  • In the Eastgate Shopping Mall in Gloucester they have a replica of the house and Gloucester Cathedral in the background and on the hour you can see the mice sewing and climbing the clock tower, if you visit Gloucester you should go and see it (native of Gloucester and proud of it)

  • song from 0:53 is Silent Falls The Winter Snow

  • the dog are such slobs

  • Quite a jolly tunefest, wot!

  • is it weird that i know the song that the drunk rats are singing?

  • @seleinathescorpio what song is that?

  • @flamehands21"uncle rat" by atlan, but this version was made special for this movie, the lyrics are, There was a frog lived in a well kitty alone, kitty alone A merry mouse in the mill Cock me carry, kitty alone, kitty alone "The frog he went a wooing ride, kitty alone, kitty alone, a sword and buckler by his side, cock me carry, kitty alone, kitty alone" "When he was on his high horse set, kitty alone, kitty alone, his boots they shone as black as jets cock me carry, kitty alone, kitty alone"
  • i'd spend xmas eve with the alcoholic rats :P

  • Those mice are such geeks. Sewing on Christmas Eve instead of having a drunken party! I know who I'd rather be...

  • 2:52 The Cat Gang Legends

  • I want party like the rats

  • I want to party with those rats

  • I love the "Kitty Alone" song. I sang it all the time when I first saw this as a kid.

  • damn! those rats are just like that frat party last saturday!

  • at 3:13, Simpkin discovers where Christmas dinner comes from.

  • looks like someone's a little twisted eh?

  • I LOVE THE RATS!

  • Ok, so I have an extremely specific and difficult request. I absolutely adore the music in the first 30 seconds of this video. Does anyone know where I can find it? I really hope someone can help me with this..

  • @yanathrae Beleive me, i'd love the just be able to find the music in a complete form however, I'm pretty sure this slower version of the sussex carol was written specially for this animation and so would'ne be released in full. The only thing i can recomend is that you could convert the format of the video to mp3? This would just mean you could put it onto your ipod or mp3 player though. Hope this helped :')

  • they just don't make cartoons like this anymore. all you can find on tv these days is weak crap with weak animation thats been done a million times before!

  • @SaphiraHorse That could not be any truer, I watched this and went to see something else of the telly. And it was this modern animation (very plain and boring) and no new or strong message about Christmas. It had jokes, and boy were they dry.

  • Does anyone know which choir sang the slow version of the Sussex Carol? I'm desperate to have it!!

  • this has got to be my favourite Beatrix Potter story

  • @az19all Mine too. I read somewhere it was her personal favourite.

  • and wat shall we have for supper Mrs Bond There's geese in the larder and ducks in the pond

  • Someone please tell me the name of the song the mice are singing!

I'm in love with that song, It's soooo beautiful!

And I need the lyrics for when we go caroling this year!

  • @ChixWakkoLUVxJC There was a frog lived in a well, Kitty alone, kitty alone, A merry mouse in the mill Cock me carry, kitty alone, kitty alone. The frog he went a wooing ride, Kitty alone, kitty alone, A sword and buckler by his side, Cock me carry, kitty alone, kitty alone. When he was on his high horse set, Kitty alone, kitty alone, His boots they shone as black as jets Cock me carry, kitty alone, kitty alone. "kitty alone"
  • @injuryandinsult LOL! Um, thanks.

But I said the mice, not the rats. ^^'

The one with the female mouse in a hat or bonnet

    Sorry for the mix up.

  • @ChixWakkoLUVxJC oh I'm sorry, I'm not a native english speaker and I really couldn't tell the difference between rats and mice XD

  • @injuryandinsult LOL! It's okay!

Well now I know what the drunk rats were singing at least! xD

(Btw, if you don't mind my asking, what language do you normally speak? :3 )

  • @ChixWakkoLUVxJC I'm from Italy, italian is my first language :)) I hope I can improve my english a bit on YT..!

  • @injuryandinsult Wow really? :D

I'm half italian! I'm part of the Sforza family! -^.^-

And if you really want to learn more about english, I could help.

There's really not much to it, it's mostly slang now-a-days! xD

  • @ChixWakkoLUVxJC OMG you mean THOSE Sforza family?!?! O__O

Well I'm quite good at english except that I'm not as good in speaking/writing as I am in reading and understanding!

yeah you got it, slang and accents are my main issue, and I understand american waaay better than british english :DD

  • @injuryandinsult O.O?! Is it really that big a deal?

I mean, I know they used to be royalty (I think) but I'm nowhere near rich or famous!-^///^- LOL!

In fact, our money is pretty low right now. -.-'

I see, well I'm pretty good at understanding what people mean.

I have friends from all over the world! :D

Most of them are over the internet, but I still consider them my friends! :3

LOL! That might be because most americans hardly use proper grammer anymore! xD lolz!

  • @ChixWakkoLUVxJC yes, that's really a BIG deal! We study Sforza family in history and everything, try and do some reasearch, you will be amazed! =)))

yes, I know about americans XD tell me, do you know any british tv shows (like, maybe, something more modern than Little Britain XD) so I can improve my british accent? :D

  • @ChixWakkoLUVxJC *grammar

  • @seehispugnosedface O.O.................LOLOLL!!!!!

See?! I told you most Americans hardly use proper "grammar" anymore! x'DDD

(But, was it really necessary to correct such a small typo? o.o?)

  • @ChixWakkoLUVxJC Four-and-twenty tailors Went to catch a snail, The best man amongst them Durst not touch her tail; She put out her horns Like a little kyloe cow. Run, tailors, run! Or she’ll have you all e’en (eaten?) now! Hey diddle dinkety poppety pet, The merchants of London they wear scarlet, Silk in the collar and gold in the hem, So merrily march the merchant men. Though it's a bit late for caroling, sorry!

  • Those dogs are hilarious!

  • Christmas it's my favorite day!!!!!!

  • @1990dedu the most magical time of the year

  • Yes, you're right

  • Kitty Alone is probably my favourite memory from watching the Beatrix Potter series. When i first watched it as a kid I sang it all the time.

  • thi is so good i allmost faved twice! XD

  • 1:51-1:55

    is the cat cursing?

  • They're mice, not rats!

  • the ones who are drunk and singing are rats

  • Man, I wish my cat could run errands.

"Tigger! Get me some booze, now hop it!

  • The song is just a different version of the 'Sussex Carol' that plays at the beginning. The words are the same.

  • I wanna know too... it's such a lovely song :( I can't find it anywhere on the internet.

  • I'm deeply in love with the song that starts at 0:52 Is that song just made up for this movie, or is it an actuall song? In that case, what's the name of it?

  • so am i - and i have no idea what it's called :(

  • Any idea what the song the rats sing is? The best i can translate is "The merry mouse in the mill" and "A sword and buckler by his side." Please help me.

  • I know one of the lines is "His boots, they shone as black as jets"

  • I think it's called A Frog He Would A Wooing Go. Not sure though.

  • The words are taken from the old 17th-century part song 'The Marriage of the Frog and the Mouse. If you google that title it comes up with sheet music on JSTOR, but with a different tune. I think the tune used here was composed specially.

  • Haha, I love them drunken rats.

  • @Watchoutapiano Yeah, I wanna Party with those rats!

  • At least they have better musical taste than chavs

  • @Watchoutapiano russian rats :))
