Keep in mind that the idea behind both the AE and the FT is that they're light cars with a good power-to-weight ratio. If the STI engine is considerably heavier, it's possible that they decided not to offer it for just that reason

I read on motor trend that the FT-86 will have around 200hp, IMO that's not enough, I'm looking for something closer to 300hp. Maybe they can turbo charge? They better do something if they wanna compete with the 370Z. I rather have more power than a cheaper price, as long as it doesn't top out over 40 grand. 35k is a good price for a fully loaded FT-86 IMO

you can read stats on the mercedes website or a million other automotive websites out there. the point of a road test is to give you a feel and impression of what it is like to drive the car. if the video was just reading off stats it would be pointless and boring. yes, its objective because it depends on the person doing the road test, but i think fldetours does an amazing job in a very short segment.

I owned many older Corollas (78-82), and the only thing the newer models have over the old school is better A/C, that's it.
And the SL550 is a nice car, but a DEFAULT car to be purchased by Real-Estate agents, doctors, lawyers, and most white collar fruitcakes with money to flaunt. Well that is what it looks like here in Chicago.

I would like that FT 86 better if toyota had no part in it... but subaru alone would probably never meddle in RWD boxer powered sports cars. I personally would love to see a RWD subie that's roughly the size of a Miata or RX8, and with a bigger turbo and such than the STI so it would hopefully push around 350 HP and weigh in at less than 3000 lbs, ahh the fun I could have
And I'd take the SL550 over the more expensive SL63 and 65 AMG just because it's smaller, lighter but still powerful but I'd take the 2010 BMW z4 over this though not because it's a BMW but because I just like it a lot more especially the interior. The SL's interior looks just like the older one.

I don't think the FT-86 could replace the AE86 because it doesn't have the same characteristics as the AE86 (aside for being a light RWD car) and It ain't a hatchback. I think the FT fits more of a Toyota Supra replacement especially especially because of the pricetag and looks just like that the FT-HS concept which was before rumored to be the next generation Supra.
its REPLACING it. it is not the NEXT AE86. it is a successor to the AE86. meaning it is built better and is taking up the spot the AE86 used to be in. it CANNOT be the Supra's replacement considering it does not meet or beat the performance of the MKIV.

I would like that FT 86 better if toyota had no part in it... but subaru alone would probably never meddle in RWD boxer powered sports cars. I personally would love to see a RWD subie that's roughly the size of a Miata or RX8, and with a bigger turbo and such than the STI so it would hopefully push around 350 HP and weigh in at less than 3000 lbs, ahh the fun I could have

And I'd take the SL550 over the more expensive SL63 and 65 AMG just because it's smaller, lighter but still powerful but I'd take the 2010 BMW z4 over this though not because it's a BMW but because I just like it a lot more especially the interior. The SL's interior looks just like the older one.

I don't think the FT-86 could replace the AE86 because it doesn't have the same characteristics as the AE86 (aside for being a light RWD car) and It ain't a hatchback. I think the FT fits more of a Toyota Supra replacement especially especially because of the pricetag and looks just like that the FT-HS concept which was before rumored to be the next generation Supra.

its REPLACING it. it is not the NEXT AE86. it is a successor to the AE86. meaning it is built better and is taking up the spot the AE86 used to be in. it CANNOT be the Supra's replacement considering it does not meet or beat the performance of the MKIV.

um the comparable and dead S2000 is anywhere from 32-37 grand new. that's WAY more money than the FT-86.

the sport coupe didn't come out until 2002, which is the coolest model and the only post-2000 Benz worth buying until they sell the B-class down here!
