Although I'm a Christian, I've never understood this anti-"Xmas" campaign. I've seen hundreds of people with an ichthus on the back of their cars with the letters ΙΧΘΥΣ inside. If we can abbreviate "Jesus Christ, God, Son, Savior" into five Greek letters, why on earth can't we do the same with "Christmas?"
Lulz. I have to explain this to relatives all the time when they freak out about people's light displays. Now I can just direct them to this video, no?
Thanks for turning my rant into the simple sentence; "It's not taking the Christ out of Christmas, it's simply abbreviating it." I probably wont loose as many friends this Xmas. :P

It bothers me when people do that to! ...those uneducated people. :)

"Matt, what is an anti-rant?" It was creepy. That was exactly, verbatim, what I was thinking.
Also, Greek ftw.

"Lazy researcher's best friend, Wikipedia." I love that quote, and it's just so true.

You were so calm. It was weird. But I guess that was your teacher side coming out.
I like these anti-rants, I feel smarter at the end. =) Do more please.

I would totally comment 'there's no annotation! but then I'd probably comment the same thing all the rest has done so far..."

This was a remarkably calm sharing of information. For you, anyway. Well done. :P
Also, I knew this already, so I am now feeling clever. Thanks. :)

No, to take the Christ out of Christmas you say "Merry Santamas! I hope you have a good day worshiping our lord and savior Santa."

Merriam Webster Online had a video about this a few days ago. The fact I know this shows my nerdiness.

I never knew that. I always assumed that the "X" stood in for a cross, and was thus a symbol for Chist.
The idea of "xmas" being offensive is new to me.
