to when i was 15-16 living in jersey. the only drums i had was the window sills, jaja. but to a song like that, hell. awesome job guy. really.

  • Well done...I would have been a little more forceful with the toms but you did fine...I like the sound of your bass...can you share the brand and model and how you enabled it to have that punch?...looks like a see a pillow in there....

  • awesome =-)

  • This is so good it gave me chills

  • you're a really good drummer !! = )

  • that was perfect dude, even Ginger Baker would be impressed with this

  • No he would not!! Did you ever see how Baker is playing that!? Watch the Farewell concert back in 68' !! You'll see!

    Cheers!

  • Great.

Just how I'd have done it.

  • i like your shirt

  • i wish my drums sounded like that. great job!

  • very nice man

  • Bose over ear, nice choice =]

  • nice old kit i hav one tht looks just like tht but its forest green metallic

  • I've always loved the drums in this song!

  • im a drummer and i thought it was pretty good. but a little constructive criticism here instead of just rolling toms and going back to high hat everytime, change it up every now and then and sneak a crash in there itll sound bad ass

  • I admit it would sound a lot better

but the track doesn't do that, it alwyas goees straight back into the high hat

    But It would sound better

  • great job man, i wish i had friends who played drum everyone i know plays guitar i play bass and guitar i like bass more

  • i think baker uses mallets on this song, though

  • r the bottom of ur toms empty or do u have a head on them, some were tellin me some dont have heads on the bottom of their toms

  • Darn good job. I like the camera angle. Sure helps to see what's moving when. Thanks for posting.

  • nice1. especially the fill-in at 1.04 was sweet ;D

  • Excellent playing. You have it down man. You make Ginger Baker proud. What a fun song to play to. TimG

  • terrific cover of a great drum beat

  • are those rock band drum sticks ?

  • uhm...no. those are standard Vic Firth 5A drumsticks. the rock band (at least for rock band I) drumsticks are crap; they're practically made of balsa wood and are as thin if not thinner than 7As.

  • @drumdasnare Pro-Mark 7As with nilon tips are amazing. I don't know what you're talking about, Rock Bands sticks are thicker than 7As.

  • awsome dude lol

  • YAAAAAA!!!!!! i love the drum beat to white room!!!!

    kickASS!!! good job btw

  • Great cover but you did have minor hi-hat timing problems, TRUST ME!! I know, I am a professional drummer myself.

  • it's cool, man. i don't doubt there are problems, that's half of why these videos are up here, for me to improve.

    thanks for the input.

  • @drumdasnare hahaha what a douche bag comment you had to reply too. i mean TRUST ME im a pro drummer. what a douche non-pro thing to say. very classy i would have said something mean to him

  • Fascinante.

  • another good drummer on youtube.

I'm also really big into classic rock since last year. gotta respect it.

    great job man. really good.

you totally got the triplets part dwn!

    nice job :]

  • Good job.. 5 stars..

  • what size is the smallest tom?

  • all my set info is in my profile.

    that tom is 10"

  • Awesome! You have a very good ear for detail. toms got a great tone! Like your style, check out mine.

  • hey! thanks for commenting on my vids. i've checked out yours before, including your Separate Ways video (while it was up at least). You're really good and i love the occasional stick tricks :P

  • all my life I've been trying it learn that drum pattern you did at 1:29, can you tell me how to do it?

  • Hard to explain without actually showing you but basically you hit the snare and then the bass drum in fast succession, one after the other. You do that in pairs, I think two pairs in this instance.

  • impressive i love this song too

  • DRUMDASNARE......I am a drummer as well, and by no means am i bangin' on ya bro....Watch and listen to your video very carefully....Your "meter' floats around some, your kick drum beat seems to lag a bit...at times just barely behind the beat. Your kick leg seems pretty tense, relax it.....i cant tell if you are playing flat footed, if so, i would change to using the ball of your foot, slide up and down the pedal as needed, these should help with the stiff, lagging beat. Let me know plz, Blaise

  • me tooooooooooooooooooooo

  • DAMN!!!!! Well done bro.. nice cover..

  • nice zeppelin shirt!

  • Awesome video man, really makes me want to get into drumming again

  • you dont have to be so happy go lucky, you could've just said you should learn dazed and confused, its a good drum song, you dont have to like bond with him

  • guys, chill, alright? it's no big deal how he worded it or whatever. and Gromster: i agree, it's a great song of Zeppelin, so maybe i'll give it a shot.
